Pulling down leaves was simple, getting them to set on Willow wasn't so simple, but hardest of all would be getting them to *stay* and having the patience to *wait* while the spiders did their web-spinning magic.
The patience part maybe wasn't so bad. Cygnus was an energetic lion, certainly. One moment he was lying in the shade with Willow, the next standing, the next pacing, and then the next gone on some errand he imagined to be important. The whole time though he was content to keep up a monologue, sharing with Willow various interesting facts about the spiders. Telling her about the things he'd seen in his traveling. Going on about folktales and fairytales for cubs.
He revealed absolutely nothing about himself, but he kept entertainment rolling in, and the longer he spoke, the more interested and expressive he came into it, until it was almost just Cygnus as a storyteller speaking to one person or fifty or no one at all.
And then, suddenly, he yawned, put his head on his paws, and announced that his mouth was "drier than a rock in a drought" and he couldn't go on. ... So, what about her... ?

Willow listened intently as Cygnas talked to her and told her stories. She had heard of most of them when she was younger, but enjoyed hearing them again nevertheless. She certainly understood spiders more.
Finally he laid down and started to relax. She had stayed still so the spiders could get the salve on her and keep it on her. She looked over at the spider lion with a smile, then started to speak. "I know of one tale you have not spoken of yet."
She stopped to shift into a better position, then began speaking again. "It's a bit of a spooky story. No lion knows if it is true or not. I just know that it could be true." With a grin she continued. "Two cubs had wandered away from their pride several years ago. They were going out to prove they could take down a deer by themselves, though they were still rather small."
"After several hours of attempts they realized that the sun was setting and they were very far from their pride. As they ran home they spotted a deer. With their last bit of strength they worked together and took it down, one cub tripping it while the other closed it's wind pipe off. It was a struggle of course, but they did it. But by then, it was very dark out, only the stars and moon to guide them."
Together they began dragging the deer back with all their strength until they were met with several glowing yellow eyes." She widened her eyes a bit as she said that. Her paws motioned as she spoke. "They stopped and saw at least seven hyenas surrounding them. 'We'll be taking that now...thanks for getting us our dinner.' Said the leading hyena. The cubs said nothing."
"One of the hyenas advanced. The first cub cowered while the other growled, standing it's ground. What happened next has never been explained. The cowering cub stared in horror as the growling turned to a gurgling roar. Something was happening to his friend. Suddenly...a huge flame erupted from his mouth, engulfing the hyenas. The hyenas ran for their lives, and so did the cowering cub. He ran through the night until he made it home. The other cub was never seen again. Many search parties went out, combing the area where it had all transpired. But it was as if the cub simply...vanished." With that she swept her paws through the air to emphasise the ending, then looked at Cygnas.

Cygnus Araña nodded, "I believe it could happen. I believe anything can happen. What do you think? Fact or fiction?"

Willow nodded, smiling softly. "The cub that made it back was a friend of mine. I believe it happened."

Cygnus Araña's ears perked up, "Really? That's quite something. What did the cub--your friend-- think about it?" He tilted his eyes, for the first time really looking her over. The comment he'd been about to make about a fire-lion guardian not seeming to set well with how she looked.

"He was scared out of his mind. Nobody could get him to talk for a few days after that. Eventually he told me everything. I was shocked, scared, and amazed. I really miss him..." She drifted off into thought, remembering the lion she'd grown up with, a smile forming across her mouth.

Cygnus smiled back at her, "Maybe you should find him." He suggested, "If you like, you can travel with me until I find a place to stay with the little lions."

"Oh, I know where he is. He is in the next world." She looked at him again, smiling softly. "I'd love to travel with you though."

Cygnus Araña nodded, "I'd be glad to have a companion until I can find a home, though to be honest, I need to find one quickly and cannot travel slowly." He gave her a concerned look, "But you'll want someone to help you." He murmured.

Willow tilted her head to the side. "I will not slow you down. And once you find yourself a home, I should be strong enough to go alone. I'm used to traveling alone."

Cygnus Araña looked at Willow a moment, for once completely still as he both seemed to be considering her, her words, and listening to something more.
Finally he let out a hearty bit of laughter, clawing up dirt and sending it flying, "Nonsense, I wouldn't leave you out until you were well, and I certainly will not push to make it worse. Besides, what is the point of exploration if we travel too fast to explore. Who knows what we could discover a pace nicer than the neck-break-waiting-to-happen that I've been headed out on? Nonsense. It shall be fun, and I would be glad to finally have a traveling partner as opposed to being the vehicle on which others travel."

Willow smiled as she listened to Cygnas. He wasn't going to leave her by herself. "You are the kindest lion I have ever met Cygnas. Thank you very much for letting me tag along. I'm sure we'll have fun traveling together. There are so many beautiful sights to see and places to go. Pride Lands is a gigantic place." She walked closer, the medicine working wonders on her burned skin. Her graceful movements of how she once could carry herself returned. Finally the pain wasn't so agonising she was forced to waddle.
