Durendal shook his head. "Where else are we going to go? Kore took Osis, scattered the Hunters. Johachim told Tu and Eric to take as many as they could fit and scatter. Eric and Hattie and their outfits went to Earth, we came here."

Tu stepped out of the way as Ghost stumbled past her, and looked at the man with an awkward expression. "You all right?"
Pen nodded to Durendal, "There aren't many places left, that's the truth. Though, I was wondering if you'd come here for the same reason as I." Pen leaned her elbow on the bar, "I'm assuming you've heard the rumors."

"Which rumors would be a better question." Durendal replied, casting a look over to Ghost, but then back to Pen, "Something about some guy setting up a resistance against the Kore was one, but the most interesting was the one concerning some kind of something that could go against the Eye, something we can use to get rid of that damn rock."

"The last one. It's why I'm here." Pen ran a hand up and brushed back a few of the thin rust-colored braids. "I was supposed to meet up with Ora a week ago, she'd intended to meet with the Matron and try to get information. But she hasn't shown up."

Pen shook her head. "I don't think so. If they had her, they would have known my location as well, and they wouldn't wait around to pick me up."

Laurel huddled in the cold, windowless cell. It had been three days, near as she could tell, since she and her "cousin" Ora had been separated. Ora had been trying to arrange a meeting with the Matron when they'd been ambushed, apparently by some rival faction.
They hadn't been harmed, just shoved in this dark room and left alone, feed through a slot in the wall. Then, a few days ago, Ora was missing when she woke up.

Das Steube Durendal nodded. "well, I guess we should start by finding her." Pen nodded, "That might be advisable. Are you up to something like that?" She paused after a moment. "And you mentioned Eric and Hattie earlier, how are they? Do you know?"

A woman's voice echoed from beyond the cell door, it wasn't loud, but the command in it was evident. A soft, "Yes, Matron" preceded the sound of the guard shuffling at the cell door, attempting to unlock it. As the door swung open, the light was at the matron's back, leaving a dark silhouette of woman of about average height. "Are you in good condition?" She asked Laurel.

"And you mentioned Eric and Hattie earlier, how are they? Do you know?" He shook his head. "Not for a few months. They ran to Earth to try and get some help from there, but I think Kore has cut off all comminucations to there." durendal paused, looking thoughtful, "Oh, and for now, just call me Jake. They might have some ears on this rock. Don't want to lead the ******** straight to here."

She shivered. "They are not good memories."

"I have not been harmed or mistreated, just left alone with my memories." She shivered. "They are not good memories." "Then let's find you a place where those memories can't reach you." The matron gave her head a small nod towards the door. "Come on, Laurel." Although in the shadow, the matron's features would be familiar to Laurel. Erica hadn't changed too drastically over the centuries, though a thin scar sliced across the bridge of her three-freckled nose. "How long have you been in here?" She asked, moving away from the cell, expecting Laurel to follow her out. "And were you brought here alone?"

She turned in her stool, overlooking the crowd, her eyes slightly narrowed. "The Kore would try and cut off earth. So you and Tu came alone?"
