Zakn stayed quiet to let the other male talk... and what a story it was... by Lloth he'd been through the works and back really. It was enough of a rarity to find a Drow willing to care whole heartedly, unselfishly and fully for another, even another Drow, but to have one who had had his feelings trashed to the ground, and manage to come out the other side still so warm and so... so.. something... well, it was special! It was wonderful.. and Zakn honestly had no real idea how to react.
He wanted to tell Kalan it wouldn't happen again, that he'd never leave him... but what would that count for? They weren't anything... they barely knew each other... Kalan, it seemed, felt there was something there as well, and there was... there had to be... but what that something was, was still something of a mystery. All he knew was that keeping Kalan close to him, kissing him... at least a little for now and holding him all felt, as Kalan had said, right. Very very right.
"I'm... sorry you were hurt..." he managed after quite a prolonged silence. There was feeling in the words that he hadn't really intended to be there, he really did feel for Kalan... and a part of him really wished there was something more that he could do... something that would simply make the pain he'd felt just vanish.
It was times like this Zakn'fryn really realised he was a very very poor excuse for a Drow indeed, and quite probably should have been killed at birth.
Oh well.
"I mean... if it'd been me.. I wouldn't... I... I mean.. not that I am... or think I should be... or anything like that..." oh Goddess. The Babbling. Why did he always talk so much when he was nervous?! Why?! Wait... why was he nervous?!
"I just... I don't understand how anyone could do that... to you.. Kalan..." after finally managing to push the words out, he let the arms he still had curled around the smaller drow tighten, holding him quite firmly against him as if slightly afraid for a moment that he might suddenly slip from his grip like a sylph and simply vanish. "I know its silly but you're already to dear to me to even think of letting anyone else hurt you like that.. if they do, or even think about it I'll slap them silly..." that was mumbled more than anything, like he was accidentally speaking his thoughts rather than actual thought out sentances, but regardless, the sentiment was there.
He'd try to stop Kalan being hurt. He liked Kalan, and wether he realised he was feeling it or not, a part of him was very much hoping that Kalan would deign, at some point, to possibly like him too...

Kalan gave Zakn a slightly pathetic little smile before pressing his cheek back against the other males chest to try burrowing into it.
"It's okay now.. Like I said, it's utterly idiotic of me to still.. Even think about it. It happened a long time ago after all."
He stayed fairly quiet for a moment, ear pressed against Zakns chest just listening to his words and his breathing, his heart too. It was oddly soothing, something he didn't want to admit to needing. He was just content to listen for the moment and feel..
"Thank you for.. Caring?" He peered up at the others chin for a moment, reaching up to brush his fingertips over it, "I don't know why but.. Hearing that is oddly comforting, you know..? I.. I like it.."
He was strangely comforted by this stranger, until those arms tightened again..
His eyes widened a little and he gasped just a bit, sitting up a little more, "A-As much as I love the hugging Zakn.. N-Need to go.. Little higher or.. L'Lower.. My side." He got out, staggered, holding back the winces. He didn't want tom scare him off of holding him. He really loved it, just.. Not there!

"By Lloth!" The taller Drow spluttered quiet suddenly, letting his arms fall at once from around Kalan, "I'm Sorry, I'm so very sorry.." he stated, flustered now by his inattention to the other's less than perfect state of health. He only stayed completely withdrawn from him for a few seconds though, before he simply curled his arms higher up around the other's shoulders. "I am sorry..." He stated again, dropping his head to Kalan's shoulder, nosing it gently for a moment, before just letting his lips brush gently over it in turn.
"Is there anything I can do...?" He asked quietly, lifting his head once again to nose gently at one of the long dark ears. He wasn't used to feeling this kind of connection... it was similar to the one he had with Nath... similar, but nothing like it all at once.. there was the feeling of closeness, protectiveness (yes, he was protective over his older brother) and of pleasure of companny, but... there was more with Kalan... so much potential for growth... so much... well, I suppose you could almost call it possessiveness on the wings that he didn't really think he should be acknowledging yet.

Kalan startled just a little as the sudden outburst of apologies that came from the taller male, his eyes going wide as he clung quite suddenly to Zakn's top to prevent himself from toppling out of the others lap. He needn't have worried too much as the arms were soon back around him, and he smiled a little as he snuggled against him at Zakn's care not to go near his wounded side this time.
"Don't.. Heh, it's okay, Zakn.. I guess I brought it on myslef telling you about the past and.. Making you want to hold me more..?" He queried a little, his small smile broadening at the lips pressed against his bared shoulder which must have started to feel a little cool now that he'd been out from under his blankets for an extended time.
He didn't quite manage to stifle a slightly ticklish little chuckle at the nose poked into his ear and ducked away from it a little, feeling quite at ease once more with the other.
"Hmm.. I don't think so right at the moment.." He mumbled quite happily, stroking his fingers over Zakn's chin and along his jaw for a moment.
"Your commander isn't going to miss you, is he..?" He queried eventually, "Only.. If you came all this way and are as tired as you are.. There's no guarantee that you'll be able to wake up with enough time to get back.. I'm not on duty tomorrow is all and.. If you'd like to stay that is.." He mumbled the last part of his sentence peeking up shyly once again.
He desperately wanted to spend more time with Zakn and it seemed like almost the prefect oppertunity to do so considering their conditions. THere was honestly nothing he wanted more than to just be in his company for a while.. It helped that his company was pleasantly touchy-feely.
"You look like you need some serious R&R regardless with your serious injuries.." He pressed a little kiss just above the stitched wound on the others arm.

"You'd like me to stay...?" He queried, any reply he had be planning to make to the 'telling him about the past' comment. "As in... stay here..? With you...?" He was surprised, most definitely... happy, by Lloth yes! There was no doubt about that in the slightest. He'd had trouble getting Kalan out of his head since the first time he'd met him. "If... you'll let me, sure..? I mean.. I'd love to just crash out... I am pretty tired..." he'd leant back a little, not kissing Kalan's ear of cheek just for the moment. "Nath.. wouldn't mind me not being home..." his expression was genuinely filled with wonder, a small smile was tugging at his lips whether he meant them to be there or not.
It was strange to have found something that made him so happy somewhere that he'd not expected to find more than a moment of fun and humour. Here he had... someone he felt so oddly comfortable with, someone so fun, someone so friendly... and someone so very attractive. There as no way he could deny the fact that Kalan was very attractive in his eyes... he was sure though, that that was not the only reason that he liked Kalan... he just liked almost everything about him.
It was slightly unsettling to actually be liking someone as much as he was starting to...
Unsettling...
But definitely not bad.

Kalan felt his face heat and even if he'd wanted to, he couldn't have hid the shy little smile at Zakn's reaction to his asking him to stay. He was happy in an odd little way that it was so obvious that he was pleased that the other had agreed to,
"Of.. Of course I'd like for you to stay.. I wouldn't have asked if I hadn't meant it.. Well, I don;t think at least!" He replied, ducking his head ever so slightly as he gave Zakn a gentle tug after him as he took another step back into the room.
"It'll be nice to share with someone tonight."

"I'd love to stay with you Kalan..." he stated with a smile still on his lips, cuddling his arms around the smaller male a little tighter, despite the fact he was being tugged into the room with him. Well.. he wasn't complaining, not at all. "I know you wouldn't have.. but.. I had to check.. you know? I mean.. its one of those things you just have to ask.. you know..?" He smiled slightly once again and leant down for a very brief moment to nuzzle the shorter males forehead.
"I can't say I dislike the idea of having someone with me tonight... its kinda nice to have someone to hold onto every now and the, ya know..? Especially when you're in my crazy line of work and all that..." he chuckled, flashing a small grin at Kalan once again. "I'm probably one hell of a fidget though.."

The smaller male closed his eyes, smiling just that little bit more at the close contact and the nuzzle against his forehead. "Hmm.. You said 'you know' a lot just then.. I know what you mean though.." He mumbled quietly, curling his fingers against the taller males chest and into the fabric of his top a little more.
"Guess I'll have to see what it feels like to share my bed with another. It's been a long time.." he replied quietly, bumping his nose and then his lips against Zakn's chin with a very soft little hum of pleasure.
"I think I should sleep against the wall if you're that much of a fidget though. I wouldn't want to be evicted from bed."
He was however, planning on not letting go of the other male.. And he was curious to see if cuddling and snuggling throughout the night was going to be as good as it sounded..
He took another step back, away from Zakn and made an attempt to get free of his arms so he could sit on the edge of the bed and give the other male a shy little grin, patting the place next to him before scooting backwards across the moderately sized bed.

Zakn actually allowed the smaller male to escape from his arms this time, though it was with some slight resistance, as for one reason or another he was struggling to be content to have anything less that proper contact with him.. that'd definitely have to go though, he really didn't need to be that clingy. It would pass, for the moment he could put it down to the fact that what he and Kalan seemed to be forming between them felt like it was going to be something rather special. It was just this feeling he got.. this was something that he wanted to make sure carried on uninterrupted.
With a small smile on his lips, Zakn let himself settle down on the edge of the bed. "Its really kind of you to let me stay Kalan.." he stated quietly, tapping his fingers gently on the top of the bedding, flexing them once before letting his hand fall still again. "I mean really.. I just sort of appear here in the middle of the night, and rather than throwing me out on my ear as a crazy, you're.. you're just wonderful Kalan.." he couldn't help the warm smile that he was now wearing, as his bright blue eyes fixed on Kalan's face for a moment, before he just grinned, flopped sideways and smooched his face against the pillow that was there in a moment of slight sillyness.
He felt somewhat daft, but that wasn't something he was really going to worry too much about. He'd been thought far worse things than daft in his time, so he wasn't going to let his slightly, well, embarrassed behaviour cause him any real discontent just at this moment, he was just too pleased to be able to spend some time with Kalan again. Oh yes indeed...

Kalan laughed gently by means of a response at first as Zakn happily threw himself down onto the bed and made himself at home in the pillows. He resisted the very very strong urge to scoot closer and snuggle down on top of the other males back.. After-all, that wasn't really.. Proper behavior now.. Was it?
"It's quite alright," He answered eventually with a soft but really really happy smile gracing his lips, "I've had to house much crazier people in the past, Zakn.. I'd say you only have a quasi-mild case of the crazies.. ANd besides.." He mumbled fractionally, "I especially like the company.."
He still felt.. Oddly embarrassed when he admitted to.. Feelings he thought he had for the other male.. It was odd, he'd always been a pretty shy individual, but he'd never thought he'd be acting like a blushing virgin.. Well, again anyway.
It was like.. Things mattered a lot more when he said things to his current companion.
The smile still there, though now with a fractionally darker tinge to his cheeks, again, he settled himself down onto he bed gingerly. His injured side safely pressed against the bed.. Then.. Scooted just a bit closer to the other drow.. Then a little more.. Until he had successfully snuggled against the other's side.
