Gaidi grinned mischievously, eyes flashing. She liked the idea of having someone listen to her very much. With a family as big as hers, it was difficult to be heard, let alone be listened to. Drawing a breath and putting on her best 'boss' face, head high and chest puffed out, she thought for a moment.
"I'm not sure yet!" She said, in an authoritative tone, stepping back to allow him to get up. It was only because she wanted him to escape that he was. She could have kept him down in the water as long as she wanted, she thought.
"We could go on a treasure hunt! But I don't know where any treasure is. I can't go on an adventure... Oh! Do you want to help me build my floating thing?"
She splashed away from him, up the bank and into a small bush, from which she produced the framework of a shoddy little raft.

Floating thing? He tilted his head as he lifted himself to his paws and watched her bound toward the bushes. He eyed the framework that suddenly appeared and walked towards it with a curious curve to his brow.
"Why are you making this?" He asked, intrigued by the rough work she'd put into it. He pawed at it softly and turned it over. Such a peculiar little device, almost like something he'd seen in an abandoned human pride before.

"Because!" Gaidi barked eagerly. She laughed and tugged the raft toward the water, carefully letting it float before climbing on to it. She frowned and tried to balance, watching her feet, her expression set in intense focus.
"I want to master the water," she said, speaking low as if this were a secret. "I want to walk on it, and float in the center of it. I want to be able to float on bigger water, too! But this thing," she tilted one way and then slid off the raft, "doesn't work very well."
Sighing, she decided to pull it back to its hiding place. Glancing up at her crew member, she opened her mouth to say something, but her ears twitched and she looked away. Her mom was calling.
"I should head home! But I hope we meet again! You've still got your orders. We have to build a better one of those some time!" And she splashed away, laughing as she went.

Talbot watched the makeshift raft float with great interest, moving forward enough to sniff it. "This definitely won't work in big waters. You'd end up drowning." He frowned and lifted his head. "No. I'll help you make a new one. An even better one."
He perked his ears and listened, cringing slightly at the sound of an adult female. "Alright. I'll see you again one day, Boss. Then we'll build you the best floaty thing."
He watched her leave before trotting over to where she'd hid the raft, pulling it back out and taking in every detail he could. Maybe he'd build her one himself. Then next time he saw her, he could give it to her as a gift.
