Bern giggled when Avery told his daddy to play nice with the other kids, turning to Claudine and shaking her finger at her. "You be nice now, Mommy." She knew her mommy wasn't comfortable around boys, so what she was saying was totally legitimate. Claudine blinked and stared at her daughter as Bern ran off to the swings with Avery in tow.

...Well that was different...

Once they were at the swings Bernadette let go of Avery and grinned, holding an arm out in the direction of the swings as a sort of dramatic presentation. This was where they would be flying! Yay! She grabbed his hand again and dragged him to two open swings next to each other, letting go of Avery to hop up onto one of them and begin to swing a little. "Have you ever done this before~?"

He followed Bern happily trotting after his cohort with a small giggle. The dress made running a bit difficult but it wasn't anything he couldn't deal with as they approached the swings after the grand presentation was made. This was so much fun! When questioned he tilted his head from side to side and couldn't quite recall so he shook his head. "Nope! You'll be the first to teach me how to fly!" Truly energized by this thought he began to fidget in place anxious to get started.

Ethe blinked a little bit and uttered a small tinny sounding chuckle as he held his hands over the shoes on his lap, "Such an odd boy. Are all children like this?" he queried to himself as much as he did to the vampiress next to him.

"Yay! It's easy! Just watch me!" The little witchling assured her 'brother', swinging back and forth more and more until she was swinging quite high. Normally this was something that children her age seemed to be scared of, Bern had seen many kids get this high and start crying and trying to make it stop, but this was fun! It felt like she was really flying! If only she had wings or something.

She kept swinging this way until finally she let go of the swing as it flew up and let herself seemingly 'hover' in midair for what seemed like ages to her but was actually only a split second, flapping her arms a little before falling to the ground and landing not so gracefully on her feet. It wasn't for lack of trying, Bern wanted to try and impress Avery, but she landed so suddenly on her feet that she flailed her arms a little and wobbled unsteadily on her feet before finally falling back on her butt. "That was fun!" Bern said in a fit of giggles, standing up and hurrying back over to Avery. "Now it's your turn!"

"All children are different. No two are alike." Claudine replied, clearly looking anywhere else that wasn't at the strange thing beside her. There was no way that thing was male...or human, it wasn't natural.

The small boy took his place where his 'sister' was formerly after watching her intently as she went through the motions. If that was all it took then he would do his best to try and imitate it and hope for the same success! So he began to swing, but thanks to his tail-plumage he couldn't go very high or it would stop him completely. Avery dangled his legs and swung them in a slightly frustrated manner. Never before had his tail gotten in the way of what he wanted to do, not until now!

He pouted over at Bern, "I can't do it," he said with a small whine and a bit of a lip wobble.

"This one supposes that this is as much of a truth as all things," he replied in that strange tinny monotone not seeming to register that she was not very comfortable with him. Ethe blinked and peered across at nothing in particular.

Bern stood safely to the side, rocking back and forth from heel to toe as Avery began to swing. Yay! He was going to fly! Like a birdie! And it'd be so much fun, and then he'd be happy, and then...wait...was that a tail? Pretty! Maybe it'd help him fly since birds had tails. Yup. That must have been it. Avery was a birdie~! Ah! Why was he stopping? Don't stop! That's not the way to fly! Bern pouted and stepped up to his swing when he said he couldn't do it, bopping him lightly on the head as punishment. "Uh uh! You can too!" She encouraged him, stepping back to eye his tail.

Hm...there had to be something they could do about the drag of that tail. They couldn't just get rid of it! It was attached. Bern suddenly gasped and beamed proudly at Avery, putting her firsts on her hips.

"You can sit on it! It won't hurt, right? And it won't stop you from flying!"

Claudine merely nodded to the man's reply and casually leaned away from him, really hoping he'd understand her body language that she...really didn't want to interact with him. It was nothing personal. She assumed he had a p***s. ...Right? It didn't matter, he was oddly masculine and thus avoided. As long as Bern was safe and happy she wouldn't leave, but as soon as Bern gave the first signs of being finished with Avery they were leaving.

...Was he even breathing? Claudine couldn't tell!

Avery clung to one side of the chained ropes of his swing and leaned his cheek against it as he listened to her with a faintly sulky look on his dark features. As she looked at him ponderously his face became thought filled and jolted when she seemed to have a sudden epiphany. His fingertips traced against the eyelets of the chains quietly and his expression became skeptical. Sit on his tail? He had done it a few times by accident and neither of those times was comfortable nor pleasant. Still if it'd help him fly... He could always trust Sister Bern and that much he felt for certain though he had just met the girl.

"Kay!" He announced finally as he hoped down and made the needed adjustment to his tail and once on the swing he gestured for her to move before he would begin swinging. He didn't want to hurt his only sister! He wanted to fly as soon as possible so that his tail would stop being seated uncomfortably underneath him.

Ethe'oj seemed momentarily unaware of Claudine's dislike of his presence. He blinked once and suddenly stood moving slowly toward an unoccupied portion of the parent's seating but not before uttering an apology, "This one disturbs you, my apologies, good eve Madame."
