Kaimi obediently set her dish down and washed her hands. Then she grabbed the bowl of things-to-be-stirred and made her way over to where Ophelia and Carlisle were camped out. "Hey guys!" She beamed cheerfully at them, as well as everyone else in the room. "Hows it goin'?" Her attention was briefly distracted by Casca's arrival and announcement that he'd brought a vegetarian dish. Naomi had promised her that there would be lots of non-meat products to eat, and she was pleased to discover it was true.

"Everything smells so good!" She added with her customary enthusiasm. Noticing Maddy enter, she waved at the girl. "Maddy! Come sit with us!" The more the merrier, right?

Hearing her old nickname, Ophelia grinned. She waved hastily to Casca, who she recognized from some of her classes, and said, "I don't know, but that orange stuff Kaimi brought looks pretty good."

Prosper, still juggling jobs, placed a bag of cornflakes and a rolling pin on the table for one of the children to claim for work, and followed it up with tomatoes that needed slicing. "You all can pick what you want to do," he said before busying himself with the turkey and the oven.

Unfortunately for Joshua (and possibly the rest of the much-younger bunch), a slim teenager appeared in the doorway and managed to knock a bit awkwardly by kicking the side of her kitten-heeled Mary Janes against the door frame. "Hello?" Delilah offered quietly, almost shy. She could barely be seen beyond the two baskets carried on either arm and the tall box resting in a death-grip in front of her. "Mama said this was where the feast was and I was supposed to bring these things by for everyone." She craned a bit dangerously and more of her face appeared over her burden. "Could someone please help me?"

Delilah gave him a melting smile and a murmured "Thank you" before she wrinkled her nose in thought. "A lot of things," she admitted finally. "Mama got carried away. "This basket," she lifted her right arm, "is a pumpkin pie with pecans and caramel drips. That one," she indicated the one he had taken, "is a lemon custard pie. In the box... Well, there's butternut squash soup, brown-sugar coated ham, succotash, fresh apple sauce and..." She rolled her bright eyes skywards, sighing at her mother's excess. "And a loaf of sourdough bread."

Lucien turned to greet Joshua with a grin but instead found himself being lifted into his mother's chest. Turning to look at her curiously, Grace nodded towards the kitchen sink before taking the child's hands in hers and placing them under the cool water. Balancing the child on one knee as she air dried his chubby hands, Grace mumbled a joyless "happy thanksgiving" to no-one in particular before placing him on the ground with a grunt. Lucien waddled back to Joshua, wiggling his now clean fingers on outstretched arms.

"Hello! My name is Lucien," He said with a blithe smile, still dancing his fingers through the air.

"Luci-en?" Joshua tried repeating his name. "Nickname?" He asked, having had trouble pronoucing it. "Want to play game till they tell what to do?" He asked. "Know any games?"

Lucien watched as the boy struggled to pronounce his name and placed a finger to his mouth.

"Maybe you can call me Luc," he said with an enthusiastic nod. "And we can play make believe! That's where you pretend to be some'fing that you aren't really, like a unicorn or a pirate or a dinosaur, and you use your 'magination." Lucien, who had been making various feverent gestures throughout his dialogue, looked at Joshua hopefully.

Kaimi ran over to Delilah and gave her a hug. "wow... you look really good!" She admired. "Do you want to come sit with us?" Kaimi motioned to the table where she, Ophelia, Carlisle and Maddy had settled to their tasks.
