His eyes slid shut for the most part, but they relaxed a little when Koy shared even more. It must have been a hard blow to have to forget her, but even harder when her son left to be raised by her best friend instead of herself.
"I'm sorry," he offered, moving his head closer to hers to return the affection. He was sorry for what he had done, sorry for what had happened to her. But he was glad that they seemed to have been brought together after all the bad things had happened to them both.
"Thank you for trusting me enough to tell me these things. I know that I wouldn't have been able to just tell someone about my past without knowing that they would accept me. Like you have." His head lowered and his cheek brushed against her neck, resting there.

“Let’s leave this place.”
She spoke out after a soft pause; her ears slowly pinned backwards as she gazed up at him slowly.
“Let’s just go far away from this place; take me somewhere new.”
Koy’s brown eyes narrowed as she sighed and looked out at the waters.
“I want to start my life over.”

He smiled gently at her and nodded, nuzzling the top of her head.
"Alright. Let's go."
He led her away from the watering hole, away from all their troubles. They left the past behind them as they started over. Officially for Koy, and a second time for Chardon. They were starting anew, together. And he was excited.
