((Hahaha, he IS a weirdo XDDD a cute weirdo XD lawlz.))
Alice paused sifting through articles of clothing and looked at Abel. She raised an eyebrow. "I wasn't aware of nudist colonies in Utah..."
Talen gave an awkward laugh from somewhere deeper in the shop. "Yeah, well... they ARE everywhere. DON'T JUDGE, ALICE. JUST DON'T JUDGE."
Alice looked at Abel more thoughtfully, her forehead wrinkled. "Alright." She said faintly. Returning to her mission she unearthed a few shirts in varying shades of blue. Gripping them by their hangers she held a few up to Abel and tilted her head this way and that. "Yeah... one of these... and this one..." She put a few back and took a few off and held up a few more things. "And maybe some nice collard shirts... you seem like a collard shirt kind of guy. And an argyle sweater. OH! You would look REALLY. Yes. This colour too."
The ones that were lucky enough to go with Abel's eyes she piled into his arms. "There you are. Talen! Did you find the pants?"
"Uh. YEAH." He called back.
"We need some Khakis. Come on!" Gripping him by his elbow she gently tugged him after her. "We'll figure out your size. You're about as skinny as anything... so it's smaller than Talen... hmmmm." She led him through a jungle of clothing racks and made it to the back where there were shelves of pants. "Here we go." Reaching up she grabbed a pair of light coloured pants and held them up to Abel's waist. "Uh... No." Tossing those at Talen, who caught them hurriedly, she reached up and grabbed a much smaller pair.
"He's got such a small waist line. Geesh."
Talen laughed. "Guess he doesn't eat much."
"Guess not. Or he's just naturally that thin. Must be nice!"
Her brother rolled his eyes a little and Alice stuck her tongue out at him. "Ah ha..." She said as she held the second pair of pants up to his thin frame. "I've done it! These!" Grabbing a few different pairs of pants in that same size, she piled that into Abel's arms as well. "To the DRESSING ROOMS!"
"To the dressing rooms!" Talen echoed and together they both led him to the changing rooms and popped him in one. "Hopefully she didn't get you anything too dorky,." He said through the door and took a seat in one of the waiting chairs.
"He'll look only ten times better than you. Girls will be all over him. He's already better looking than you even." She mocked.
Talen just laughed and shook his head. "Don't feel like you HAVE to get them if you don't like them, Abel. Alice is kind of a bully!"

"Nudists? Well...not really...it's just that up there..." Then Talen decided to answer for him and Abel shrugged. He let Alice do her work, browsing through clothes and put things up to him and inspecting how he looked. He enjoyed how much fun she seemed to have just by picking clothes out for him. Then she pushed a pile of clothes into his arms and he grunted slightly at the weight.
"Goodness me. You sure picked out a lot!" He laughed and followed after her. "I'm not really THAT skinny..." He retorted, furrowing his brows slightly. Even as a kid he was always called scrap or scrawny or any of the names little children could come up with to taunt him by. He was used to it, but after being in heaven for a long time, he had forgotten about all the name calling...at least name calling that was meant to hurt, not just to play around.
"I like to eat, really." He said with a little smile as they tossed faces to each other. "I wish I had a sister or brother..." he trailed off as he was led away again, this time to the dressing rooms. The clothes almost blocked his vision as he tried to balance them all in his pale arms. "Oh!" He exclaimed as he was pushed into a dressing room with the door closing behind him.
He laid the clothes down and for the first time in years saw himself in a mirror. Moving an arm he watched the person looking back do the same. "Oh wow...I haven't aged a bit..." He hadn't seen what he looked like for a long time, and to see that he still looked 16 was both disheartening and a bit of a relief. At least he wasn't old looking. "No scars either..." He leaned towards the mirror and pushed at his cheeks.
When he heard Talen calling out to him, he looked away and laughed. "She isn't a bully. She just seems strong willed, that's a good thing to have in a lady." After a moment he pulled off the jacket and watched as his wings unfolded and knocked into the wall, then some clothes, sending them down to the floor. "Oh dear..." Bending over, he knocked the light over head, almost shattering it. "Ahhhhh." He quickly folded them back in and stood still for a minute, wondering what to do.
After he closed his eyes and thought solely on making his wings go away, they vanished. A few feathers fell to the floor and on his head. A wide smile grew on his face and he jumped a little in excitement. "Talen! I made them go away!" He was about to run out of the dressing room, but realized he was naked. "Wait a second and I'll show you!" He chuckled as he pulled on some pants and a sweater, easily fitting into them. After he looked at them in the mirror he opened the door and raised his arms. "See! All I had to do was think about them leaving...and they left."
He looked to Alice with a smile just as a feather fell into his face. He wrinkled his nose and blew it off. "You picked out some very nice clothes. You have mighty good taste."

((AFTER THANKSGIVING POST. I'm so full.))
"Where did you say you found him again?" Alice was asking once more, eyes full of suspicion.
Talen was avoiding her gaze and promptly faced in the opposite direction, chin in his hands. "Um. Like I said. Bus... Utah... Lost luggage."
"Talen..."
He didn't turn around.
"Taaaalen."
"M'hm?"
"You KNOW I can tell when you're lying." She said.
"I'M NOT!" He said swinging around to face her, but then Abel was yelling at him that "he made them go away". He slowly put his face in his hand.
"Made WHAT go away?" Alice asked with a strange look on her face.
"Uhm." He said, and then Abel said he was going to show them. "Uh! No! That's alright, Abel! I BELIEVE YO-...you." Talen finished.
Alice got out of her chair looking at him intently. Slowly she drew closer and peered into his face. She then bent and picked up the feather that he had blown from his nose and put it close to her eyes for inspection. And then she turned to Talen.
"Where did you say you found him?" She repeated, more sternly and in her big sister voice.
Talen got to his feet. "Well..."
"He's..." She turned and looked at him again. "What are you?"
Talen looked to Abel and then to his sister. "He's... an angel." He said quietly.
She looked at her brother and then turned back to Abel. "Is this true?" She said so quietly Talen could barely hear her. "Are you an angel, Abel?"
((WHEEEE.))

Abel leaned back a bit when Alice got close to him, a blush creeping on his face. "Ummm...hi." He said with a nervous smile. When she turned around he let out a soft sigh and pulled at his sweater, turning around to look in the mirror again. "It feels really comfortable. Nice and soft. It reminds me of the blankets my mom made." He paused when Talen spoke to Alice. Looking over his shoulder, he raised his brows at Talen as he told his sister who Abel was.
As Alice turned back around Abel felt cornered. The color on his cheeks drained slightly and his eyes grew wide and nervous. If there was one thing he was horrible at, it was lying. All his human life, and after life, he could not lie well at all. "Er. Pardon?" He laughed and tugged at one of his ears, wincing. "Well my mom used to call me an angel. But only my mom." His blue eyes shifted over Alice's shoulder to look at Talen, pleading for some sort of help.
"Let's try on the other clothes! I'm sure we can find some better stuff, right?" He had no idea what he was supposed to. He had lost the bag that had whatever Hans said he needed, probably a rule book or something on these kinds of situation. In the back of his mind he prayed for some sort of answer, something to tell him how to handle this. "I do like this sweater though. A shame I have no money to buy it with. I told Talen, but I'm kind of broke..." His cheeks were burning now and he took a step back, turning towards the open dressing room again.

((TEH POST.))
Alice stood back, a hand on her hip. There was a very scrutinizing look in her eyes.
When Abel looked to Talen for help all he could do was shrug. He had TRIED hadn't he? His sister wasn't an idiot, and the things Abel had said and done did not help at ALL. The jig was up. "At least... I think that's what he is." He put in in what he thought was a helpful voice.
Alice didn't seem to hear him, all her attention was on Abel. She reached out and gripped his arm. "You can tell us." She said searching his face. "Is that what you are, Abel?"
Talen leaned forward in his chair to sit on the very edge.

Abel looked over his shoulder again with a pathetic look on his face. He felt his hands get clammy. It all brought back memories from when he was last down here. That strange feeling in his stomach, the light feeling as though he were flying, or falling. "Ah, this is quite a predicament." He muttered and turned back to face them, rubbing at his hair some more, looking down at the ground in the process. He had no idea if he was able to tell them. He had a sense he could trust them. But if he just went around blurting that he was from heaven on some holy mission who knew what would happen?
He surely knew if it had happened to him, if he was in the same shoes as Alice or Talen, than he'd be completely confused, in disbelief, but more important, it'd have put pressure on him. He would have never believed himself if it were him. He didn't want to worry them more than he already had. "You see..." He twisted his bare foot against the carpet, eyes following the pattern threaded into it.
"That's an awfully over used term don't you think?" He laughed nervously and glanced up, smiling at them as he continued to twist his foot against the carpet. He didn't want to say much else, still confused and lost. He felt like he was swimming upstream with no place to go.

((WA!))
Talen and Alice watched Abel squirm under their gazes. Talen put his face in his hand, regretting getting his sister involved at all.
"Listen, Abel. I don't know what you are... I mean, you could be... you couldn't be.... but what does it matter. Am I right, Alice?"
Alice turned to look her brother, at his expression. She turned back to Abel. "Y-yeah..." She said softly. "Yes... well." She seemed to mentally shake herself. "Yeah! So, what are you waiting for? Go try on some more clothes, huh? I wanna see how they look." She smiled.
Talen breathed out a sigh of relief.
"Go on, go on!" She ushered him back into the changing room, turned to leave, but turned around again to hug him lightly before striding out. She then returned to sit beside her brother, a strange emotion on her face.
"Either way. He's in trouble. So, let's help a friend out?" Talen asked her.
Alice stopped staring into space to look at her brother again. She smiled. "Absolutely." She agreed.

Abel sighed at exactly the same time Talen did, feeling as though a weight was lifted off his shoulders, and not just the weight of his wings. At the mention of trying some more clothes on, his face lit up and he nodded. "Yeah!" He then was about to whirl around and head back into the changing room before Alice hugged him.
He felt his cheeks turn red and he smiled awkwardly at her. He pat her back and when she let go, he closed the door and moved to the fallen pile of clothes. He still had no idea why he was here, but at least he was here with some nice people. Even if he did feel alone, he wasn't really so alone.
He spent the rest of the time in the dressing room, trying on things and showing them to Alice, who would either criticize the color or fit, or smile and tell him how cute he looked in them. After 30 minutes or so, Abel was done and came out in a collared shirt and a dressy vest along with some jeans. A single blue scarf hung around his neck.
"Ummm...I wish I had some money for all of this...but I am stripped down poor." He bit at his lower lip and scratched his head, his blonde curls fluffing up slightly. "If there's any way I can pay you back for any of these articles of clothing, just let me know. I feel just awful making you two do all these favors for me." His eyes looked wet as he studied the two, as if he were about to cry, but the embarrassed smile seemed to say otherwise.
((Wheeee. I'm sure he'll find some way to pay them back. Hahaha.))

"Eh! Forget about it!" Talen said lightly. "I mean, the money feels like nothing compared to not having to see you in that skirt thing you were in."
Alice punched her brother lightly. "What he MEANS is... it's really no problem! I'm sure there is something you can do for us." She nodded her head lightly and led them all to the register. Talen had the burden of carrying all of Abel's outfits up to the counter.
She quickly offered her credit card to swipe when it was all rung up and moment's later they were headed out with a couple of shopping bags.
"Alright!" She said and the paused as she looked at her watch. "... Talen?"
"M'hmm?" He readjusted his shopping bags.
"School JUST let out. Did you SKIP AGAIN?" She demanded, suddenly in full big sister mode.
Talen flinched. "Do we really need to go over this NOW?" He said pitifully. "I mean... It's already done and over with. Not like I can go back now and work overtime... Can we just go home and talk about it... you know, later?"
Alice crossed her arms and made a very disappointed face. "Fine. After dinner. I won't forget."
"M'hmm..." He said and looked away. "Well, I guess you two can head back. I actually have work, and all that. Unless you wanna come with me, Abel? It's not really that entertaining. Hanging out with my sister isn't much better though, so I'll leave it up to you." He grinned at him.
((uh... yeah... unless you had other ideas. XD *does a dance*))

Abel smiled greatfully at them. "Thank you so much. This really means so much to me. I'm very grateful." He looked over at Talen as he took the clothes and laughed a bit. "Sorry..." He rubbed at his hair and watched as the lady at the counter used some thing that threw out lasers to magically get the price. "WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THAT!" He gasped and was about to take the laser gun to examine but the woman slightly gave a glare and Abel shrunk back, looking extremely apologetic. "Sorry...it's just that...you could hurt someone with that...I think. I one read a book that talked about the future, and it said they'd have these ray guns that would cause someone to vanish. That sure looks like one."
After a few more glares from the counter lady they were outside again. He was full of smiles as he walked along side his new friends. He looked as though he just popped out of a clothing magazine, modeling for their clothes. He pulled some of the scarf around his neck and lifted his chin as the two siblings started talking again. "Oh my...you shouldn't ditch school you know. It's an important thing in a young boy's life. I wish I could have finished school, my dream was to move to the United States after I graduated and go to Harvard and see everything the free states had to offer. But I guess I've achieved part of that dream! After all, I am here." He seemed to be talking to himself as the two continued talking over him. His voice drifted off into a whisper and he glanced to the side to see a group of girls, book bags on, giggling and looking at Abel. "Good Afternoon." He made a little bow and all the girls burst out into giggles, blushes creeping on their faces.
When Talen began talking to him, he looked back and blinked, looking thoughtful for a minute. "Work? Hopefully you aren't working in a coal mine or anything. My father worked in one of those awful places. That's all I remember of him really...covered in soot all the time." After another minute he looked to Alice and smiled. "I'll stay with Alice. After all, I don't want to get in the way of your work! But maybe someday you can take me so I can see what you do! I'd love that." He grinned and moved closer to Alice.
"I'm sure your sister is very entertaining! She has been the whole time so far!"
((Hahaha not yet, I don't! But I will sooner or later. Usually things just present themselves to us as we go along. Haha.))

((OKAY! POST POST POST))
"Alright, Abel." Talen said with a pat on his shoulder. "I'll see you around dinner time then... and no... no coal mines here in the good U.S." He laughed. "I work at a good ol' minimum wage job with a really butt ugly uniform, but it's a good way to meet cute girls. It's all good." He grinned and parted with his sister and new founded friend at the next cross walk... not before imparting Abel's shopping bags into Alice's hands. She scowled at him.
Over his shoulder he called. "If Alice gives you too much trouble you just let me know. I'll take care of her later." And was gone with a laugh.
Alice rolled her eyes slightly. "Brothers." She said and then smiled at Abel. "Alright then! To our house. Maybe you can help me make dinner? Talen really packs it away after work and maybe if I have a second person to help cook we might have the means in which to SATISFY HIS HUNGER." She laughed lightly and gently tugged Abel by his arm. "It's not too far, I promise... I hope the hills here aren't wearing you out."
And together they walked to a neighborhood of tightly packed houses on a great sloping hill. "It's not really OUR OUR house... I mean, we have to rent it and we share it with this single guy who's at work all the time. You'll hardly see him though and he gets half of the house to himself. So... yeah. He shouldn't bother you." Alice said quietly as led the way up the stairs to their door. "I would suggest avoiding him... he's rather... er... hm. He's not nice like you, let's just say."
She then slid her key into the lock and worked it open. "Ah ha... alright! You first." She said with a smile.

Abel waved after Talen as he trotted off and turned his attention onto Alice. "I'd love to help make dinner! I haven't cooked in a long time though." He tilted his head upwards in thought, wondering just when he cooked last. "No matter, I used to cook all the time for my mom. So at least I have some training under my belt." He happily walked beside Alice. It was a pleasurable walk, the crisp air, with some sort of strange smell, and the beautiful gray clouds. It was just amazing.
"What a cute little place you live at!" He exclaimed when they got to their house. "Oh I'm sure he's a very nice gentleman, to let your family live with him." His smile brightened and he waited for Alice to open the door. "Maybe we can cook him some dinner too." When the door was open he was about to wait for Alice to go in, "Ladi-" He blinked and studied her for a second. "Oh...but I thought...hmmm..." After a minute he shrugged and went into the house, all smiles as he looked around.
"So do you live with your parents too?"
((Hahaha...something will happen, sooner or later...D: ))

((Hahaha, suure suuuure... POST BEFORE I GO TO BED))
Alice laughed slightly at how he seemed baffled she wanted him to go first. She followed after and closed the door soundly. "Cute? Pffft... you say such funny things." Brushing passed him she disappeared further down the narrow hall, but paused at his last question. She looked at him quickly and looked away. Smiling a little more wanly she shuffled on.
"I can show you the bathroom and stuff if you need that anytime soon, but otherwise follow me!" She called from somewhere within. "I'll get you all aquatinted with the kitchen!"

((Hahaha if you have any IDURS you must let me know. >:[ I've had a couple, but they'd happen a bit later...))
Abel gently put down his bags by the door and slipped off his new shoes. "It is a cute place." He reminded her as he turned around and examined the inside of the house. "Reminds me of my house, except a lot smaller...and...less clean." His wrinkled his nose as he passed some dust, his eyes looking around for a duster.
He too paused when Alice did and he looked to her. The air seemed to thicken as she looked away and Abel stayed where he was. He could sense the uneasiness that had occurred, it caused the hair on his neck to rise uncomfortably. So he guess they didn't live with their parents. A frown made way on his face and looked up at the walls. "I shouldn't press it." He whispered and ran a finger over one of the walls, then looked at the dust on his fingers.
"But I should clean this place soon." He shook the dust off his hand and followed after Alice towards the kitchen. When he caught up with her he put a hand to her arm with a reassuring smile. "I know I've just known you for an hour or two...but if you ever need someone to talk to...or someone just to be there for you, I'll always be here...even when I leave. So if you ever need anything, I can sure try to help you."
He still didn't know why he was here, but there was a reason for everything, and he figured having Talen find him along with his sister was part of the plan, for He always had a plan for everything. Right now the only thing he could do was help them, maybe not in any physical way, but in a spiritual, emotional, and protective way. He was no guardian angel, but he could try to be theirs as much as he could.
((Awwww...what a sweetie! LOL.))

((LOL, LONG OVERDUE POST IS LONG OVERDUE. AND D'AAAAW.))
Alice laughed from the kitchen. "You DO NOT need to clean our house." She said and shook her head. "You're an odd one, Abel." She continued to laugh looking genuinely pleased, her eyebrows were furrowed with bemusement.
She then moved about to get an idea of what she had to work with for dinner, but it was then she felt Abel at her arm. She half turned in surprise and caught his eyes which were that shocking blue. She then exhaled very softly, at a moment lost for words.
"I..." Alice started, laughed and then quieted feeling her face flush. "I, uh..." She licked her lips and titled her head at him. "Thank you." She said quietly, knowing just how much a promise from him actually meant (it made her eyes burn with grateful tears, but of course she'd never shed them) and felt at a loss for just what more to say, what to do to show her thanks and decidedly kissed him gently on the cheek.
"You're sweet." She said. "I refuse for a gentleman such as yourself to clean my house. Now quit the sap act and help me with dinner, hm?" Alice slid from his grip gently and moved about gathering things in which to cook with. "Talen will be home before we know it."
