Marten took the canteen and screwed the top off with a relieved sigh. He sipped the water slowly, pausing for breath.
"No idea," he panted. "Just woke up myself." He was beginning to feel better. Water cured everything. (( 3nodding ))

Jacobo sighed, "Alright, let's get going, any idea where to start?" he asked, scratching his forehead. The blood on his clothes was really bugging him, what if the guy whose blood this was had a disease? Contracting something like AIDS would most definitely prevent him from being the best, and that was something that Jacobo just couldn't stand for.

Marten rolled his eyes. "Didn't I just say that I just woke up? How would I know that?"
He paused, getting a hold on his tongue. "Sorry. Didn't mean to be rude. I really have no idea. Maybe...the way the vans were going?" He pointed to the horizon in that direction.

In the direction he had pointed, there was a small creature with a fishlike head, a reptilian body, and rat limbs digging through the van.

Marten froze. "Oh s**t," he said quietly. He began to back away slowly.
"Anyone know how to handle that thing? Cause if not, I say we get out of here."

"Alrigh-" Jacobo started to say before cutting himself off, "What the ******** is that thing?" he asked, pointing in the direction of the fish/reptile/rat thing, "It's hella feo."
He approached the creature cautiously.

One one hand, the creature was freaky-looking.
On the other hand, it was the size of a large rat and didn't exactly have the most threatening of body parts. It rummaged through the van's wreckage.

Jacobo walked over to the van and attempted to pick the creature up by it's rear end, keeping ready to pull away if it tried to bite him.

The creature spun around and bit him before he could draw back.
With its fish mouth.
This was, suffice it to say, not the most threatening experience Jacobo had experienced in his life.

Marten couldn't help laughing. "Aww. It's kinda cute, in a hideous sort of way." He poked it. "What do we do with it?"

The creature backed up a bit and returned to sorting through the van.

"Ow, puta." Jacobo swore as he flailed in an attempt to fling the creature from his body. He moved to stomp on the creature, "Stupid, rat-fish...thing! It is not cute!"

Marten held out a hand, moving between Jacobo and the thingy.
"Whatcha doing, little guy?" he asked softly, looking to see what it was rooting through. He saw...

A small collection of rings - four or five - which the ratfish threw off to the side. It continued digging.
