Relaxation Time
Rosalind was sitting on one of the plush sofas of the bar, her long legs crossed and she was slightly slouched. It had been a bit of a long day but now she was able to relax with her son in a manner that caused her a great amount of joy, "My sweet little Hector." She murmured, wrapping an arm around him and snuggled him close.
The boy gave a purring sound, leaning against her in a delighted manner. While he snuggled against her Alejo slithered around him, looking at the necklace that hung around her neck. The eel tail nudged at it before its mouth opened to grab hold of one of the colorful 'petals' and tugged on it, trying to steal the pretty, shiny item. It took the tail only a moment to realize that it was tied around her in a manner that wasn't about to be easily stolen. It didn't stop Alejo from trying though, tugging more and more, harder and harder until Rosa finally laid a hand over the elegant relic.
"Now, now Alejo. No trying to take what doesn't belong to you." She scolded lightly, having to real force behind her voice it was just a gentle warning to the eel.
Alejo gave a bit of a glare and there was a spark from him that jolted her just a bit, causing her to jump and sit up a bit from her relaxed position. Her amethyst eyes gave the eel a warning looking before she moved the relic, tucking it under her shirt where it would remain safe from possible theft by the eel. Hector watched the proceedings, hard to miss since Alejo was a part of him and then looked up at Rosa's face, ears turning forward. He was curious as to what the necklace was, he'd never see that particular one before... it was shiny and pretty! Looked like a flower too. He would ask to see it if he could and if Alejo hadn't already gotten it taken away.
Rosa seemed to notice his interest and gave a smile, scratching him behind one of his pretty, furry ears, "Its a special necklace, we need to take good care of it while it does its job." She told the boy with a smile.
Hector's ears flicked back and forth, his curiosity rising. The necklace had a job? How could it have a job? He squirmed, trying to get all of his many limbs to work as he wanted to work, wanting to get closer to see the necklace, to try to figure out what it was that it would do, what its job was! In his excitement his tail started to wag causing Alejo to move in a waving, slithering type motion.
The woman watched them both closely before finally giving a smile and took the necklace back out so they could see it, "We will have another family member soon, one that will appear from this." She explained from them.
Both starred at it, the gears in their minds whirling as they seemed to try to figure out how a necklace could cause a child to appear... but found themselves unable to figure it out. Then again they knew all about weird things that could happen, they were a prime example of just that. As such they could do nothing but believe her words and stare, wanting and watching the necklace. Another family member? That sounded interesting.

A Ghost of the Past
Rosalind was standing on the small stage that was the focal point of the main room of Dream. Her voice was filling the room, the sound captivating almost all of those who listened including Hector who was sitting on the lap of another of the gorgeous hostess. His tall ears were twitching as he listened, eyes wide. She was in a glittering though somewhat slinky dress that helped in drawing the eyes of even the men who weren't interested so much as her singing as just her in general. Rosa was a songstress known as much for her looks as she was for her voice and while the singing was her main jobs most days it didn't mean that she didn't have any customers. There were a few who came to Dream for her and only her, refusing to see others. They were men with grand amounts of money who even the unicorn woman wouldn't and couldn't ignore.
As her song ended she opened her purple eyes, looking out over the crowd and she couldn't help but show the smallest amount of surprise at someone who was sitting in the front row, smoking a cigarette, clapping the loudest. Veles... She wiped away the surprise on her face and replaced it with a serene smile as she left the stage and another woman took her place, sitting behind the piano and set to playing it.
"Rosalind." He man murmured, reaching out to take her hand, lifting it up so that he could brush his lips over it, "Its been a long time."
The unicorn gave a nod of her head, "Yes, it has." She murmured, taking him in. He was as beautiful as ever, his dark hair, deeply tanned skinned, and those eyes... so very blue one could drown in them. She motioned for him to follow her to one of the plush booths where the woman with Hector was sitting, "Thank you for watching him."
The woman nodded, rising to her feet, her fluffy fox tail wagging behind her, "No problem at all love." She said, giving a smile and ruffled Hector's hair before walking off. Everyone at Dream knew of Veles and knew it was best to leave Rosalind to deal with him.
The pale haired woman leaned back in her seat and drew Hector over to sit near to her, running her fingertips over over one of his ears then lifted her gaze to watch her guest, waiting patiently. It took him a long moment before he finally took up the seat across from her and even after he was seated he looked a bit uncomfortable.
"What's with the kid?" Velese finally asked when his curiousity over the matter became to much for him as he eyed the rather strange look boy who was sitting along side the unicorn woman. His blue eyes held the slightly amount of surprise at the presence, he'd never heard of a child being allowed into Dream especially one so young.
"He is in my care." She said simply before she leaned forward to rest her elbows on her knees, "The real question is why you are here today Veles, you know that your not exactly a person who is all to welcome here anymore by most of the girls." Rosalind was a strong woman and it was because of that strength that she dealt with the men like Veles before the bouncers were called in.
"I know, I know." He muttered, he seemed to be trying to wrap his mind around it. The boy was in her care? In what was? Was he her son, "So you finally found someone then?" He asked hesitantly.
Rosalind gave a little chuckle, "Mmm, no. Not quite yet but that didn't stop me from taking him in and then later a second child." She told him. It was easier to talk with him now she realized. Only a few months ago she might have found this difficult but now it would seem as if old wounds had started to heal, "You don't need to be so tense Veles, I am fine now." She sounded quite delighted over this feeling and realization. She was fine.
Veles gave a bit of a smile, "I am glad to hear that." He murmured before he looked back and forth, a curious look on his face, "So where is the other one?"
She lifted a hand up to lay it upon the necklace that was hanging around her neck, "He is resting right here." She told him, "He will be born from it when he is ready." As she spoke the chimera boy crawled up the unicorn woman, lifting one of his many hands up toward that necklace. He liked it, it was pretty and it was doing an important job! While he was wrapped up in stroking the necklace in a delighted way Alejo was watching Veles in a silent, glaring manner.
The eel tail didn't like the man for some reason... he couldn't put his finger on it but it rubbed the eel the wrong way.
"When you have these two sons your still going to be working here?" Veles asked, showing his normal dislike of the job that the unicorn had. He was jealous of the company she kept, of her other men, any of it... it had been the big problem between them though not the biggest problem. The biggest problem was that she had told him she didn't want to quit, that she loved the job, loved the people, loved Dream.
"Yes, the Madame of the place told me that I would be the next to inherit Dream when she retires. I won't be quitting for a long time. I will be taking care of the place and the girls when my time comes." She told him.
"And the children? Will they understand?" He asked, his hackles rising just a little.
She gave a little shrug of her shoulders, "I can't tell you what they will think, they are their own people after all. I guess the future will tell us what will happen, what they think." She said as she wrapped one arm around Hector and drew him to her to snuggle him close.
Hector started to purr in a rather loud manner at this, half for the snuggles and half because the necklace was now within reach. He lifted his four hands all up to catch hold of it so he could inspect it, looking it over, mewing at it. He wanted for it to respond but it didn't... it merely glittered in the lights in response to his attention to it.
Veles watched the way she gave attention to the boy in her lap and he finally gave a nod as he rose to his feet, "I got a promotion in my job. I thought I would come by to try once again to get you to come away with me but... I guess this is all what you have chosen." He murmured, looking around them. A bar, two boys, and a bunch of women that would look to her for guidance... it was what she wanted, what she had chosen... he gave a soft sigh before he turned and walked away.
It was purifying for them both, to be freed from their first brush with childish and possessive love.
"So little Hector? Shall we order some wine and celebrate?" She asked of him, waving to one of the other girls asking for a glass of wine for herself and a cup of juice for her son. A toast to the future she thought, her heart freed now to seek out new love if she could find one that would allow her to continue on with her work.
