If Fyja had been the type to express it beyond just ever so slightly firming his jaw, he'd have probably started yelling...well talking loudly at least. Him? Impolite? Hardly. She just didn't know how he talked. Obviously he was a far far better listener than she was.

"Conversationalist?" He asked. What had she said? Converlationist? Interesting. "Mother doesn't...say much." Heck, his whole family was weird when you got down to it. Father talked in monotone, mother barely ever got above a whisper, and half his siblings could be seen doing either or the other at any given time. And Fyja listened.

Or really, he just talked different. If it was his sister here, not this stranger, they'd be in the middle of a full blown conversation by now. They talked with words. Fyja talked with eyes, ears, tail, paws, sides, muscles, breathing, stretching, sighing, glancing, shrugging, nodding, and the ever so slight shift of weight.

but maybe he'd have to talk to this odd cub, if only so she didn't get the wrong idea.

Amira sat and stared at him. Considering her age, you wouldn't think she'd be able to look unnerving at all, but by the Gods she managed it. Speaking of Gods, where was Mwokoti? She was still stranded here until she got back, ditch or no ditch.

Finally, after what felt like forever, she sat up a bit more and batted the side of his face with a paw. It was a gentle sort of slap, with no harmful intentions behind it. The follow up was Amira jumping back and crouching down, save her back side, which wiggled in the air.

The look on her face was challenging.

As if in response to Amira's look, Fyja's own expression shifted, subtly replying to the disconcerting look on her face. He could read body language like nobody's business (obviously being fluent in it).

He tensed as soon as she straightened, though he took the 'blow' full force, letting her bat his face a bit. He blinked, and the slightest amused smile crept onto his face as he rose. He seemed to be moving to mirror her butt-wiggle pose...but then, as soon as his hind legs coiled, he pounced, bouncing into the female and hopefully sending her tumbling.

His own look was indeed challenging, but in a much more subdued way. Call it poker face, if you will. Even with the slight curling of his lips, he was generally calm. Wrestling was something he could understand at least!

Amira rolled like... something that rolled. She was just a cub, she didn't have many worldly experiences to compare things to, okay? "Oof!"

Reaching up she pawed him in the face again, kicking her back legs enough to knock him off, then taking the opportunity to pounce him as playful revenge. Plus a little added ear gnawing.

The entire match was monologued with much a "rawr" and squeaking. Because she couldn't really roar yet.

Fyja wriggled away from the face-paw, trying not to step on his new opponent while still trying to keep her pinned...which of course didn't work at all. So when she kicked him off, it worked, and he toppled over.

He pawed at Amira's side, trying to get his ear free, making his own little grr noises, which really weren't that much better than hers.

He eventually got a paw into her face, and gently tried to push her away, aiming to pounce again as soon as he was free. He'd get her!

Amira rolled away from him and soon found herself pounced again. She squeaked at the assault and squirmed, paws flailing wildly. Curses! She'd had such a good grip on his ear too.

Suddenly the cub's eyes became faded, almost lacking pupils completely. Seconds later, she blinked back to reality and pushed him off, scurrying away from him and toward the ditch.

"Hey! I saw something! There's something down there!"

The earlier woe of being trapped didn't seem to hold much worth now. Amira didn't hesitate to scramble down the vine and back into it, to a specific spot, where she began digging as fast as her tiny paws could.

"Come here and help me!"

Fyja blinked. What? Great! He'd just gotten her free and she was head first down the ditch again! How d'you like that?

Wait...she'd seen something? Why hadn't she mentioned it before? Weird girl. Well she wanted help so..."A-ah!" He mumbled, scrambling after her to look down over the edge. Should he jump in? The vine looked stable...but if they were both stuck no good would come of it. Could she dig whatever she'd seen up on her own?

Well he could always boost her out if he had too. So with a little nod he was down in the hole, nudging Amira out of the way just enough to make room to share the task. Dig dig dig..

Amira made one of those faces at him when he nudged her aside. Just for a second. There wasn't enough time to waste with grudges when there was so much digging to do!

Had they been older it wouldn't have felt like as much as it did now. For the paws of a tiny cub it was more work. It took longer, but they did succeed. She nudged him away and grabbed onto the object with her teeth, tugging it back.

The necklace, crafted of beads, had obviously been buried for quite a while. Amira sat the object down and continued.

"Some really old guy buried all his stuff here!"

Fyja was far too intent on the digging to catch Amira's face at his intrusion. If he had seen it, likely he would have wondered at it. She had asked him to help, right?

He backed up when she pushed him. She'd seen...whatever it was first, she was allowed to get it. A necklace? It was nice, but it needed washed, he thought.

"...Really?" Oh my! A whole word from him! And then..."Here..." He moved in to take the necklace and toss it up over Amira's head. Now she wouldn't drop it while digging.

The dirt didn't bother her any. She and her sister had once had a contest about who could get the most mud on them and this didn't even begin to compare.

Amira looked down at the object observantly, determined it was worth it and kept going in the hopes of finding more. "Do you see anything else?"

Hopefully, because her paws were starting to get sore.

Fyja peeked over her shoulder. "No. Here." He nudged her, more forcefully, and took her place digging. He'd spare her paws, his were fresh. Or at least fresher. Maybe they'd find more, but if nothing came up in the next minute...wait!

He bent down, face in the dirt, and shoved it about. Something was there! A moment later he pulled back, unearthing a strip of what once must have been a rather fine pelt. Now it was so dirty that the fur had matted down, and there were only bits of it left. That was a bit disappointing. That is, until he tossed it over his shoulder and it landed behind him. Something shiny clattered out, having been tangled in the folds.

He turned and looked. A tiny...something? He didn't know what it was, but it was sure pretty!

(It's a lil' seashell, I'm thinking. :3)

Whoosh! through the air.

Amira scoffed at the careless tossing of the treasure. The pelt was still plenty good! The shell ended up as an added bonus which she admired with wide eyes. She managed to get the pelt on her back and scooped the shell up in her mouth.

She returned to her previous place and discarded the shell on Fyja's head, and the pelt on his back. Like a robe. Except not.

"There, you look so beautiful!"

Fyja let Amira drape the hide on him. Well wasn't he just regal! It was a perfect cloak for a cub, but for an adult at best it'd be nothing more than a scrap. Well regardless. His tufty hair seemed to hold the shell in place well enough, and as long as he didn't lean too far over it stayed on.

A small chuckle escaped him. "I'm king." He mumbled, more to himself than anyone. Hmm. It didn't seem fair that he had two things where Amira had one though. What sort of gentlelion was he?

Back to the dirt, he scratched away at it. Nothing, nothing...wait! There...something small...a second seashell? Well that was enough. He scooped it up and deposited it on the female cub's head. At least they matched now.

King of what? Amira had to wonder. Of this ditch? Seemed like somebody needed to get busy expanding their borders. She was amused by his proclaiming himself royalty just the same. Her sister liked that kind of thing. Their pride had a different system. Truth be told, Amira didn't really care.

The shell was put on her head and her musing ceased. She glanced up at him then snorted. Psh... She didn't wanna be any sort of royal lineage, thankyouverymuch.

"Well, I for sure don't wanna be queen." The shell was pretty just the same. "What should we do with this stuff?"

Ha...the girl had spirit, that was sure. Didn't want to be queen. That was unusual, as far as he knew. But no matter.

Where to put the stuff. Wait, Amira had known some old guy had buried it...how? "You...saw who buried it? If you know him, we should return it." If not, they would go from there. As it was, this stuff looked like it had been long forgotten. Still, if someone were to dig up his treasures, he knew he would be upset.

On the other hand, she'd said it was someone old. Maybe they'd left it there specifically to be found?
