'' Yes that sure wouldn't be pleasant ''
Flik laughed at the sudden picture of such possible event passed through his mind.
'' Tell me what more interesting sights could you show me. ''

Blossomforth tapped a hoof while she thought. One ear tipped sideways, like that would help her come up with something too. "Well. There's the apple tries. Diego really likes those so I go there a lot. You could wander up the stream," she pointed out, nose toward the one that led off the lake, "and see if there's anything that takes your fancy. There's the waterfall, the caves..."

'' Apple trees? I wonder if there are some left. ''
Flik love dapples and he couldn't remember when was the last time he had eaten one. He looked at Blossomforth with eyes full of hope.
'' Could you take me there? ''

Diego often gave her that exact look, so she laughed and nodded. "Course I can. I wouldn't have mentioned if I didn't know the way. Besides, how could anyone resist a look like that? She turned and started walking toward the best apple grove she knew.

Flik followed her happy he had so much luck to meet her. A nice walk indeed it was so much better when you have someone to talk to and for a moment Flik wished he could stay here forever. But he knew that was not possible and he only hopped that one day he will find a companion to keep him company on his long journeys.
'' You mentioned some Diego. Is he you're family? ''

"Diego?" She flicked an ear. Goodness, had she said his name out loud? She couldn't recall, but it wasn't impossible. No reason to keep him a secret, after all. "He's as close as family, I suppose, but we're not really related. Just a part of the very same herd," she explained, then she laughed. "If you saw him, you'd never even ask. He's full of feathers and fluff and all patterned up like nothing I've ever seen. We couldn't even be cousins."

'' Fluffs and feathers... his look sounds interesting. ''
Slight feel of loneliness crept into his heart and little jealousy was awoken. Flik shook his head to chase all that away. '' I have no regrets... ''
'' Friends are most precious one could have. How big is you're herd? ''

"Oh, he's interesting all right," Blossomforth said, shaking her head a little and ear tilted wryly. "If interesting means sometimes he needs a hoof planted in his fancy backside." It was clear from her tone that she wasn't mad and didn't dislike Diego at all. He could just be so darned frustrating.
"Just the four of us," she answered. "Not so small we get bored, not so big we can't remember names."

Flik laughed to Blossomforth's definition of interesting.
'' At least you never get bored in his company. Four of you. Then you must be very close. ''
He yawned. It was not because he was bored with the conversation but because he didn't sleep much last night and now he felt tired and sleepy but gave his best not to show it.
'' I used to live in a big herd. But I never had problems with names. Maybe because we all young ones always mingled together. ''

"We're friends," Blossom agreed, bobbing her head lightly. "Get along most of the time, would help each other out in a pinch, I suppose. Depending on the pinch," she amended with a quick little grin.
She tipped an ear at him after he'd yawned. She didn't comment on that. She was sure he wasn't being rude, and it would have been impolite on her part to say anything. So she ignored it and instead said, "It's easier to learn things and remember them when you're a foal, I think. I know I never do get Dia's whole big long name right when I try to say it. Best to stick with what's easy."
And because she was curious, she wondered, "Why did you leave that big ol' herd. If I can ask, that is. Feel free to tell me to keep my nose out of what isn't mine."

'' Well that is a long story. But to make it short I got tired of the old scenery. And old habits lost they're meaning and purpose. I just needed some change. ''
Cold shudder past his spine on memory of the reason he left. Event that left distasteful feel in his mouth and emptiness in his heart.
'' You got me interested. What is you're friend's full name? ''

Didn't seem like much of a reason to leave your friends and family entirely behind, but it was his journey and his decision and she had no right to say a word in question about it. So she didn't. "Well, I hope the change you find is the kind of change you want."
She tipped an ear then and her expression went wry. "'course you'd ask me." She snorted lightly. "All right, then. I'll give it a try. But if I get it wrong and you meet her, I'm just saying, you were warned."
She thought about it a moment, then gave it her best shot. "It's Dia del Asperganza." Which was...close. But not right.

'' Only time can tell if my decision was right. ''
He lifted his right eyebrow at the sound of the name. Now he knew why she didn't like to pronounce it. It really was long and complicated and he was sure he would also have problems with memorizing it right.
'' Now I understand you're troubles with the name. But I had impression you were talking about him not her. ''

"That's true," she agreed. "Takes some time to figure out if any of the choices we make are the right ones. I hope, for your sake, it turns out to be so."
"Heck of a mouthful, isn't it?" She blew out through her lips, making a soft, rolling sound like laughter. "Diego? Nah, he's just Diego. Nothin' hard about remembering that name."

'' What about you're last herd member's name? ''
He schooled him self for not listening more carefully and thinking that Diego and Dia del Asr... Asperz... Aspgan... were the same soquili.
'' You have a good name. It is not that hard to remember. ''
