She's worked up a slight sweat from the whipping. Perhaps it was just the pleasent excitement that came from the ease of the whipping. Xee lifted her hand up and wipedher palm across her brow as she waited for the heat to fade from her body. When it was that Shri would tell her to keep the whip, she glanced at the limp weapon still in her palm. One made to her particular specifications? "I will...have to learn a bit more about whips in general before I have an idea of what I would prefer but..thank you for the gift Cousin."

Xee busied herself for the next few moments coiling the whip into a tight thick ring. She had her belt that she could loop through the center until she could have a attachment made to better clip it in place. She doubted she'd be making use of the whip in the next few hours. Well..perhaps on Lesomph... that would prove to be extremely pleasent. Perhaps she would not stop herself from getting carried away on the b*****d.

Xee had to consider the compliment that had been paid to her by her cousin. If she had not been surprised herself by the ease with which it had just moved for her she'd have suspected Shri of falseness. "I think a bit of instruction could be useful. I'm sure I can find many different applications for a whip in my field of skills." She'd probably hold Shri to her word later too. If it came about that she did get a new whip, something that suited her better, then she'd definatly want to at least be guided in it's weilding.

Once the whip was fully coiled, Xee unbulcked her yellow belt and slipped the whip onto it. Clasping it back about her waist she glanced back up at Shri. The slave she ignored on the floor since it was of little interest to her at the moment. "So then Cousin... Where do we go from here? I've met you, and you have met me. Though I am at a loss as to what is expected now. I do not think I'll just be allowed to wander as I used to and I suspect your mother had something in mind when she left us together. So, bluntly to be asked...do you have a particular irritation someone like me would be able to take care of?"

Shri's smile was easy and natural. No one would have been able to guess that she had spent a good three years perfecting that smile in front of a mirror. While it was true that she was naturally given to smiling, at least more than the average drow, and usually with less malicious intent, an inclination toward smiling did not mean that the smile was attractive, winning, or believable. It was on those three things that she had worked, in her youth, knowing even then that intimidation was not a technique she would ever care for, and so she would have to become a seductress. Seduction could take many forms beyond simply sexual. Sexual seduction was easy, as she had figured out at a relatively young age. What she was trying to do with Ilmxena was more difficult: she wanted her cousin to feel at ease in her company and be inclined to trust her. And she wanted her cousin to realize that Shri was the one who would arrange for any pleasures Ilmxena might wish for.

"That's probably wise. As I've said, you may keep that whip as a gift. It is my favorite for good reason, as you will come to realize once you become more familiar with it." She was a little saddened by the loss of her favorite whip, as it had taken her six years to break that one in, but she could commission another easily enough, and there was also something pleasant about the sharp snap of a brand new whip, which was subtlely different from the snap of an older, better-used whip. "Whips are incredibly versatile tools."

If Shri was taken aback by Ilmxena's sudden bluntness, she concealed it well behind an amused smile. There was no falseness in this smile, though it had been practiced as carefully as her other. Shri had spent her entire life being schooled to become the next Matron Baen'duis, and so she was quite adept at this sort of thing, when she chose to be. Usually she chose to be more candid, but something about this situation made her a little more cautious, and caused her to be a little more formal than she would have liked to be. Not to mention, there was a certain stupidity in stating a wish for dead family members in one's own household.

"My mother usually has several things on her mind when she does anything, and has probably planned for every possible outcome of this meeting, including you deciding to kill me." Shri sincerely hoped that a rescue would be in order in that situation. "Which I hope is not on the agenda."

She really hoped that was not on the agenda. She had just given her preferred weapon to someone already talented in the termination of others, effectively putting herself at her cousin's mercy. It had not, perhaps, been the wisest move after all. It wasn't one her mother would have approved of. Or maybe it was. Shri doubted that Ilmxena would decide to try to kill her at this juncture, if at all, so giving her the whip could also serve as a symbol of the trust she was putting in her. She was getting more used to thinking on many levels at once, but sometimes she wished that she could turn her back to the room for a few moments to sift through everything.

"Every drow has a list of people whose death would simplify their own life," Shri said carefully. "But for the moment I have no need for your particular skills. Besides, you've just arrived. You ought to have time to settle in and see to your males at your leisure."

This, in truth suited her. With everything she had absorbed in just this last hour Ilmxena felt a bit exhausted. She did not need expectations of her made. Unconsciously she placed a hand on her hip and she began to stroke at one of her gold colored daggers. They were not real gold, but rather plated with a sort of bronze that gave them a pleasent look. Much like the rest of her outfit. Xee, even unknowing of her lineage, had obtained a pecular sense of style and dress to ensure she stood out a little bit from the general crowd. Now though she wondered if she had been subtlely influenced in the past by the servants and slaves. Or even the merchants of the caravan and their hired guard?

"I appreciate the gift, I will be certain to try it out soon so it will not go to waste." She did have to appreciate such a gift. If it was her favorite there had to be something of value to it. Xee was certain that in time she would learn what it was and then she'd be able to fully appreciate the whip. "I do agree about their versitility. I can already think of a few things that I could do with a whip that I could not with another weapon or rope. I sort of wonder why I was never taught about it before. It seems a basic and simple enough of a weapon to learn."

She ought to see about her room. To make certain there would be a place for her males. Once she got them back Xee had no intention of letting them wander too far from her. She'd feel safer with her males back at her side. Now that she did not have the caravan guard watching out for her she needed to reclaim a position of, even if it was slight and laughable, power.

There was a moment when Xee's lips twitched. Kill her cousin? The idea had flickered, just very briefly through her mind. Almist immediatly after halynda had informed her of her position in the family and how she was, in essence, not really a part of them. For a moment Xee had felt the desire to stab her dagger into both the woman that escorted her, and the younger female who had turned out to be Shri. But such a thought and feeling faded quickly. Xee was given to blood thirsty thoughts as easily as the next drow, but she was not such a moron to think there would be no retribution for her actions.

"It seems your mother likes to leave as many options open that she can when determining the effects of her, or others, actions as well as ensuring she is prepared for the large majority of them." Xee's hand lifted, and she gestured dismissively. "Do not concern yourself with whether or not I might try to take you down. It would not serve any purpose for me to kill you. I would gain no reward, if anything I would end up placing myself in a very bad position. As things stand right now I seem to be getting more then I had expected I would upon my return. So there is no need to even try to find a reason to kill anyone."

Xee's head bobbed slightly after a moment. her lips quirking once to the side as she thought about what sort of 'settling in' she'd have ahead of her. Her males would probably have a lot to tell her, she might even have to get rid of some slave females if they had edged in on her territory. "Settling in sounds like an excellent idea...were the males taken to the room I'm going to be staying in? If not I'd like to check it out first and get a feel for it before they are brought to me."

Shri's lips curved into a smile at Ilmxena's declaration that the gift she had made of her whip would go to good use. That did make her feel a little better about the loss of a beautiful weapon. It was replaceable, but that didn't mean that she wouldn't miss it. At least until she got around to replacing it. The smile became a little deeper when Ilmxena wondered aloud why she had not been taught to use a whip before.

"Possibly because it was assumed that you would already have achieved a level of mastery beyond what they might teach you. After all, our family is infamous for our skill with a lash."

Shri was not completely, or even partially reassured by Ilmxena's words. But it was the best she would get from her cousin, she knew, until she could win her over more completely. However, it did speak well for Ilmxena's common sense that she recognized how poorly she would be served by killing Shri, or anyone else. It did sound, however, like she expected to continue to be gifted regularly, and that would not be the case. Soon she would either have to be loyal of her own accord. Otherwise her life in Baen'duis would end as suddenly as it had begun.

"My mother is a terrifying entity. I'm grateful she's on my side in most matters. As for your males, I believe they are being kept in the antechamber to this salon, but they can easily be relocated if such is your desire. Or they can be released for the moment and recalled according to your will."

Shri stood up slowly, casually adjusting the thin straps of her blue-violet top, which was cut so that her abdomen was bared from below her breasts to the flare of her hips. As she stood up she decided that this interview was coming to an end, and it would be better for her position if she was the one to end it. So she affixed a smile to her face and said, "I'll have a servant show you to your quarters."

She made the appropriate gestures with her hands to alert the servants to her desires. "I've noticed that you seem to remember the House's sign language, and the servants will also respond to verbal commands, so you oughtn't to have any difficulty arranging things to suit your tastes."

A servant came forth to do Shri's bidding and take Ilmxena to the rooms she was sure her mother had arranged for her. There was every likelihood that her mother had known of Ilmxena's coming for a long time, since she'd had time to inform Shri that her presence would be required in Llurth Dreir on a particular day, and so it was impossible that plans had not been made for her stay. The servant bowed deeply to Shri, and then less deeply to Ilmxena, and moved by the door, ready to lead the assassin away.

"By the way, a whip is not that simple to learn. Lesser people take a very long time to learn to use one even competently. You are fortunate that it is in your blood. So fortunate."

"I would rather check out the room first, then have them brought to me one at a time... I think it will be easier to reclaim my position with them in a one on one situation..." She needed to be familar with the room in case any of them decided to be difficult..and in the case of Lesomph in case he got viloent. And again...she did not want them to feel strength in a group. If she could impress upon them her dominance it would serve her best if she was alone....She just rather wished she had grown some while she had been away...It wouldn't serve her well at -all- if the males were eye level to her.

"I would appreciate that cousin." Xee thanked Shri as she summoned the servant to lead her away. Today had been a quite a interesting day. She would need time to deal with her males, then settle in to mull over the obvious changes she could expect, and which ones she could expect not. Her head bobbed again at the further instrction by her cousin. It was that final comment that put a pause in her steps on the way to the door. She turned slightly to glance over her shoulder at the other female. Her red eyes fixed on her face, then she turned away. More cryptic words for her? yes, she suspected so. her hand fell down to where the whip was coiled at her waist. What a homecoming this had been...
