That sounds... outrageous, and almost heretical. Coming from anyone but Setsushi, Kouyo might not have believed it. Although having seen a portion of his own poetry, preserved and restored in Jilan's book, also led the High Priest down the seemingly-crazy path that all of it was true.
It is almost three hundred years later in the Silver World? And the Empire is still there? Untouched by the ones from Karyasihu? Were there any humans at all there?

Setsushi scoffs a little. "Heretical?" Hasn't Kouyo seen plenty of things in his own visions that could be called heretical?
But he nods slowly. On his last trip there, in fact, he bartered for a number of books... several history textbooks. He only glanced over them, but they seem to describe some sort of civil war or agitation among the nobles that led to the overthrow of the Empress in the year 720, and the descent of the Silver Empress to rule over her creation. Although it seems a great number of Setsushi's friends died in 720, there was no great disaster, and the states are all still under the control of the Empire.
There are no humans. He didn't look through the books thoroughly yet, to see if they mention Karyasihu, but it doesn't seem the Empire has any extra-planar trading partners at all. They were wholly ignorant of Gaia, at least. ... But Setsushi tilts his head a bit. Why was Kouyo curious...?
And... would Kouyo like to look through the portal? It hasn't moved since Setsushi first found it.

Kouyo has seen all sorts of things in his visions, but he does not always necessarily tell everything to people other than Setsushi.
He thinks he would like to see the books sometime when he is feeling better, though. In his vision today, he saw the Porcelain people, presumably in the Golden World, being killed off. It was not the first time he had received such an image. The High Priest believes that the ones attacking the Porcelain were the ones from Karyasihu, though....
Maybe someday in the future, Setsushi can take him through the portal. Kouyo is not sure he is ready to travel right now. He is curious, though. Until he is ready to go himself, Setsushi can bring back stories for him; it will be just like before, in a way.

Setsushi's eyebrow furrows. Karyasihu, slaughtering the Porcelain? He thought that what they wanted was --
... Well, they need not linger on that, as apparently that country's scheme did not work. In a way, it is good to see the Empire prospering, even if under a supernatural regime. Though... Setsushi can't shake the feeling there is something off about that place. When Kouyo feels up to it, Setsushi would really like him to have a look, as perhaps the more sensitive priest will be able to tell if there is something magical in the air...
But for now, Kouyo had better rest, no?

Kouyo nods slowly. He is definitely curious about this place, and will go as soon as he as able... so long as he does not have to go alone. But yes, for now, the High Priest needs to get some real restful sleep. He drinks the last of his unspilled tea and stands slowly.
Either way, he should probably get his unpainted and disheveled self back out of the public area of Setsushi's home anyway sweatdrop

Setsushi will keep the shop nice and quiet for the next few days so Kouyo can recover... if Kouyo promises to keep his home nice and clean.
And with that, he starts to clean up the cups and teapot.
