~*`*~The Opening~*`*~
PostPosted: Tue Dec 23, 2008 9:48 pm

Cheveyo walked through the village uneasily, it seemed his spear was always in his hand nowaday's. He wasn't complaining, it just made him uneasy. The English had their guns and cannons, his spear seemed so puny compared to them.

James whistled as he loaded a bag with specialty goods. Beads, and small metal tools, toys and magic tricks. He smiled, as he snapped the bag shut, before turning to face the wilderness. "Here go's. they with love you, don't worry about it." He whispered under his breath and started into the forest. His boot covered feet did not really help him in any way of, not making a loud of sound. He whistled figuring that his cover was blown anyway, he might as well act in a way that made him happy. He wandered though the woods for some time not really knowing were he was going.

|Sorry I only just now got the message. ^^;; ||
Kachina sighed as her father lectured her, he wanted her to marry and have children and pass on the family name-blah,blah,blah. Finally it ended when her beautiful, sweet, grateful mother came out and asked her to gather some red berries. Kachina quickly obliged and apologized to her father for having to leave at the moment. Jumping up, she grabbed her basket and knife. Leaving the small tent quickly. The tribe wasn't nomads, so they didn't use TeePees. Running fast out of the villages view and into the forest, she had to grin at the feel of wind bellowing in her hair. But she suddenly came to a sudden stop. Her ears picking up on a whistling. Eyes widening, she dropped to the dirt and crawled to the berries bush which was about 6 feet away. Drowning out the sound, she gather a lot of berries and finally gave into her curiosity and stood up. Walking a bit, she found the source of the noise and blinked. Why does this man have white skin? She asked herself and tilted her head curiously. Hearing a branch snap behind her, she flinched and turned. Running back to her village with the basket held tightly to her side.

James heard a twig snapped and looked to see some movement to his left, but it was quickly gone. “Hello?” he called and walked in the direction it had gone. It was not long before his eyes fell upon a small Native American village. Smiled and walked right into it. “Hello?” He called again and spied a young woman carrying something. “Greetings.” He said smoothly. And held out a hand for her to shake. “What a lovely woman you are, You must be a princess.” He said and put a hand in his bag. Slowly he pulled out a string of multicolored bright glass beads. He held them out for her in his calloused hands. “A gift from me to you” She chuckled.

Cheveyo ran up t the man with two other warriors, spear in hand, "What do you want?! How did you get here?!" he demanded, though not in English, he didn't know any English except 'yes' and 'no'.

James looked at the man, and put his hands up next to his head. Being a trader, he spoke some of the native's language. "I just want to talk, I bare gifts for you and your people." He slowly set the beads onto the dirt near his feet, and stood back up. "I got here, by walking." He grinned and winked towards the woman. James’s had no intention of starting a fight, he merely wanted to make a few friends in the village.

Staring at the beads, she looked back to his face and tilted her head oddly. She didn't speak his odd language, so Kachina reached out for it only to be pushed back Cheveyo. Glaring openly at the Native, she watched him scream angrily at the man. Lightly slapping his shoulder. "He came in piece, don't be so harsh." When she heard him speak their language she smiled at him. "I'm Kachina." She said in a friendly voice, putting a hand to her chest indicating she was Kachina. Then she moved that hand to his shoulder and smiled brightly.

James lowered his hands and picked up the strand of beads from the duty ground. He took Kachina’s hand in his and placed them against her palm gently. “I am James.” She said careful to pronouns correctly. He did not want to be misunderstood. Then he put his hand into his bag again and pulled out a small scrap of fabric that held three nice metal needles. He held it out for the man with a smile. “I have a gift for you as well if you will accept it.” He smiled wider hoping not to be rejected.

Cheveyo examined it, "What is it?" he questioned.
PostPosted: Sat Dec 27, 2008 9:51 pm

"They are 'Needles' " He said and took one from him. He pointed to the hole in one end. "You put string though the hole and sew clothing." He gave him back the needle then gestured to the front seam on his shirt, as an example of it's use. "In my village everyone knows how to use needles." He said hoping he would understand that he was trying to say it was 'easy', because he did not know the word easy.

Katherine sighed as she sewed the final stitch. Why did people always have to get hurt at night? She had been helping this person since about 12 o' clock, midnight, that was when he fell. She had had to half-carry him all the way to town last night and then she examined his wound for about half an hour, and then she had to retrieve the bullet from his arm before sewing it shut. He had been hunting with his friends. Gee, hunting at midnight, these people are geniuses... It's a wonder that they didn't all get shot. Standing up, she looked at the 'genius'. "The shot was removed well and the wound is stitched, I'm done. Please come visit me if you have any problems." Really hoping that the man wouldn't have problems, she picked up her cloak and headed out the door. "Urgh..." The morning sunlight stung her eyes, Katherine was so tired. Marching across the village, she took the shortcut between two houses before sighing again at the sight of her own house, small though it was, it was her little refuge from the world. Opening the front door, she was welcomed by her dog, Gordy, who she pushed away. Her mind was set on getting to bed.

[[OOC: Two things,

Drusilla closed her book before rubbing her eyes in exhaustion. Already she was starting to hate this place. It was cold and quiet and dreary, so maybe Scotland had been just as cold and quiet, but it was familiar. There was nothing but trees and dirt around here, no markets or gentlemen or friends.

She was going to have to talk to her papa about this as soon as he woke up.
