Dr. Liz shrugged. "Riley, I have wings while you have ears and a tail. Why not talk to me? I'm just like you, part animal. I'm not stuck up. I want to help you!"
Kara dove deep into the water staying as far away from Dr. Liz as possible.

Dr. Liz sighed. "Well, I can't win them all... Now where'd Kara go?"

Kara stayed in the deepest part of her lake. She could hear everyone in her habitat. Another dead kid? Liz you've lost your mind.

Dr. Liz looked into Kara's pond. She wiggled a small fish over the water. "Come here, Kara! I wanna give you some food! Come out, I won't bite!"

Kara splashed at Dr Liz with her tail.
Dr. Liz grabbed it and pulled Kara out of the water. "Bad girl. You got me wet." She dragged Kara onto the side of the pond and grabbed Kara's left arm. Liz pulled a needle out of her pocket. "I just want some blood, then I'll leave you alone." Kara smacked Liz with her tail. Liz got angry and bit Kara's wrist. She stabbed the needle into Kara's arm and took the blood within seconds. Kara didn't feel it until Liz threw her back into the pond, the wounds burned painfully. "AGH!!!"

Dr. Liz locked the door to the habitat. "Sleep well, you little parasite! If I have that much trouble again, I'll just carve that pretty little tail of yours apart to see how you can cause so much trouble with so little DNA." Liz's eyes sparkled with dark intention. She smirked and patted her wet labcoat pocket. "Now for my next experiment. Ha ha!" She walked down the hall to the dead experiment's unfinished habitat. "Soon I'll have this ready for Dr. Marcus to approve!"

Kara hauled herself out of the water and sit out a mouthful of blood. "You crazy wanna be geneticist..."

Dr. Liz pulled a struggling teenage boy to the ground. "Please let me go! I'll give you my money but I only have a twenty!!" Liz laughed evilly. "Who said I wanted your money?!" She grabbed him arm and stabbed the needle with Kara's blood into his main vein. "AGH!!" Liz snickered. "They always scream!" She picked up the screaming boy and flew back to the facility. The boy had started to wimper. "Please let me go..." Liz threw the boy off her shoulder at ground level and landed, pulling him into the lab Liz loved to experiment in. "You won't feel it in an hour, but this is going to hurt so much for you!"

Kara tried to morph to her human form but got too dizzy. "Oh, I hate them sooo much!!"

Kara spit out more blood. "So, why don't you do something about it?! Stop picking on me! I hate them, and I want to do something about it! So if you have any bright ideas, then speak up now or shut up!"

Dr. Liz looked up in surprise. "Why what brings you here, Dr. Marcus?"
The boy wimpered and Liz turned back towards him. "Stop whining, it doesn't hurt that much!" She turned back to Marcus. "Just another test subject who fell into my lap. Wish he wasn't so whiny."

Kara stopped and looked away. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap. I just wanted to go home. Now I'm a bleeding mermaid in an insane asylum..."

Liz watched the boy clumsily catch the lollipop. He looked at it for a minute and shoved it in his mouth. "Mmmmmm..." Liz almost started laughing. She walked slowly behind the boy. She readied the needle and looked up again. "You can have another lollipop, if you let me give you this shot. It won't hurt like the first one. It'll be fast." She smiled kindly. The boy held out his arm. Liz shoved the needle in and quickly injected the stabilizer. The boy tried very hard not to scream, but started to cry. "It hurts..." His lollipop cracked under his clenching teeth.
Liz patted his arm. "It won't hurt in a minute..." Her smile twisted into a scowl. "I forgot about Kara... Stay here or you'll get lost!" Liz left the lab and locked the door behind her.

Kara slithered into the water. The wounds burned under water but she knew that something was about to happen.

Liz walked over to Riley's habitat. "Why do you howl when the door slams? Honestly, it's rather annoying." She turned towards Kara's habitat and unlocked the door. "Kara! I want to check your arm. You were behaving badly and I think you got hurt."
Kara thought in a flash, watching Liz come in like there wasn't a mutated girl hiding in the pond. 'If she's so trusting, she won't be able to contain me. My parents learned that one when they tried grounding me the first time!' Kara shifted her tail away, holding her breath. She curled at the bottom, preparing to spring.
Liz kneeled at the edge of the pond. "Kara?" Kara pushed off as hard as she could. She smashed into Liz's head and sent her sprawling backwards. Kara walked over and kicked Liz's arm. Nothing happened.
Kara laughed. "Guess that's what they mean when they say teenagers are a pain!" Kara stood for a minute. 'I could drown her now. I should. She'll just kill more for her sick experiments.' Kara kneeled next to Liz's unconcious form, she pulled the keys from Liz's coat pocket and put them into her wet jean pocket. "Even a sick monster like you doesn't deserve the sweet embrace of death that your 'patients' beg for." Kara turned towards the door and pushed it open. "I'm free and anyone else I can take with me." Kara walked over to Riley's habitat.
