"Well, there are a bunch of objects of different weights on that end of the room. The lightest is in that corner and the heaviest in the other corner. We can pretty much have Blue fly over and try to pick up some of those and bring them back. Lifting them at all might need to be tested before carrying them. Some things can be held in air but moving as well as lifting is a problem." Rachel explained, pointing to the objects as he mentioned them.

"Hook your claws around it and see if you can pick it up." Rachel said calmly to Blue before directing his attention back to Slythor for a second. "If he keeps having trouble with that, you may have to go over and show him what you want him to do."

"Why don't you ask Blue what he likes and find out what sort of reward would be good? We may not have it in supply right now but I can give you some money so you can take him and get him something on the way back home." Rachel explained with a shrug.

"Well, that seems to work. I did pick up some generic treats. They're hiding somewhere about here. Might be some in a few of the bags I have over there." he said indicating a few different bags of varying sizes dispersed among the weights. After all, he had figured if the bird was being trained to fetch a few things, training it to maybe pick up things of different shapes as well as picking out which might have a treat in it could be good.

The bags with treats and the bags with something else in them were mixed up among the other items and regular weights. He wondered how Blue might react to those.

Well, he'd gotten the obvious one. That was good. Now for finding the hidden seeds. They weren't in bags marked or obviously full of the items, so the bird would have to look.

"See if he can locate some of the hidden treats. There are some that he may have to hunt a bit to find." the man stated calmly. He chose to refrain from commenting on the way Slythor was behaving about the seeds - hey, less mess for Rachel to clean up so that was fine.

"Yes, very. Now, might there be any.......not in bags?" the man suggested with a shrug. "Have Blue bring you over some of the other things. There might or might not be things - not always treats but some stuff - hidden inside of them."

He knew for a fact that at least one of the 'weights' was hollow inside and contained some money. There was a miniature statue that looked to be made of stone that was actually plastic and filled with change. Rachel had been very very bored when he made up this lesson.

"After all, looks can be deceiving."

"No I am that big of a cruel jerk that I would make you return it after making you go through the trouble to find it." Rachel said, his eyes half lidded and his tone dry, though the sarcasm was obvious. "Of course you can. Anything in the objects there for you guys to find is yours to keep. That counts for the money as well as the seeds. You've got, I think, one last object to find and you should be good. But this one, Slythor, you have to find yourself since Blue's done most of the fetching this time."

There was one last object - another seeming 'statue' at the farthest end of the spectrum. It could obviously be opened, on close inspection, but inside were a series of miniature hatches that had to be undone. Inside each was an amount of cash money in small bills (about 500 bucks total in the whole thing. Rachel had been having a bit tooooo much fun with this). Slythor generally would just have to pick out that it was the statue ( and not the other items) that opened and poke around a bit till the different mini-safes unlocked (most were just silly latches. The object had been designed up by a friend of his and was totally impractical but she'd given him money and said if he used it in a class, he could do what he wished with the cash.)
