I'm tall. That's all I can really say. But, I always see shoes I like, but they aways have platforms that are too tall for me. Normally, I don't care very much at all about shoes, I can go to formal parties in sneakers. But, occasionally, it's good to have some shoes that are showy.

Do any of you have problems with shoes that are too tall?

for me, it is anything but a problem. i love platforms. i dont care if they make me well over 6 feet tall, i love them. i have these in pink:

eek I love those shoes...

I dont' really like heels. I'm tall, afraid of twisting my ankle, and I walk alot so heavy heels (like platforms) would slow me down and make my feet feel very heavy.

Oh well. I like the look of them, but I try to look for shoes with little or no heel.

I'd say just wear heels, Im not that short and I wear Buffalo boots or high heeled Mary Janes quite a lot- though at the moment my dream is to own a pair of really big, clumpy boots like Tetsu from L'arc en Ciel wears heart

Yeah, I've noticed that the majority of BTSSB shoes aren't platforms at all, but dainty little flats (that I love! 4laugh I usually don't like them that much.); those work a lot better for us tall people, I think. It is kind of awkward to tower over people, especially when in loli garb, so those are a good solution for us. However, if I see a pair of platforms that I really like (I'm 5'8", so I'm not exactly short), you better bet your boots I'm gonna wear them! xd

Online, or in stores? They're hard to find in stores, but they're in abundance online. Check eBay if you don't believe me. xd

I have some mary janes, nothing special. They are starting to get worn out and very broken in, that i cant walk in them anymore I think they are about 2 1/2 inches
Then I have some shoes that used to be mary janes, but i cut off the straps because my feet used to be too fat for them. :[ they are 4 inches tall. They are cute. They are too big for my feet now. o_o I have to stuff a lot of tissue into them to fit. lol

There's nothing wrong with that; there was actually a pair of really cute high-heeled mary janes at Hot Topic that laced up with ribbon that I wanted for the longest time. They would have looked quite classy with a kurololi outfit! 3nodding Hot Topic is sometimes the best place in the US to buy gothic lolita shoes.

First off, Cloudy I love your shoes! I wouldn't risk cutting them.
Yes as it was mentioned Hot Topics is getting lolita nock-offs but their shoes are cute and punky ever since they started so..
But I dont have a problem with platforms and heels. I absolutely love them. I'm very tall, taller then everybody I know(well almost everybody). I just cant break myself from them. My sneakers are platforms, besides my chucks. My shoes just make me taller but I find it fun.
It just got a pair of black and white double sole platforms for about $40 and they are so comfortable.
Around where I live every store as platforms or heels of sorts. Most have Mary Janes and if they dont have that it's a pair of plat boots or shoes of kinds.
Searching online for platforms is easy and you can find some really great prices but be sure to see the measuring sizes considering most dont like to do refunds.

I don't know if anyone's interested, but I was at Payless Shoes the other day looking for shoes for my Halloween costume and I found a nice pair of sweet lolita shoes on sale for $9! They're flats, too, and sort of remind me of something BTSSB might put out. They're not as lacy, but they do have a cute leather bow on them and a bit of detailing. They're Mary Janes, but with the sides cut out, if that makes any sense. Anyway, for $9, they're not bad at all! I wore them last night with my Bodyline dress, and it looked really nice (other than that my dress is too short for me now crying ). I just thought I'd give everyone a heads-up who was looking for nice loli flats! 4laugh

I have a pair of platforms that are about an inch and a half tall. I love them, they have little flower grips on the bottoms. I'm only 5'2 so huge platforms make me as tall as everyone else xd

I'm 5'8" and platforms is all I wear. I love them. ^_^ I tower over some people, but I would no matter what shoes I wear, so I don't really care. Most of my shoes are about 2" platforms. I have tennies (LOVE Volatiles), some of the cutest Mary Janes ever made, loads of loafers and stuff, sandals, and some belted metal-covered boots from Hot Topic (Their shoes don't look cheap, not made to last forever, but not bad for the price at all.) I wear a size 8, so it's not too hard for me to find stuff, especially online. I bought most on ebay.

And yes, I can run in them just fine. I never worry about falling or tripping. ^_^
