That's something I should probably try too since I have an older computer. Although, I'll have to invite a friend over to fix my computer for that. sweatdrop I have no idea how to make those changes.
You can also click the little Menu button in the lower right corner, open Options, click the Graphics Options tab and change it to Medium or Low. This will make things look a bit less crisp but it definitely improves the lag problem.

I had tried that before, and I found that the only difference it made was to make the chat hard to read. But who knows, maybe they've improved it.
