Isn't a sudden diet change to take in less sugar, carbs, and fat actually bad for you? I thought you were supposed to ease into it, right?

Personally I think that diets are just silly. You shouldn't have to worry about it anyway I think. I eat as I please and I've never been past 8.5 stone. Personally I think over weight is brought on by stressful situations and then people panic because of the thoughts they think when they get a little bit pudgy, thus making more stress. A vicious cycle >.>
To be honest, I really believe in a carefree lifestyle, being exactly who you are. Thats the best kind of 'diet' ^^, stressfree and 'healthy' (I do have a sweet tooth. but doesn't everyone lol)

As for size 0, I hate it. I had a friend that wanted to be a model and she had a really nice figure weighing about 7.8 stone and she complained she was fat, the model industry would never except her, shes not pretty enough, blah, blah...
I shouted at her once because it drives me insane that people want to delibereatly change who they are so drastically because they think its 'pretty'. Wrong.
Super-ultra-skeleton-thin is horrible, not one guy I've talked to about it thinks its nice or even slightly pretty.

Thats my opinions ^^ Sorry if they offend anyone, their not meant to *bow*

Oh, I was talking of diet as in "regular eating habits" not "a specific and temporary change to your eating habits in order to lose weight". I don't think diets are good for you, either, unless your weight is hazardess to your health...

I definitely believe in having a healthy overall diet that generally will keep you at a healthy weight, rather than changing your habits until the weight is lost and then going back to your usual habits...

In response to Kita, there are quite a number of medical maladies the could cause weight issues aside from stress or anxiety (though those can be just as likely, if not more so in today's society). For instance, my Algebra 2 teacher used to be an average, lean man. His diet was that of pretty much any normal man- a lot. xD Used to coach baseball, for Heaven's sake.

Then he gained 200 pounds in a SINGLE year, if not more pounds/less time. His metabolism, almost literally, died. He is now spherical in shape- and 6 foot 4, if that gives you any idea to his size.

In any case, a diet is technically just 'an eating habit', as Rae said. However, I'd have to disagree in that not ALL 'weight loss' diets are unhealthy. (Count the negatives in that sentence). Some people, such as myself (and the majority of Americans, sadly) eat fast food, ramen, etc etc- nothing really good for the body. If you were to make a 'specific change to your eating habits' in order to either lose weight or gain muscle, or whathaveyou, then it can be a good thing.

The problem is many people take it to extremes. The common thought process is 'if I can do with , then why not max out to max out ?'

Hahahahano. o_o

Moderation is key- in pretty much anything, really. A glass of wine for dinner is good for the heart, for example, but you don't want to 'max out' the wine intake to 'max out' the healthy-heart out-take. That'd end up in alcohol poisoning. xD

And as Rae said, too, getting on a diet to lose weight and then going back to your normal diet is just stupid and, in the end, can be potentially harmful. The body isn't meant to fluctuate back and forth like that- the long term effects could seriously outweigh the short-term.

... and I think that's about as much intelligent thought as I can handle during school hours xD I might add more when I get home or something.

Thanks for your advice guys, i'll look into that.

I went on this master cleanse to change my eating habits completely, it was my choice to completely reject food for a lemon detox. I wanted to just to rinse out all of the toxins i've been pumping through my body. It's a personal preference but if you'd guys reallllly like to know my ex bf was doing drugs and he got me into it, bad move. So i dumped him and now instead of suffering the reprocutions, im flushing out all of the toxins.
And I'm on day 11, i think i might go on further but who knows, my target weight is 8st, thats my safe zone.
