By the Gods, in what kind of place have I landed?! Hyo observed some brave, brave man attacking the four legged monster. He must've been really strong, since the demon didn't have a chance to defend himself, and went flying! But then the man just...passed by, while the dreaded monster was getting back on its feet. All four of them! Why didn't he finish that thing off?! ...and while we're at that, why isn't the rest reacting? Are they used to demons...? In what kind of impossible place has he landed...? Hyo decided to move away from that...that thing. That would clearly be the safest way. He made a circle around it, but because his eyes were focused on that demon, he soon almost run into someone. The boy yelped, looked up, and saw a person in white...and feathers? <"I...I am sorry..."> He bowed quickly, and made a graceful step back.

The hamburger was moving again. Mokoyis couldn't say for sure who was inside but the muffled voices and the fact there were four legs protruding from the costume gave her a rather good idea- and if Estrelas was in there so was Eponine. The poor girl. Unless of course someone was dressed up as Estrelas, that added whole layers of mystery to what she thought was a simple costume.
She was quite lost in her pondering and didn't notice the young boy?- if so a very pretty boy- in the unicorn mask until he had walked right into her. "Ouf! nistówa saa ayáapi kiistó!" She spoke in Blackfoot and then blinked, oops cover blown. "I mean, I didn't see you there, I'm sorry." At that point she also noticed the stranger spoke in a different language and laughed.

Oh great. It seems this person was another one not able to speak in a civilised manner. What kind of a bizarre place did he get himself into? He took one more step back, just to be safe, and carefully looked at the person - probably a woman, but lately it was hard for him to be sure of such things - just to make sure that she wasn't a demon. Well, if she was, she certainly was not such an obvious one like the four-legged thing! But now she said something to him. And he had no idea what. Was it important? He looked around, trying to spot the man that did knew korean, but didn't manage to find him. Seems he's on his own now. So he decided to use the most reliable technique - after all, everyone knows that savages and animals will understand you, if you speak louder and really, really slowly! So he smiled, hoping his smile looked encouraging, and talked to the person, carefully extending all the vowels. <"Aaaaareeee yoooouuuu aaaaaall riiiiiiight? Dooooo yoooouuu uuuundeeeeerstaaaand meeeee?"> He helped himself with a few hand motions, and hoped the person will get what he said.

There. There it was.
Behind his mask Einar's face broke into a wide grin, the kind that made his face seem thinner and elongated. He'd placed the voice when the man before him had been trying too hard to speak properly, something he believed he had told the man himself that he does too much, and for a moment Einar had to resist a chuckle from escaping his lips. Thankfully the small one that did manage to leak out was muffled and silenced by his thick mask.
Hello, Lai.
Naturally the man wasn't going to say he recognized the figure before him - why ruin the fun - since he was pretty darn sure that Lai had no earthly idea who he was. He was wearing his storm suit that came from his time after all, and since he was pretty sure (as of this point in his knowledge) that he was the only one from that far out into the future it would make sense that no one would even have a faint idea as to what it was, let alone what nation it came from.
He about to actually say something else to Lai when his attention was pulled several ways at once - the hamburger on legs (he knew who that was, without a doubt even though they had never met), and someone speaking an Asian language nearby at a pretty Indian woman like she was either deaf or stupid. For the man doing the shouting Einar hoped it was one or the other, as he was pretty sure no one was going to take this nicely.
"Well now, what do you make of that?"
His comment was directed at Lai.

Lai's smile faltered as a black and white being fled into the room and into the woman wearing white and feathers. The girl, it appeared to be a girl anyway, in the horned mask went by so fast she appeared as a blur before Lai's eyes. One look of worry, thinking maybe the run into women would get upset, swept up but it vanished as the feathered woman seemed to make that there was no harm done. He was about to turn back to Einar, still unknown to him, when the commotion from the two people in the food suit drew his eyes to them.
The Russian's look was frustrated puzzlement and disbelief at the scene; the food confronting the scarecrow man and mixing at least two voices into one. With the echo of the room and the voices of others, it was hard to get anything out, though Lai vaguely thought he might have heard his name twice. At Einar's question he shook his head and sighed, one gloved hand going up to try to run through his hair, but remembered the slicking and shiny gel that was all through it,stopping at his pulled back bangs and dropping back to his side after tapping the forehead of the mask once.
"I have no idea. I was certain I was hallucinating when it...They...Were caught in the doorway. Seeing that get up I realize it took the word 'masquerade' too literally and now feel overdressed as well as confused as to what led to that idea." He held both arms out the sides to show, the red vest beneath the jacket flashing more prominently before dropping his arms again. Lai paused, feeling like a fool for asking but knowing he had to confirm what he was seeing as what he thought it was. "That is some sort of food right?" This is what you get for being in the kitchen for so long. After this, I shall take a three day break from that area of the compound, hallucination or not. Do something else, find Einar maybe. I have not seen him around in awhile...I hope he is alright...

Oh dear, was the poor boy slow? That would at least explain the garbled tongue. She was fairly sure he was Asian- he resembled the people the white men sent to build their railroad and blast holes into Mother Earth. That made her slightly nervous, and she swallowed another laugh instead barring her teeth in what she hoped was a friendly smile. Where did Wraith find these people? She took a step towards the stranger and peered closely at his mask
"Do you not speak English?" Her eyes flicked around the shadowy room searching for help- did anyone she know speak Asian (she assumed they all spoke the same language)? Then again she wasn't sure she knew anyone here at all.

Nope, that didn't help much. Was the poor girl too slow to understand spoken word? How did she get in here in the first place? After a conversation with mister Sian, and that other man, he thought they were looking for intelligent people? And intelligent people can speak normally? <"So that means you don't understand korean, do you? You poor thing..."> Hyo shook his head, and looked at the girl with pity. How will she manage to move through life without such an essential knowledge?

"I think you're dressed fine for what you know. You could always be dressed worse, you know."
Einar motioned to his own outfit, finally coming into new light. Aside from the white mask and knee-high metal boots his outfit consisted of a pair of pants and a shirt that could be a throwback to the days of yore when kings and Queens ruled nations and there was such a thing as a serf. They weren't the clothes of a noble, however, but more of one like a servant made for travel with tight breeches that seemed to be padded about the areas were the human body required extra protection. His shirt was the same way, a vest that was held together with heavy metal buckles that wrapped about the whole of his frame.
For as impractical as it looked and felt, it did the perfect job of protecting a storm's body when they went out.
"As for that that is, it's called a 'hamburger'. Normally they come much smaller and are meant to be eaten and not worn by two woman as a costume at a party."

This was getting no where. It was quite obvious by now the man didn't speak English or Blackfoot which left them with mime. She placed a hand on her chest and spoke her name, wondering in passing if she should have used her English name for ease. Months here had finally succeeded in forcing the habit of saying both names out of her system. "Mokoyis."
She then reached over and placed a hand on the strangers chest. He was most definitely male, even though some of his mannerism were less than masculine. Perhaps he liked other men? She shook her head to clear it of rambling speculations and raised an eyebrow at the man in a questioning manner.

This time, the girl said only a single word. And then... She touched him. Hyo was slightly surprised. He was almost never touched by other people. What did it mean? Unless... A moment before, she touched herself in a similar place. Just before she said the word. Was she...trying to communicate? He raised his hand, and directed it at her chest - he didn't want to touch someone so casually, and tried to follow her words. <"Moo...koo...is? Mokois, is that your..name?"> Hoping that he understood correctly, and isn't making a fool of himself right now, he moved his hand, now pointing at himself. <"Moon Hyo."> He said slowly. <"My name is Moon Hyo. Or just Hyo. I'm...not really a part of House Moon anymore...">

"Thank you." Lai looked Einar's outfit up and down when the other motioned to it, puzzled by the getup. He had never seen anything like it in Russia during his time; nineteen-oh-four to nineteen-twenty-six. "Your clothing is interesting, I have never seen anything like it before. The mask quite intrigues me most of all though." He did not have to look up far to view it in its entirety, the masqued Einar only being an inch or so taller than himself. What an odd thing.
At the mention of what the costume belonging to the two pairs of legs was, Lai looked over Einar's shoulder back to the 'hamburger' that was causing a lot of commotion. Another shake of his head, his bangs still swept back and frozen atop his head, was coupled with a "you have got to be kidding me" frown. What had given the two people within it the idea to wear such a thing? He did not want to be mean or anything, but the thing stuck out like a lit signal flare amidst the human costumes.
"....I see. A cookbook will be consulted later. Much later." The Russian was going to stick with the three day break away from the kitchen idea. He cleared his throat again and went back to looking at Einar in the mask. "Oh well...We should not focus on them all night." A friendly smile to the man before he reached into his inner breast pocket to pull out a handkerchief folded into a small square. Lai quickly turned to the side, lifted his mask slightly and dabbed beneath his right eye to get rid of perspiration gathered there. He turned to the other side and repeated with the left one before putting the cloth away.
"How are you this evening?"

Well, that was somehow exciting. There won't be anything boring happening tonight again, it seems.
After having witnessed a thing shoved out of the way by a very grumpy looking man and the random screams and yelps that seem to come out of nowhere, Johannes thought he was perhaps in the right place for a typical setting at LOTUS.
The thing on four legs (very smooth legs thought Johannes), he had an inkling of who could it be inside that 'outfit.' But he thought to give Estrelas and Eponine the benefit of the doubt. Especially Eponine, who seems like a good polite girl, and who seems to keep Estrelas in check. Or at least try to.
"At least I'll know who Angel will be", smirked Johannes as he thought of the rabbit dressed as Satan's daughter, or pet. "Maybe die Hase (the rabbit) won't be so evil today." "After all, tonight's for fun."
A feathered woman, a unicorn masked person, a...sack? And many more were to come, possibly. Johannes knew very little people, he thought, compared to other members who have been here a long time.
"Oh, well. I haven't been found out yet" said Johannes as he stood at the open bar, pondering on what to drink. He hadn't taken off his helmet (though it must look unpolite to not have done so! thought Johannes) and was stroking his beard, more or less to act as if he's thinking but really making sure the beard is on right.

Thasios, startled, stepped back slightly and almost lost his balance as he noticed what appeared to be a growling... chicken underneath him.
He wasn't quite sure to do with the animal, not quite knowing exactly what it was. He circled it once or twice, and determined it to be a rabbit covered in feathers. Rabbits, as he had known them, were quite docile. This one obviously was not.
He decided he'd much rather talk to a person than spend his time staring down a rabbit, so he looked up, surveying the room. There were a few men over on that corner, and a few women in the other. But the women appeared to be arguing, or some other such disorderly thing, so he began to walk over towards a man in a tuxedo and a man who was dressed in something that he couldn't give a name to.
"Are you finding everything enjoyable?" The slightest Greek accent floated about his words.
Midori had dyed her hair pink for the occasion. It hung loose, long and straight and almost to her waist, strands not enough to cover the plunging, butterfly-esque neckline of her dress. Her mask was one that covered the entire face; she had picked it up in Murano, serindipitously being there when she had heard the news. She looked around for Thasios, who she was sure she could identify. Looking around, she faltered; maybe not.
Blinking as she heard strains of a familiar language, she stood still, trying to place the sound. Korean, most definitely Korean. But speaking one's own tongue was a dead giveaway, unless this person meant to be clever and trick others? She whirled around and strode lightly over to the source of the sound. A small girl (although, in stature, not much smaller than her) was apparently very confused, talking to another, much taller woman in feathers.
Alright, Midori was confused now too. The Korean didn't appear to be a female up close. It was... male. She peered at it, leaning in closely for inspection. "You shouldn't speak in Korean, you know. It's a giveaway. Now I know you're Korean!"
She failed to mention she didn't actually know of any Korean recruits.
Eknephias sniffled as held up a large, globular glass, it's bottom just touched by a thin layer of red wine. Another man had walked up, and Eknephias looked him over, languidly. He didn't know if he liked beards or not. He'd give them a chance. "Would you... like something?"

Perhaps the boy wasn't so slow after all, she felt a genuine smile cross her face and resisted the urge to clap her hands together with delight. Really the setting must be getting to her, she was not usually this excitable At least now she knew his name, she repeated it just to be sure, "Hee-o."
Now what? That exhausted her knowledge of mime talk. She looked at Hyo and rocked her feet at a loss and slightly uncomfortable. She was about to try speaking again when a brightly coloured woman appeared. Koree-an? How odd. At least Hyo had someone to talk to now.
She excused herself with a small bow and wandered over to where Johannes was standing. Mokoyis really hopped this person at least spoke english. "Good evening."

<"...you know korean?"> When he heard a familiar word, Hyo turned his head to the...woman? Probably woman, who just arrived. ..and...she...had...pink...hair... The startled boy took a quick step back, but managed to stop himself from running away. Demon or not, this person knew how to speak, and was his only chance to know what's actually happening. He looked at the woman, Mokois, who just left. Was she running away from the demon? Then she's smarter than she seemed. <"Excuse me, demon-woman..."> he made another step back, hoping that he won't anger the creature. He did need its help. <"Does that mean you are able to speak in a civilized manner?"> He took a strand of his hair, and slowly, slowly, was reeling it on his finger, trying to hide his nervousness. Demons were dangerous creatures. But he really had no choice.
