Lil had been thinking the same thing. Where were this person's credentials? Was Galad really this socially deprived, not to ask questions? She supposed she'd have to find a girlfriend for him or something. Maybe keep closer tabs on him.
She didn't like the looks of the whole situation.
Well, He needed her, in case this was a con or a robbery. She was a fairly good brawler, if she needed to be. They were on the passenger side, and she had a pile of stuff in the passenger seat so she wouldn't be able to get out that way.
She tried the drivers side door.... and the lock was stuck. Damn. This stupid car. She'd have to find a new one.
She shook the door, gritting her teeth and hoping she would be able to get out in time to protect her brother from his own stupidity. she glanced at them before trying the lock again.
the man was moving away. Something was up.
She tried again. The lock felt sticky, not working. she pressed harder and hoped.
"Yeah, and we dont have the equipment for it here." he nodded.
"Yes, but wouldn't it be in one of many different languages? The library had scrolls from all over the known world, right?" he said enthusiastically, gripping the case tightly, not a hint of suspicion in his voice or mind.
He notices his grip and embarassedly loosen's it.
"Your right. but is it all right to open it in this sunlight? Do you think it will damage it?"

Nara grinned wryly at the man's point. "True, but if the writing is modern, then we'll know for certain. Between my partner and I, we're familar with most of the modern written languages."
She sent a rather pointed glance at the woman seemingly trapped in the car. "I would have suggested that ally, out of direct sunlight but pleanty of ambient light to see, but seeing how hard you tried to get away.... " The relic trailed off for a moment. "It didn't seem likely to go over well."

Alley?! But... Couldn't he see how suspicious this was? How could she have a brother like this?! Oh, if he got out of this without getting stabbed in some dark alley, he would be getting a long lecture about street safety!!!
Lil glared back and tried the door again. What was with this door?! she'd have to get it checked, but right now she HAD TO GET OUT and rescue her brother. She struggled with the latch. Why wouldn't it open?!
Galad nodded. It made sense. He had enough of said sense to know that Lil would probably kill him for going in an alley with two strangers... But what harm could come of it.
Oh. right. Lil was scary when she yelled.
"Yeah. Sorry..." he glanced at Lil, "I wonder if that tree would do?" he pointed to a shady tree that seemed to be the mecca for every parked car in this heat. "I mean, if its a quick look, thats out of direct sunlight... and my sister wont kill me for it..."
Lil breathed a sigh of relief. Thank whatever powers that be that her bother wasn't totally moronic! She could feel the latch loosening just a little... hopefully she could get out before anything happened... the tree wasn't that far away...

Nara nodded, gesturing to her partner. "Sure, a quick look is all we need to know if we should run more tests or not. If we do, we can always schedule an appointment at the Library."
Thank god the woman was still stuck in the car. Quite possibly literally. Send a quick smile to Iian, the two headed towards the tree in question, carefully setting themselves up in a triangle, equidistant from Galad.

Galad's remaining sense was lost to the wave of giddy enthusiasm that came at the word Library.
They had rebuilt it, hadn't they? Did they model it after the original library?
He wanted to see it so bad. He hoped that the scroll would be authentic, just so he could go visit...
He didn't realize that he had handed the scroll to her until it left his hands. he clasped his hands, eagerly awaiting her judgement.
Was it real or was it fake?
He hoped it was real.
Liliedhe tried to see if she could struggle towards the back, to no avail. Dammit, why'd she have so much junk in here? Did she never remember to take it out?!
She hated being messy.
She tried it again, and this time the lock responded. Slowly, so slowly, it relinquished its lockedness as if sinking into something goey and sticky. eww.
She got out and stood in the sun, hand on the hot metal roof, watching the trio, ready to run to her brother's aid if he needed it.
She jerked her hand away, the hot metal having hurt it.
Stupid car.
Stupid little brother. He looked so happy, which was why she wasn't going to charge at them and carry him off on the spot.
If these people are what they say they are, this might be a real treat for him, she realized, But if they aren't...
Oh the betrayal he'd feel, and she'd have to do something.

Nara reached for the scroll, timing it just so that he released it barely before her hand was in reach. As it was the scroll slipped through, never once touching her hand and fell to the grass. As soon as it drifted to a stop a Nara's hands suddenly dissolved into a glowing green mist, wrapping all three into an equilateral triangle.
The mist lasted several heartbeats before a heavy thump was heard. Soon after that it dissipated leaving behind a young girl sitting on the scroll.
Nara fell backwards onto her bottom and sat there panting for a moment, eyes shut.

The second Lil saw the green mist begin to wrap around, she leapt just about up and over the hood of the car, denting it... and her foot (what a bruise she would have in the morning!)... in a hurry. Things had gotten into the paranormal- her element, her passion.
She ran as fast as she could, almost tripping over herself in her hurry
Wait til the club heard about this! Whatever it was.
He had seen it fall and was just about to bend over and pick it up to hand it over when...
What the hell?! Green...Green mist?
Galad gaped, and continued to gape, staring at the little girl now sitting on the scroll... who looked back at him with very strange eyes. it pulled at his soul, creating even more chaos in his mind.
"Whaaa?" he choked out, a sound that brought out all the confusion he was feeling at that moment.
So... Cute... Where... Shes... Huh?
His confused thoughts whirled, possibly snaking their way to a conclusion, but taking their time about it.
Lil stopped running a few feet away, panting with exhertion, eyes glowing with interest.
She wanted to know everything about what had just happened.
Everything.
"I think... You owe us... an explanation..." she panted, hands on her knees.
Only then did she notice that Nara wasn't exactly in a condition to speak yet.
Oh how single-minded the siblings were.
"er... When your ready..." she added hurredly.
She didn't even look at her brother, and hadn't registered the child on the scroll as more than a paranormality, not yet anyway.

Iian nodded his hood covered head and moved over to his partner helping her up.
Nara wheezed, nodding while slowly catching her breath. The woman gestured towards the direction of the Library.
"Let's.. Let's get inside... first."
