A forest, a mossy path, a brightly coloured caravan, two comanions and they were lost. Mekah stood in the middle of the road, his hands on his hips as he glanced between the two roads that forked off into the distance. "Are you sure it's west?" He asked, looking down the rather forboding path. "i swear the woman in the market said east."

Covet stood a little behind him, her hand running slowly down Kai's nose as she waited for Mekah to speak. Smirking at his words, she shook her head and reached up to push some of her dark hair behind her ear. "She said west," she repeated patiently, her eyes solely on him. "I remember her saying that we'd need to follow the sun. It's past midday, it will be setting in the west soon," she smiled and looked to Kai as she shifted her weight to one leg and continued to run her olive toned fingers over his soft white nose.

Wind Wheels, the new and improved Wind Wheels that is, trundled towards the west. It was a big change from the old Wind Wheels! Pearl, a big beauty of a horse, no longer pulled alongside Dan but a stallion named Bruno. The old mule Dan had been retired to a good life with little work and good food, in exchange for eggs and milk at a farm that already had enough horses to do the hard work.
The gypsy-painted farm cart was still there, hitched on behind the caravan itself, but it was now just a store cart rather than where Altaira and Sindri-the-bobcat slept. Altaira, Sindri-the-baby watching from her lap, was looking at a map.
Her brother Thuban was the one driving and it was him who pulled the wagon up behind Mekah and Covet, calling a greeting. The dark haired woman did look up to smile at the strangers sanding in the middle of the road.
"Hello there! Sorry to be a bother friends but the roads not wide enough for us to get by."

Mekah had been completely lost to his thoughts when he heard the shout. it would figure. They come into some deserted road and get caught up by traffic. He breathed through his nose and turned to face the voice that called to them and the caravan that accompanied it.
"Sorry." he said, walking towards them and running his fingers through his dyed hair. "We're a little lost. I don't suppose you know a good place to set up camp around here?"

Covet heard the caravan approaching and turned towards the creaking of the wheels and plodding of horses' hooves. Smiling at the warm greeting that was given to them, she bowed her head to the newcomers and laughed softly as the woman spoke. "You have to have an honest destination in mind to be lost Mekah," she smirked, glancing to her companion, then turned her bright green eyes back to the newcomers and taking in the gorgeous paintings on the side of their cart behind their caravan. Looking up at the family, her smile grew a little at the sight of the unusual little one on the woman's lap. Lifting her free hand, she waved to Sindri as she waited to hear if they might have some advice for them.

"Here, have a look at our map."
The woman said, handing it over to her brother. They were obviously related to look at them, though the child looked....nothing like either. Sindri was a strange looking babe with markings on his skin, claws and tufted ears. Al snugged him and tried to get him to wave back but he just yawned in way that was almost on purpose. She kind of liked to think it had been pointedly, just like the bobcat he had been would have yawned at being asked to greet random strangers. It was still hard to believe her dear cat had become a baby!

Thuban got down from the drivers seat, his sister Al remaining where she was with Sindri, taking the reins in her free hand to make sure Bruno minded his manners and stayed still. Thuban too had dark hair though his was shorted and pulled back, and his smile was more a half-grin. He was by far the friendlier of the siblings being less shy.
"Not really knowlegable about around here I'm afraid, we're just passing through. We're traveling to meet back up with our friends - gypsy caravan of about twenty two caravans now...Anyway, here's a map." He offered the map to Mekah.

It was the sound of several voices that woke Tsura from her partial dozing state. Traveling along a small road with not another soul in sight it had seemed ok to sort of rest for a bit. Ink and copper rarely strayed from and obvious path and if they got in in their minds to do so, usually to attempt to graze, she was still awake enough to feel the reins jerk in her hands so that she'd be conscious enough to straighten them back up.
Now however it was not that which brought back to a state of full awareness but the sound of other people, the possibility of brief conversation with another person. Directing ink and copper to pick up speed Tsura couldn't help but smile as the voices got louder and suddenly a small group same into sight. From the looks of things two wagons had stopped for some reason in the middle of the road preventing anyone from getting past them.
" Is everything ok" The young woman called out not wanting to get in the midst of a confrontation even though things seemed to look friendly enough.

A thin, polite smile appeared on Mekah's lips as he took the map. "Thank you." he said, rolling the parchment open expertly and taking it in carefully. "Twenty two caravans?" he asked, glancing up briefly. That sounded like his idea of hell. Little miss sunshine was more than enough company.
He found their crossroads and started to follow the lines east and west to see where they could head and be safe.
Another voice appeared from nowhere. He looked up and sighed. Yay, more company. he thought dryly

Covet laughed softly as the little one pointedly ignored her. He was entirely too cute in her opinion, she thought as she watched him for a moment then turned her eyes to the man that was with them as he got up and climbed down to join them. Taking in his features, she smiled and stepped away from Kai to join them as he spoke and Mekah unrolled the map. "Gypsies?" she smiled, her eyes flickering between the trio. She honestly couldn't think of a more exciting opportunity. To meet with such a free and proud people, almost immediately questions began to bubble forth in her mind, but they were put on hold as they were joined by another. Turning to the newcomer, Covet smiled warmly and nodded to her. "Everything is fine. My friend and I are just lost and seem to be taking up the whole road for everyone," she laughed and folded her arms behind her back. "Would you all like for me to shift our wagon out of the way?" she asked, taking a small step back and gesturing towards the brightly painted caravan.

"My sister moreso than me - I'm new to the gypsy life but Altaira's been traveling a long while now. And you?" Thuban started to explain and ask questions of his own, curious about the pair. He was always one to try to make friends or at least get a bit of interesting information during a random chat.
"We can shift ours as well?" He offered, calling back to Tsura.

Al and Sindri just sat pretty, she watching, the former bobcat baby not-watching. She was shy still, though Thuban's presence in her life and the much more managable Sindri were working wonders for her confidence.

Tsura shook her head, then swept away the stray hairs that fell in her face becuase of the motion. " It's fine I'm not heading anywhere in a real hurry take all the time you need." Just a little nosy and bored Tsura hopped down off the front seat of her wagon and walked towards where the others were standing. Predictably Copper and Ink veered off the road just enough to be able to grab mouthfuls of grass.

"We're just trying to find somewhere to stay." Mekah said as he traced a dark finger over the map. He really was not in the mood for all this lets tell our life story business. "Somewhere not too crowded."
His lips made a thin smile as he rolled the map up and handed it back to the man. "I told you it was East." He gave Covet a look and folded his arms again. "Thank you for your help, we may get out of your way now."

Covet smirked at Mekah's abruptness and watched him hand the map over, glancing up at him and smirking at the look he gave her. It amused her how important it was for him to be right all the time. Reaching out, she placed a light hand to his arm to stop him and turned a brillian smile to their newfound companions. "We're old friends, recently reunited and travelling aimlessly for a bit," she said with a friendly smile. It was nice to have some pleasant faces to converse with, rather than Mr. Sour Puss all the time. "I'm Covet, he's Mekah, it's a pleasure to meet you all," she smiled, looking to the two faces that had joined them on the ground, and then up to the pair still on the wagon. "Is your Caravan far?" she asked with bright eyes.

"We should be able to get to where the Caravan should be a bit late into the evening, time enough to set up for the night. It should be staying in place until we rejoin it and then traveling on after a day or two...unless we really like the pitch." Thuban explained, sensing that perhaps he'd run across some people who might like to come meet the others, maybe trade or just spend some time in company. He didn't think the pair'd be interested in staying at all since the man was clearly not keen on large groups. And Tsura'd just arrived.
"I'm sure you'd be welcome to come visit us, swap stories, trade and the like. It's a friendly sort of caravan and where it should be is a nice big patch of grazing land."
