"I don't know," he sighed, "I've never seen myself in a vision. I mean, I guess I could. It's been a while since I've had one. I'm sort of avoiding running right now. But if I fall down, I'm sure I'll get a vision. That's usually when they happen. Or right before I run into something. " he laughed ruefully, shaking his head. He continued to speak with his mouth full, though at least this time he was just working on a piece of the flesh, rather than the whole leg.
"You're very wise," he said, just pointing out something he noticed rather than trying to offer her a compliment. Compliments were tough for him, because if he realized he was being nice he would get concerned about ruining the moment, which often led to him doing just that. "Though, I'd like to see how an ant would save my life. So far, they just ruin my food."
He laughed and cleared his throat, looking down at the food awkwardly. "I mean, uh. I'm sure that they could, though."

Na'ima cringed a bit. Oooo...to have visions in such a...strange way was certainly uncomfortable. Perhaps it was best he avoided falling. It was hard to concentrate on a vision if being clumsy was required.
"Sadly...wisdom is something you acquire from seeing too much at the wrong time in the right places. But...better to be wise, I suppose. For one cannot get through life by being ignorant the whole time. If they could...well, I imagine that would be a rather dull life." And Na'ima, much as she loved peace...she wanted to earn it. She wanted to live a life as full as she could get. Even if there was fighting in it.
At his ant comments, she laughed. "No worries. Most of the time, they do spoil lunch. But they also chase off other things...like biting spiders."

"That's true. Well, I hope I'll be able to find some source of wisdom, somewhere. There's none in me, I'm certain of that," he sighed, then grinned. "I'm interested in having a fun life, not a boring one. I just don't want to get beaten up, embarrassed, or shamed in the process."
He frowned. He did not like spiders. More than he hated ants, he imagined. He didn't want to share this distaste though, having already made his distaste for ants clear. At least he hadn't said he was scared of ants at one time. Which was true. In his youth he had believed ants were capable of picking him up and carrying him away, and though he was much older now he couldn't keep the idea from popping up whenever he saw ants marching.
Blinking, he licked his lips and stood, bowing his head gratefully to the lioness who had let him eat. And had put up with his poor dinner manners.
"I should probably leave you alone... I'm... liable to start annoying you... or... something. Anyway, thank you for being so nice to me and..." he swallowed, having no real experience in giving compliments, "I think... you're very kind and pretty, and I hope... you find everything you want to find out here."

Na'ima blinked, then chuckled. "Those are worthy goals, Hadaya. Very worthy indeed." Who didn't want to keep from being beaten, embarrassed, and shamed? Sometimes...it inevitably happened...but that didn't mean one had to like it!
As he moved to leave, Na'ima nodded. "Alright...Thank you for your company though. It's always nice to talk with someone who hasn't let the world make him bitter." She was sincere. Even if he was awkward, Na'ima didn't mind. And perhaps...he would one day grow out of it. That would be a very good day for him, certainly. "Thank you for the hope and the compliment." Words held their own power...perhaps she would find the rest of what she was looking for. "I wish you well in your own searches, Hadaya."

Hadaya nodded, smiling and purring. He nodded again, realized he had already done that, then broadened his smile and turned away. He walked off feeling pretty good about himself and the meeting, despite the awkward moments.
"I hope we meet again!"
He called over his shoulder before bouncing off, tail and head high as he went. He laughed and hummed to himself. He didn't know why he was so happy, but he felt like he had accomplished something. And it was a good feeling.
End!
