Looking down at the slip of a girl across his lap, Gareth grumbles
What in the hell am I supposed to do with this? It's getting so a body can't ride without running into some mishap. Henry?! Where did he go?
Gareth looks around bad temperedly for his missing companion.
Henry, damnit! Where are you?
At that moment another crash is heard, only this time instead of horses, a man is seen careening out of control without a horse. As Gareth watches, stunned, his companion Henry is seen flying comically, almost in slow motion. With pinwheeling arms and a startled expression, Henry bellows loudly and then quickly vanishes in the tall green of the field.
Blast it all! Of all the idiotic....
Gareth stops short, as the girl he'd forgotton was on his lap stirs restlessly.
Ah, what have I gotten myself into here?
Gareth rubs his hand across his eyes in a weary gesture and looks down at the girl who is struggling, without much success, to regain conciousness. Encouraging his horse forward with a light tap, Gareth's expression darkens as he feels the girl begin to slip from his lap. Gareth shifts carefully as he moves the girl's legs to straddle and wrap around his waist. A strong arm across her back secures her in place, nestling her head into his shoulder gently, Gareth goes to check on Henry.
Ho there idiot, how bad is it this time?

Henry lay motionless, trying to avoid the tongue-lashing he was sure that would come. Silently praying that Gareth would think him dead and ride off, so he could waltz in later amid relieved faces. Hearing the thump of familiar boots nearby, Henry winced and started to raise his head, only to drop it again as Gareth boxed his ears soundly
Ow! I swear I hurt worse now than I did when I flew from that stubborn mount you leant me. Where did you....
Whatever else Henry started to say skittered down his throat as he stared at the bundle Gareth had secured to him, now, by a knotted blanket.
What have you there, Gareth? Surely not dinner. I scarce see enough meet to feed a child and I daresay the hair would get stuck in your throat.
Henry ducked again, chuckling, as Gareth swung at his head. Rolling nimbly, gaining his feet, Henry peered closely at the face of the young woman whose head rested on Gareth's shoulder.
At least you captured a comely wench. Better, I'd say, than the roans we were chasing. I doubt you'll be able to ride her, at least not while she's in that condition.
Henry paused as Gareth hefted and adjusted the weight of the girl, smiling broadly when Gareth tossed a dark look over his shoulder as they made their way to the waiting horse. Clearing his throat, Henry pondered how they three would fit on Gareth's destrier. For although the horse was huge, Henry thought, he was no small boy. So, he contented himself by walking slowly around as Gareth hefted himself and the girl onto the saddle.

Be glad you can walk, whelp.
Gareth spoke gruffly, though in truth, he was glad Henry did not injure himself overmuch. Henry was a close to a brother as Gareth had ever had. Tall, slender, and dark, Henry was Gareths opposite in every way except his eyes. In Gareth's case, he was thick, stocky and fair, his eyes a stormy gray as opposed to Henry's gray eyes which tended to flash green when he was angry. The thick muscles of his arm flexed slightly as he guided his horse slowly home. Glancing back, noticing Henry's limp, Gareth grumbled
See that tended to when we get home. As you can see, I have my hands full.
Henry ducked his head to hide his grin. In truth, the limp was for show, for all the good it was doing. All the same, Henry continued to hobble, whistling tunelessly as they continued the trek home.
The journey finally over, the girl wrapped warmly in blankets resting peacefully, Gareth settles next to her on a large chair.
Who are you? Where do you come from? Why, in the name of all that is precious, did you stumble into my path?
Reaching out to smooth the cover over the girl and to brush a gentle hand over the her forehead, Gareth suddenly snatches his hand back as the girl shifts. Her eyes open, startled, the girl begins to scream.
Well, there's nothing wrong with your lungs.

I think this is a wonderful sanctuary. I, too, love art and could be considered a Trekkie of sorts.
If anyone gets fould in here it will be deleted!
I love your avatar art, very well done. You've come a long way since the coconuts! Hee.
We will be starting a DragonHeart thread here for RP that begin many years ago. We look forward to having new activity, and will also put up a Characters Profile thread, and an OOC where. Details in those threads.

Well, today is the BIG day. I've been nominated for an award at work.
Wish me luck. My mother is going to the ceremony with me.
I told her at minimum, we get a free meal. I'm getting excited. I've pretty much kept a lid on it, so I wouldn't give myself a nervous stomach. Now that the day is here, I'm amped.
I'm going to go get my hair done *Which is all I can afford*
I'm wearing an off the shoulders, floor length, crush velvet materialed, deep purple dress.
eek I can't find my earrings. Ack!

Vagabond That's fabulous, nomee! ^^ Good luck and let us know how it turns out. (If nothing more, then how was the food?) I'm so glad you decided to stop by. I have tried without success to finish our tea. Well, the food was fabulous. Center cut steak with lobster pieces stuffed in the center. Pretty salad, warm rolls. Champagne.....and for dessert: a chocolate cup filled with cappachino ice cream and whipped cream in the shape of froth....it was too cool. I did not receive an award, but it was an honor to be there. One of the people in my department received an award. I was truly happy for him. I was, honestly, just glad to have been invited as a nominee.... I had a great time.
