Kizuka watched as the other ran off. She nodded to herself, knowing that was how it had to be. She looked around, sighed, and then moved off to the tree line. The shadows welcomed her and she reveled in it, her loneliness feeling as sharp and cruel as ever.
She needed to find a home for herself, with people that understood her. It was going to be a difficult task, but she could no longer bear the shadows selecting her interactions, and wanted more. Even if it meant making herself vulnerable.
"Good bye..." she said to Kasi, long after the other had gone. She hoped the cheetah would remember her, though she had offered her nothing. Kizuka would keep the cheetah in her thoughts for a long time yet. She had been the first person the wild dog had spoken to in a very long time, and she would probably remain that way for even longer.
Walking like a phantom on water, Kizuka returned to the night.
