Well, so long as she was convinced that they were free Tiruan would take her word for it. He knew nothing about slavery or Firekin or anything of that sort so he wasn't going to be the one to rain some negativity down on her parade. If she said they were free then so it would be. The lion wasn't about to go messing in things that would cause her to cry again. So far she was doing very well. It was comforting.
"Well, it wouldn't really be a problem," Tiruan replied with a small shrug. "I could use with a little outside adventure I guess." After all, his daughter was off having one. Why shouldn't he take a little trip? "And if they look like you then they shouldn't be too hard to find, right?"

Tanana was torn. Venturing with a stranger? That was just asking to terrify yourself in her position. Being alone, she thought, was worse. It wasn't something Tanana had ever thought about or come to fear, because she'd never considered a day would come she would be alone. The one thing Tanana did fear was the unknown. She'd never made a plan of what to do in a situation like this, again because she predicted she'd never be in one like it. It was completely in the dark what would happen to her. Secretly, she'd always been afraid of the dark.
Slowly--and it was, very, very slowly--she nodded, a motion of a signature signing the contract of their new partnership. That wasn't the right word, but she wasn't sure what the proper word should be. "Alright," she whispered. Shortly after the word echoed, more firm this time, "Alright."
And that's how it began.
