Where would we put up ideas for a roleplay without actually starting one? There's no point starting a roleplay thread if no one will play. So I want to see if anyone actually will play along the premise first.
Sorry for the late reply Gloomcookie.
Basically you have three options to choose starting out.
1) You can read one of the faction RP's in the faction thread (which are limited to the world we know as UnderGaia consisting of four underground cities), getting yourself up to speed on what's going on there. Then have your character approach the gates of a faction so to speak and enter the RP. You may be seeking temporary or permanent service with the faction, or you may just be visiting to get a feel. Keep in mind that the evil factions will probably question your motives and may be less hospitabl, but that's part of the fun. You can visit and PR in as many of the faction RP threads as you like (so long as you aren't godmoding by teleporting back and forth and carrying on two RP's with the same character all at once). At some point you may even request to join one of the factions, or if you like you can continue to fly solo.
2) You can visit the main RP sub-forum (which is not faction specific and more free to explore different genres) and join in any of the RP's there, which are not neccessarily limited to UnderGaia specific things. You can also start your own RP in the RP forums.
3) Finally, you can seek to start your faction (though I'd recommend trying that later on after your character were more developed, though you don't have to wait if you don't want). If you want to start your own faction, make a thread here in the OOC forum titled as the name of your faction. I'd recommend looking at existing examples. Once you are ready, whether you have members for your faction or not, choose an UnderGaia Town sub-forum and create a faction RP thread there titled with the name of your new faction.
*** Before you do any of this though, I would recommend just getting a basic idea of what sort of character you want to play. Once you have an idea, go to the Character Subforum: Portfolio of Villainous Proportions and post the basics of your character concept. You can always go back and edit it so you don't have to go into great detail up front if you don't want to.
Well, anyhow, I hope I cleared up some things rather than confuse. Feel free to ask more questions; most everyone here is eager to help. smile
