Ugh, what is that spreading across the floor? Is that...is that blood?! Oh, wait, no. That's tea! ...why is your painting leaking tea...?

It's a girl!

Of bleeding, tea and children

Hey I didn't sign up for a kid!

Delia sighed in delight as the hot water warmed her and settled her goose bumps. She hated having to get out of bed when it was cold, she would much rather just stay and sleep under her warm blankets. It didn’t help that it was still dark outside. Delia finished washing off her vanilla scented body wash and decided to stay in the shower just a bit longer, after all it was her business, she could open up a bit later. She still hadn’t tried to call the shop and see about getting another painting. She couldn’t very well tell the nice, somewhat odd looking woman, that the one she had purchased was burnt! Delia could lie, maybe say a friend liked it so much she wanted one for her house.

She reluctantly turned the slick knob back around shutting off the water and grabbed the purple towel she had hanging over the side. She stepped out and dried off her hair quickly, after all it was much to short to wrap up effectively. She affirmed her late arrival at work to herself and thusly decided to just toss on her bath robe and get some breakfast. It did strike her as being a bit odd that she faintly heard the sound of pouring water. Delia quickly brushed it off as being the pipes or it being sounds from the room above her even though she had never caught them being noisy before. What really surprised her is that it got louder as she progressed through the rooms. “All I need is some leak to complete my already awesome week,” she said as she rubbed her hands together.

And that is exactly what it looked like; well it looked like the picture was leaking blood. At first Delia was too shocked to do much of anything other than stare at it and curse her luck. She couldn’t quite wrap her mind around the fact that there was blood, which smelled an awful like that mint tea she was just about to make, was spilling forth from her painting. The liquid’s sputtering shook her out of her initial shock and her mind instantly started to replay all the horror movie scenarios inside her head. She chided herself for even thinking about them and walked cautiously over to the painting. It gurgled as the liquid, which at closer inspection did indeed resemble tea more than blood, which was somewhat reassuring, completely stopped. Delia stood rigid for a moment not letting herself relax until a few seconds had passed without it spouting out more tea. She sighed and followed the puddle. It spread outward on both sides of painting, which still rested on the floor, and luckily her couch stood a ways off the ground so it wasn’t soaked. She turned right to see what the puddle attacked only to meet a pair of dark eyes.

“Oh…..ah Hello.” Delia replied, all thought of death and stalkers out of her mind, the young girl before her hardly looked dangerous. Delia donned what she hoped was a friendly smile as she regarded the girl and found her style interesting. The girl just watched her with somewhat sad looking eyes. “Hmmm right…..where exactly did you come from?” The child pointed behind Delia who followed her finger and found that the painting was now gone. It looked as if it had melted into the tea as the very colors Delia had loved in the painting swirled in the dark tea. “Great! You came from the painting?” The girl nodded her head, “Well then, would you like some tea?” Delia needed to just be away from the destruction and think. She headed into the kitchen. Not only is her carpet probably ruined, she had a very quiet or mute child in her house that claimed to have come out of a piece of art. Delia really needed to find that number! The young, actually very young girl Delia noted in the light of the kitchen, followed her in and sat at the small table seemingly content watching Delia frantically look for the utensils for the tea. Delia mumbled a schedule to herself as she tried to figure out exactly what she was going to do about this whole situation. A soft voice asked, "honey?"
Delia turned around and nodded, "Of course." Well at least she could talk.
