Syera Miktayee The pagans/wiccans do. This page sums up how I feel it would work, if it does indeed work. Quote: This is the role that they play in the human equation. By becoming the focus of a myth that can be brought into reality, they provide the human with a tool that can be used for just such a purpose. Using them as an amulet or token that can be the focus. The human mind assigns it psychic power that actually brings about the sought after reality. FYI, I'm not pagan, nor wiccan >w< Just to get that out of the way.

Prince Gackt-sama ha-ha,yeah, magic? Not into that, sorry. Crystals give off waves, like she said and that helps to align your chacaras and what not to help you. Yeah, some of it is mind tricks, but some isn't. Yet malachite isn't a crystal, and neither are many "gems" used in healing, such as pearl, abalone, and obsidian (volcanic glass). Different people claim different properties for the same stone. Some people claim it has something to do with the color. If this is the case, I don't see why ordinary colored glass wouldn't be just as effective, or to take it even further, a box of crayons. And speaking of glass, why is it that people claim healing properties for volcanic glass, yet there's nothing special about our windows or glassware?

Personally, if I am feeling crampy, I take rosemary tea, and or willow bark tea with red raspberry leaves. Uva Ursi works well too. On the other side though, eating meat works well to quell things (buffalo meat yum) , and replenishes iron that is lost. Again, that is just me.

Moonstone is also good for any womanly problems, and I think carnelian is good for period stuff too.

Syera Miktayee *sigh* Cutting back on meat to cure all that ails you is largely lies and propaganda, trust me. There's more political motivation to the "meat is bad for you!" movement than scientific. Going "all raw" for extended periods of time isn't necessarily good for you, either. It may get rid of some problems, but may also bring on a host of others. And good luck healing yourself with jewelry. According to Buddhist and Hindu (specifically Ayurvedic) teachings on diet, meat and fish carry with it the negative energy accumulated from killing the animal, and so it's not advisable to eat them. Ayurvedic doctors are also concerned with the hormones retained in the animal such as adrenaline, which may be quite high after the ordeal of being carted to the slaughterhouse in a cramped box and being killed, which might give meat an addictive quality, as well as not being very healthy. I think it's a matter of personal opinion, but in my case I see more reasons not to eat meat than reasons to eat it. I agree about the raw food, a lot of food is more nutritious when cooked, tomatoes are a good example. No extreme, restrictive diet is healthy.

I don't know why people are always so keen on proof. Considering that science is constantly changing, with scientific theories being proved and then disproved and updated throughout history, there are many 'myths' I prefer to rely on, such as stone and crystal healing, which has worked (in whatever way it works) for centuries, without any proof whatsoever. Sometimes doing more good than scientific methods of healing.
