Rose smiled warmly at Kara.

"Then I'll see you tonight when I return," she murmured. "Safe trip!"

And with a wave she was gone again, disappearing into the trees.

"Well..." Donovan drawled out as soon as Rose was gone and out of ear shot, "That was more informative than I could imagine."

He gave a wicked grin and ushered his family back towards their intended path.

"Makes me wonder what sort of surprises Haradhel and Elrohir will try telling me."

"You're one of the few people I know who becomes gleeful over extra information," Kara rolled her eyes, "Do you not like surprises at all?"

Sometimes she had to wonder about Donovan, but that was Donovan's quirk. A while later (they had taken their time in getting to the ranch) they made it there, and Kara prepared for the usual parting.

In otherwords her children going off to visit the fighters and her and Donovan making their way to the Ranch house.

The ranch was as usual bustling with activity, though it was activity of a sort that happened only once each year: the crops were being harvested, and that had every available hand in the garden and field from sunup to sundown, everyone except those who were hunting or on guard duty, or had other work to do (such as the stable hands).

But as Kara and Donovan and the others arrived, two elves were heading from the direction of the field towards the house: Arwen and a very handsome elven man with short black hair and kind eyes. They were laughing and joking together, and at one point the man made a comment that made Arwen pretend to slap his arm, then giggle.

They were completely oblivious to the fact that they were not alone.

"Well... well.. aren't things getting curiousier and curiousier...." Donovan murmured watching the two.

Again he didn't recongize the person with Arwen... but... he had a hunch he knew whom it was... and the way the two were acting well... it was very interesting.

"Mii?" Miyu looked curious for once, partly because it was Arwen.

She had known Arwen since Arwen was small enough to play dolls with her on her first visit here. Even though Arwen had long since grown up without Miyu, Miyu liked being around Arwen. The little half angel skittered towards the laughing couple, skittering around to avoid the man (she didn't know him) to be at Arwen's side.

"Mi?"

Arwen looked down at the sound and clapped her hands together when she saw the little girl standing next to them.

"Miyu!" she squealed, picking her up and hugging her warmly. "Welcome back! It's been such a long time!"

She looked around and spotted Kara and Donovan, and she waved at them happily. "Welcome back!" she called brightly, putting Miyu back on the ground and skipping towards them. "It's been such a long time! How have you been?"

The man she was with chuckled softly and followed after her at a sane pace, hands in his pockets. He allowed Arwen to talk with the others, since it was clear they were dear friends of hers - and obviously the ones she had been waiting for.

Kara laughed softly as she waited for Arwen to get close enough for her to hug. It had been way too long. Even though Arwen hadn't changed physically since the last time she saw her.

"Very well thank you, and from the looks of it so have you," she glanced at the man with Arwen.

Arwen hugged Kara back, then stepped back and giggled.

"Sorry," she grinned, not sounding or looking very sorry at all. "I should have introduced you right away ... Kara Winters, Donovan Lau, Miyu, this is my husband, Roydon."

Roydon smiled and bowed his head respectfully. "It is a pleasure to see you again, Donovan," he said warmly, reaching his hand out for a handshake. "I'm not sure if you remember me ... you saved me and my sister Rose from the slave traders about eighteen years ago."

Fortunately for Roydon it hadn't been that long for Donovan, he wondered if Arwen ever told Roydon about that. Probably not there was no need for it as far as he knew. He shook Roydon's hand.

"You were the kid who asked questions," Donovan chuckled in return, "I remember."

Roydon was the more memorable kids he had ever met actually. Then again he was very outgoing, probably still very outgoing.

"Ah... you two got married huh?" Lin couldn't help but speak up she looked between the two.

She wouldn't have thought it back when she saw Roydon has a kid.

"Sounds like we missed out on a lot," Kara commented softly but she could remember Roydon too and knew what Donovan meant.

After all she had gotten a few of those questions as well.

Arwen giggled softly. "Actually, we just celebrated our first anniversary the week before last," she beamed. "We've been living in the same house where Uncle Lore and Aunt Elnara lived when they were here. Though I guess we won't be staying much longer," she murmured softly.

Roydon put one arm around Arwen and pulled her close for a hug. "It's not forever," he smiled. "After all, Lin's going to be coming to see us eventually - aren't you, Lin?" He grinned at the teen. "You look like you're about old enough for that trip we talked about - and Arwen tells me her cousin Earendil is as eager as we are. You're still coming, right?"

He had been looking forward to their long sailing trip for nearly as long as he could remember.

"Of course I am!" Lin spoke up before her father could even get a word in edge wise, "I've been training very hard for this and learning what I can!"

And really she spent a lot of time training... which kind of made Donovan twitch because he knew that she would have complained not a second ago how much of a sadist her teacher was.

He repressed a sigh.

Roydon's grin grew wider. "Excellent!" he exclaimed. "Then as soon as you're ready we'll be waiting for you in Namonuito!"

Arwen giggled. "And I'll be coming along, too, now!" she beamed. "I have to admit, I was a little reluctant to move away from here until Roydon reminded me that I'd be seeing you again ... though I did make him promise we could stay here until I could say goodbye to you."

She looked up at her husband and her eyes grew slightly sad. "But now that the time has come, I suppose we'll be leaving soon ..."

Roydon kissed Arwen's forehead. "We'll wait until after they go home," he assured her. "You'll have your time with them."

"Excellent," Kara smiled widely.

The two were so cute she thought to herself, it was good to see that Arwen found someone, though she was going to miss her terribly, and Kara wasn't going to be the one travelling.

"Then we must catch up on how things have been," Kara told Arwen firmly.
