Yeah, I agree about him going a little overboard about the schedule and expansion to other countries. But Goodell has done a really good job dealing with player problems, such as using performance enhancing drugs or violating a conduct policy. He's done a great job against Vick, Pacman Jones, and others.

Still he is starting to make it a no fun league. Celebrations are a part of the game, let them have fun. He's a good commish and good for the NFL he just needs to be tapped on the shoulder and reminded that this is a game too.

Yeah, good point. I miss creative celebrations a lot. I remember when the highlight reel was full of cool celebrations, and there basically aren't many right now.

Okay. You're right. Let's let Vick, who kills dogs, to play in the NFL without consequence. Let's let Pacman Jones play, even if he's had alcohol abuse problems, beat up a bodyguard, and led a scene which got someone shot at a nightclub. Let's let Larry Johnson play, even though he assaults women. Let's not fine players for cheap hits, which could lead to paralyzing a player, so that they'll do it again. Let's let players take steroids without punishment and taint the game. Let's let teams illegally tape playcalling.

...Get it? Goodell has been doing a fine job.

all that stuff is all right, it him fining pepole for their comments on hachuli, thats a violation of the 1st ammendment. and him fining pepole for non-cheap hits. he has probably never played football in his life, and he probably doesent know how caught up in the game u can get. and the fining for celebrations are ridiculous too!

Taglabu we need u back!!!

Goodell isn't taking away their right to say that stuff. He's just fining them for violating terms of a policy, instilled by the NFL. Also, refs miss calls in games all the time, and can't see every cheap hit. The NFL reviews them, and fines them so that people don't get career-threatening injuries.

Are these two hits, which were fined, clean?

the boldin hit, he was just trying to knock the ball of cause if he landed it would be a score, i call it good D.

and the hines ward hit, i call the a Hell of a block.
i would have done the same thing in those 2 situations

For the Boldin hit, that no-name Jets defensive back lowered his head and aimed high without any consideration. The Hines Ward hit was flat out cheap. His offensive player was about three yards away, about to go out of bounds, and Keith Rivers was slowing down because he wasn't gunna catch him. Ward put down his head, aimed high, and now the rookie LB is out for the season.

Anquan Boldin says the hit was clean.

I watched Jim Rome today and he was burning on Matt Jones and how Goodell runs football nowadays. I hate how players have to keep their uniforms all tucked in and their socks pulled up. I hate how defensive players can barely touch the quarterback. I see how players could get really hurt from playing like that, but that's a chance they take when they strap on pads, no?

Okay, wow...

Just when I was starting to defend the NFL and Roger Goodell, I find out their newest fine. The NFL fined Giants DE Justin Tuck $7500 for his "hit" on Dallas QB Brooks Bollinger. That had to be the cleanest tackle I've ever seen, and looks like a perfect textbook tackle. The ruling was that he "put all his weight on the QB."

...Watch the clip, and decide. How the hell is this dirty?:
