Saedah felt really bad, but she wasn't really ready to come face to face with a dragon....even if it was still in the egg. It...just...made her tummy do little flip flops thinking about it. What if the dragon hatched like...this moment? What if it was hungry? The idea it could bite Reese sent her skin crawling.
"S...sorry Reese..." She murmured feeling tears gather in her eyes.

Was she gonna cry? Oh no! Nonono...no crying!
"No, Thaedah!" Reese said, taking an abrupt about face in his wheelchair to move back over to the girl. "It'th okay, don't cry..." he rushed, stopping in front of her and reaching to put his hands on either side of her arms.
"It'th okay, really! You tried, and that'th what matterth. No reashon to be thad...you gave it your besht, right?" he said, dipping his head to try and peer upwards at her...offering a smile and trying to get her to be happy again.
Man, he hated seeing her sad.

Big fat tears dripped down the sides of her face despite her trying to hold them back. Raising a hand she hurriedly tried to sweep them away only to find that Reese was holding her arms. She shook her head again trying to perhaps distract herself from the fact she was now full blown crying.
"I..s..hic...s..s..hic...s..orry...hic.." she managed to hiccup between tears.

The tech took the unnoticed moment to put away the dragon egg before it dried out. Which was fine...Reese had more important things to do.
Like comfort Saedah. Crap, he didn't know what to do! She was crying...at least she wasn't wailing. That really bothered him.
"Thae, Thae! Shtop....shtop, it'th ok," he hushed her gently...and suddenly just reached out and hugged her. It was the only thing he could think to do! It's what Wilbur and Edge had always done whenever he'd hurt himself or gotten upset.
And it used to work...why wouldn't it work for Saedah?
