He stumbles a little when the paw is pulled away. He looks up but just shrugs. "So? We are close enough for it to be true." He gets up and follows Grinch, listening as the big lion talks about finding him a mama.
"I'd like a mama too...but i want you as my papa. Does that mean we'll be one happy family?!" He runs between Grinch's legs, grinning broadly. "I bet you'll rule at being my papa! Your so cool."

"I rule my own den, I wasn't meant to rule a little Aidan." Grinch muttered. He needed a lioness, someone that would make this cub see reason, and he needed to find one now, now, NOW!
"Let's follow the stream down, we'll find you a ma and maybe a real kind of pa. There's always animals around the water." He knitted his eyebrows, "Stop that, you'll get stepped on! ... Can't you walk any faster?
Right, it took about fifteen steps for Aidan to make his one, Grinch bent down and picked Aidan up, "'fill find f'um'fin." He muttered.

Aidan laughs when Grinch picks him up, relaxed this time unlike the first time he was lifted. He holds his paws close to his body, though his hind legs dangle a bit. He stays still so he doesn't make himself too hard to handle.
"Thanks. It's hard keepin' up with ya. Your a lot bigger than me." He smiles as he scans the area, enjoying the view from where he hangs.

"Sah's'a'ree.." Grinch muttered.
Talking with a cub in his mouth certainly made him incomprehensible.
It also made him thirsty. He went on for a good, long while like this, but finally settled Aidan down and wandered over to the stream to get a drink.
A big toad was near where Aidan was settled down and the first move the cub made, it made a large croaking sound and started to hop away.

Aidan wriggles when the big lion tries to talk, the feeling tickling him. When Grinch finally puts him down he stretches and looks around. Behind him he hears a croak. He turns and spots the toad.
"It's huge...and weird lookin'" He crouches, just watching it for a moment, then bounds after it fully ready to pounce on whatever it is. "I'm gonna getcha!" He pounces but the toad jumps away. He frowns and runs after it. "Hey! Wait up!"

The toad made another large sound and continued to hop--he didn't go into the water, but a muddy part of the bank. Hop, hop, LEAP! Away, away from the thing chasing him! Aaahh!
The toad made a final gigantic leap into large cattails growing in the bank.

Aidan bounds after the toad at a high speed, jumping when it jumps until he lands in a pool of mud. He sits up and spits out mud. "Bleck!" He gets up and prepares one last try, pouncing after the toad into the cattails. He lands on top of the toad, yelping as it moves under him.
"What?! Where'd the thing go?! What...WHAT'S UNDER ME??!? He thrashes trying to bat the thing away, having lousy luck as he trips in another pool of mud. He finally gets away from the toad and tumbles backwards down into the muddy water. Squirming like mad.

The toad too was wild with fright. IT JUMPED ON HIM! IT JUMPED ON HIM! Oh, oh, it was gone! Jump away to freedom, go awaaaayyy from this scary beast that had attacked him!
Ooh, NO!!!
In the toad's panic, it had jumped right on top of the scary beast. NNnoooo!! Ok, ok... JUMP away again! Jump---ah--eh---HEY, that had been his leg!
Grinch had peaked over to investigate the thrashing, then opened his mouth at the wrong moment to either speak or start roaring in laughter. The toad had about leaped into his mouth, and he'd clamped his mouth down immediately. The result was that he had a frog's leg in his mouth.
... Oh... Ugh! Grinch spit it out on top of the toad.
Ooohh, mercy! He had his leg back, but--like, why wasn't it attached? Oh, cruel world!
Grinch opened his mouth again to laugh.
"Oh, the things you do! Come, hop on---eh, me, and into the water you go." He picked Aidan up and swung his head over, going just a little ways to put him back down at the edges of the water.

Aidan looks up and laughs seeing the toad's leg in Grinch's mouth. "Spit it out!" He yelps when the toad lands nearby. "Stay away from me you big...thing!" He looks up when Grinch laughs, and he crosses his paws over his chest. "It snuck up on me in there...I woulda' gotten it..."
When Grinch puts him down near the water Aidan happily dives in, washing the mud off. It had made him feel heavier than normal for a while there. "Thanks. " He finishes and steps out, shaking himself dry.

"Frog, it's a frog," Grinch corrected Aidan, "Frogs are good to eat if they don't surprise you."
"Now, you sound like a giant tree falling when you're stalking something. If you were quieter about it, I bet you would catch a frog if you wanted to."
Grinch decided to demonstrate, hunching down now and stalking by the bank, feet careful to feel the ground so as not to step on anything that would give him away.
Then, with a flip of a paw, he knocked a mouse of it's spot, skittering it into the water. "See?"

"A frog. Ok, i'll remember that." Aidan watches closely as the big lion demonstrates. He grins when he sees Grinch knock a mouse into the water. "That was cool!"
He gets up and copies Grinch, sneaking up behind a smaller frog, grabbing it between his paws. He puffs out his chest and holds the frog up. "See? I caught a frog!" He lets it go and it hops away.
"See? You are an awsome papa. I told ya didn't I?" He smiles up at the bigger lion happily, tail swishing.

Grinch watched Aidan with a bit of a smirk. He was a quick learner! "You did good."
"Now, enough of that!" Grinch answered to the second part, whacking his paw down so that the water splayed around, some of it splashing on Aidan, "Come on now, let's go."
He turned away again, "ANY LIONESSES AROUND!?!" He yelled out, then turned to smirk at Aidan again, "You coming, or you gonna play in the water?"

Aidan grins up at Grinch quite enjoying his company. He jumps when the big lion yells though, caugh way off-guard. "Careful...that was loud..." He runs up to Grinch and nuzzles the big paw in front of him with a smile, his tail wrapping around it.
"What if we can't find me a mama?" He looks up at the older lion curiously. The thought sure didn't bother him, he wouldn't mind just being with Grinch at all. "Not that i'd mind just having a papa."

Grinch pulled his paw away from Aidan, "It's not a toy to hug on!' He grumped, then sighed, "Are you tired then?"
He sighed and looked around. Was there a place to curl up and take a nap?

Aidan yawns and looks around, sleepiness catching up with him quickly. He nods to Grinch's question. "Yeah...i'm tired..." He blinks as he rubs his eyes.
He walks over to a shady spot beneath a tree nearby and lays down. "Over here."
