((I may have to get off in a second.))
Again pretending to be intent on his work, Maxier listened closely.

[[Yes, she is a cheater xD]]
Hanu smiled ruefully, not buying the name, but not pressing the matter. "I'm Larkstongue. Pleased to meet you." The use of her real name, was, of course forbidden by her own code of laws. Never give out your name to a complete stranger. There were few things more stupid. Larkstongue, the alias she had taken up three years ago, was her favorite to use as of late. It was completely unlinkable to her real name, unless you knew her entire history, which she herself didn't even remember.

So... blackbird and larkstongue were his guest's names. They were probably fake- many travelers who arrived this late were ones who concealed their Identity. It didn't matter- Maxier wasn't one to pry. Finally he turned, and set Larkstongue's drink on the table. "May I help you?" He asked Blackbird politely.

Jester looked at the boy coldly. He hated ravens. Just then, there's a scratching at the window. A red eyed raven wants in.

Hanu took a sip of her drink, smiling in satisfaction, "You're a very good brewmaster, sir." Looking over at the window, she saw the raven scratching at the pane, "Looks like someone wants to get out of the cold too." Seeing the look in Jester's eye, she asked, "You're not too fond of the birds, are you?"

"Cold doesn't affect them." Jester's eyes were, though he tried to hide it, full of fear. "And I usually get along with birds, but not the Spies." He looked at Hanu. "That thing doesn't want to get out of the cold. It wants to get to me."

Hanu raised an eyebrow, "Huh... Spies, eh? Well, we just won't let it in. It can't break in, right?" She looked at the raven again and made a face at it.

"Hm... Most intriguing," murmured Maxier to himself. "Thank you," he said to Hanu. "If you will both excuse me for a moment, then I shall address our unwanted company." He quietly stepped out from behind the counter, strode across the room to the door, and exited. It was quite chilly outside. The raven was still perched on the windowsill. As Maxier exited the Inn, however, it turned its beady eyes to him. "Go now," he whispered to it. "Go now, and tell your kin not to return here. Just because I am like you does not make me your ally." He doubted the raven would listen to the latter part of the instructions, but it flapped its way up into the night and was gone. He turned and stepped into the warmth of his business once more. "My apologies," he said lightly as he made his way back to the counter.

Suddenly, Jester's eyes widen, then go all black. His voice changes, going almost snobby, and bored. "Is this the best you can do, brother?" He laughs a very eerie laugh. Like someone banging a drum in an echoey room. "How sad. Really, your mind is completely disorganized. Did you think you could hide from me? I'm with you where ever you go." He draws a large, black, serrated sword out of the air. The sword has a dragon carved on it. He runs two fingers down the dragon's spine gently. "Sneak them out... They must be near by now." And then the dragon flies out the window. There is no visible damage.

"Um, right." Maxier had no idea of what had just occurred, or who exactly Blackbird/Jester had been talking to. If he did no one thing, it was that those ravens reminded him a lot of his arch enemy's, Prince Sevonne's, servants. And no rook waned to run into Sevonne's Servants. They would be especially displeased to see him, because he was in league with Lieutenant Rinzu. And Lieutenant Rinzu had insulted Sevonne in such away that was unforgivable in the rook's lore.

Jester laughed. "My name is Blackbird. The real Blackbird."

"I have nothing to say to you, Blackbird. Your logic defies me," Maxier said softly, in an almost conversational tone.

Raising an eyebrow, Hanu slowly and deliberately put her glass down on the table with a soft clink! Much more swiftly, she half-drew a single katana from a sheath hidden at her waist. The blade glinted with a pale purple glow, seeming to radiate small ripples throughout the air around it. She glared at Blackbird, "Wait, back up. Just who are you now? Because I don't remember hearing your name before."

"Oh, you've heard my name. My brother, Jester, uses it instead of his own." Blackbird tells Hanu, ignoring Maxiar. "I am the one who has to take care of him, since he's to dense to do it himself. Jester isn't his real name, either, by the way."
