"I do too!" Austin yelled, picking up a glob of pumpkin guts from the small trashcan and throwing it at them. "She's MY CREWMATE!"
"Okay, that's enough of that," Antony said. "If you throw any more I won't finish your pumpkin."

Despite the chill in the air, Kaimi was dressed like a mermaid with a shiney skirt-tail and even a pair of big plaster "seashells" as a top. It left a lot of skin open to the weather, but she barely seemed to mind as she got out of the car and made a beeline for the pumpkin carving. Naomi had told her about carving pumpkins and she couldn't wait to try it herself! "Mom! C'mon! Hurry!" She shouted as she made it over to the tables. The skirt, as nice as it looked, was tight and hard to walk in.
She recognized Antony immediately from the park and looked around hopefully to see if Delilah or anyone else she knew was there. Grinning, she gave him a wave and then went to pick out the perfect pumpkin.

Nataya walked over towards the tables, smiling as she carried the large orange vegetable. She wore a dark purple lolita-esque dress, black mary janes, and a patch over one of her eyes. Black cracks had been drawn on her face, coming from beneath the patch. Her hair, a bit wavy from failed attempts to curl it, hung in two ponytails. Behind her, a small figure cloaked in a white ghost-sheet followed closely behind her, clinging to the back of her dress.
She blinked, pausing and watching as a little pirate-boy threw a handful of pumpkin goop. Smiling and shaking her head, she walked over to the table, sitting down the heavy vegetable down where there was space. "Hello, everyone." she said, her tone cheerful.
The little 'ghost' behind her peeked out at the others. "...'lo," the little one said softly, green-yellow eyes looking at everyone before she retreated back behind the older girl.

Picking out the biggest, roundest pumpkin she could find, Kaimi struggled to get it over to a table and ended up plopping it down right next to Nataya. Recognizing the winged girl, she grinned. "Heya! I remember you! I like your dress!"

Nataya smiled brightly at Kaimi. "Thank you." she said, giggling. "I like your skirt; it's all shiny and pretty! What are you dressed up as?" She moved over a little so the girl would have a bit more room.
The little 'ghost' moved to the other side of Nataya, away from the scary new person. She peered out at her and her larger pumpkin. She wanted that pumpkin; it was better than theirs.

"I'm a mermaid!" Kaimi announced proudly, wiggling the fin-like bottom of her tight skirt and tossing her hair back behind her back. Naomi had managed to make it from the car to the pumpkin carving tables and was surreptitiously slicing the top off Kaimi's pumpkin while the girl chattered away gleefully.

"Awesome!" Nataya said, grinning brightly. "You make a very nice mermaid. I'm a dolly, and 'Zuba's a ghost." She motioned to her new sibling as she spoke, and the little white sheet hid a bit farther behind her. Nataya began cutting the pumpkin carefully, making a circle around the stem. "So....what are you putting on your pumpkin?" she asked, curious.

Turning her attention back to her pumpkin, Kaimi considered it thoughtfully. "M'not sure... maybe just a big smile!" She didn't think she wanted to make a scary pumpkin. She'd rather make something silly. "What about you?"

Nataya put a finger to her lips, tilting her head to the side. "I don't know....I didn't even think about that..." she said, looking to the orange vegetable set before her.
Zuba looked at the pumpkin, tapping the front of it with one small claw. "Ghost." she said, looking up to her sister. "Cut ghost." She then looked at Kaimi for a moment, getting an idea. "Smiling ghost."
"Well, it looks like we're carving a happy ghost." Nataya said, her tone content as she started to 'sketch' the outline of the ghost on the pumpkin before cutting into it.

Kaimi smiled at the little one behind Nataya and winked. "A smiling ghost sounds good. I think..." She grinned. "I think I'll just put flowers on mine." Kaimi was good at doing flowers. And while they weren't particularly halloween-y they were nice and summery and warm. Kaimi liked warm.
