Rue had awoken an hour our so before him. Fully rested and feel better. Her body was still sore from over using yesterday but it was just like it used to be after training with her father. Her dad would batter her around ruthlessly to make her better in fighting and strength. She was now on hunt for food. She knew Titan would be able to hunt to well for weeks so she decided to go ahead and kill him something while she was on her way. She trotted into the clearing, seeing Titan awake. Good. In her mouth, she possessed three brown hares dangling lifelessly. She set them down next to him, smiling a little. "Nice to see your awake." she whispered quietly, taking a hare and starting to strip the fur and flesh.

He felt panic, then relief when he saw her return, three hares dangling from her jaw. He could feel his mouth watering but he hid it, acting unintrested. "Thanks." was all he said, before he took one, eating it all. He prefered to hunt for himself but he wasn't stupid. He knew that declining her help would mean certain death for him. Uncertain whether she meant for him to have one or two of the hares, he tried to strike up another conversation after a moments silence. "Did you rest well?" he asked.

She scooted the hare towards him, seeing the hunger in his eyes. Ripping a leg from rabbit she had, she swallowed quickly, scarfing it down in hunger. "I rested just about as well as possible.." she admitted. "It wasn't restful but it was healing.. I feel better at the most." she sighed and chewed on another part of her breakfast. "I know you didn't rest to well.." she said, matter-of-factually. When I woke up you were whining about a Sonnet and snarling.." she whispered, not sure if it was right to bring that up. Regretting it quickly, she lost her appetite and scooted what was left of her rabbit at Titan.

He was glad for the extra rabbit and he ate it, assuming Rue had most of her fill before she came back. "Same." he said, swallowing another chunk. His ears perked when she mentioned him and his fitful night. When she mentioned Sonet, he regretted sleeping so close to her, with thoughts of Sonet in his mind. As far as he knew, no one knew about him and Sonet being together but him, Ark, and Victoria and he planned to keep it that way. Losing his appetite also, he nudged the left over hare with a paw, staring at it and trying to come up with a convincing lie. "She was my... mother." Alright, that could work.

Rue nodded, understanding still. "I see why you'd dream about her.." she whispered quietly and laid her head down on the ground, looking up at him. Her ears flickered each time a creature stirred or made a noise. She would be the defense for the both of them if there was an attack. The memory of her and her brother was almost so vivid it stung in her heart. She clenched her eyes shut to fight of tears and to try and smear the memory away. No luck. The memory flooded in her eyes, remembering the wolves that charged and attacked them. She took the blunt of each attack towards her brother and the full force of the those aimed for her directly. She'd stood against them for as long as she could before she told Kashikoi to run. Run and find shelter. She bolted the other way, hoping to drive some off of him. Six went about her, three after her teenaged brother.

He looked away, shamed that he'd have to lie but glad that she believed him. Bored because he couldn't do much with his leg, he looked around and noticed that Rue was concentrating on the noise of the creatures and... something else. He could see some of her tears but they did not spill and she seemed to be in a state of depression. He felt sorry for her, knowing she was thinking of her brother for he wore the same expression when he thought of Sonet and what had happened. Trying to help, he wiped away an overflowing tear so it wouldn't stain her cheek.

Rue was taken off guard by Titan's show of affection but didn't jump or move away. She just laid there and licked his cheek in return. She whined at the painful memories and nudged towards him, really wanting comfort. She'd been in this situation when she just wanted someone with her in the pain, just it was never available, at least until now.

Titan was surprised by Rue's lick but didn't react. Instead, he hardened his features so that no emotion would show. At first, he moved away when she came closer but after a while, he sighed in defeat and dragged himself towards her, so that their sides were touching, his tail wrapped around her. He hoped she wouldn't do anything else, since he had no idea what one was supposed to do to comfort someone, especially when it was a crying female. If it was a male he could have just said, "Buck up" or something like that but through observation, he noticed females tended to be more... violent emotional.

Rue felt dejected when he moved away from her. She was probably being stupid. Emotional little whimp she was. Standing to her feet, she didn't want Titan to feel uncomfortable. He was probably in more pain because of her forcing him to move. She trotted a few feet away, laying down, folding her right leg under her and resting her head on the one extending forward. "Sorry.." she whispered, freezing her emotions to nothing.

Titan flattened his ears, wondering if his comforting skills really were that bad. Things hadn't exactly gone "good" or even "could be better" with Victoria after all.... They were more of, "do that one more time and she dies" material. Deciding it was probably best if he didn't try to help her for now, he flexed his leg experimentally and replied with a, "That's alright." He watched her for a few seconds before glancing around. She could come back to him whenever she wanted to.

Rue just laid there, trying to think of something to do. She was sure he was still full so hunting was out. He seemed relaxed enough. It was still earlier morning, the sun barely up. Sighing to herself, she tucked her head in to her chest and closed her eyes. If he wanted something, he would ask...probably. She was still worrying about him for some reason. Respect only went so far... Was..was she starting to care about him? No, not even possible. He was part of the horde that might of killed Kashikoi! The pack that killed her babies!

Titan, thoroughly bored after a few minutes of silence, flopped around on his side. Sure, it was fun lifting all four paws at one time but after a while, it just wasted his energy and caused the dust to rise. He wa s starting to get thirsty but he didn't want to ask for her help. What if she was tired, too? Wait... tired? Why would he care about that. He shut his eyes tightly, denying the thought and reasoned that he just didn't want to make himself look too needy. Washing his wounds and getting him a few hares were a lot of work, right? Right. Speaking of hares... he turned to see the unfinished chunk still there. He shuffled himself closer and ate it, just to pass the time.

Rue looked up when she heard him rustling, wanting to make sure he wasn't trying to walk on his own. She saw him eating the rabbit and immediately her mouth watered. She hadn't noticed until then how thirsty she was. She could only imagine how thirsty Titan was. "Theres a stream near by.. do you want to try and make it over there?" She asked, cocking her head slightly, her voice quiet and numb, still upset with herself.

Titan flicked an ear to show that he heard. He nibbled on the rabbit more slowly, to buy himself more time. He was thirsty but he didn't want to ask for her help. Her voice sounded a bit different, perhaps she was thirsty as well? "Sure. I can go on three legs." he said. He'd seen others walk around like that but he wasn't sure how to do it himself. Rising slowly with his uninjured back leg first, he practiced. He could walk around normally with his front feet but he had to go slower since he was unused to hopping. He tried going faster but it made him try to walk with his injured paw, because he was so used to it. Hoping she wouldn't mind his slow speed, he padded back to her a bit to show that he was ready.

Rue was already on her feet, watching him, ready to help if he fell. "Ready?" She asked, and with out waiting for an answer, she padded over to his side and stood, waiting for him to start walking so she could more easily go with his pace. Plus she'd be there to have him lean on if he slipped or he gave out. "Its not too far away.. just about ten yards that way." she motioned forward, then stared back at him curiously, worried.
