She awed at her aunts story. She had no clue that there were other prides out there, but she wasn't one to really question that sort of stuff unless it was something she needed to know for being a warrior. "Whats a... slave?" She asked. She heard that word before, but didn't know what it meant. She couldn't ask her mother, what if it was something terrible and would be something she wasn't to speak of?

Koi looked down to the small girl and felt a lump raise in her throat. Slavery was something this cub was unfamiliar with and it would hopefully stay that way forever. She lifted her head and sighed. "Slavery... slaves.... are lions and other creatures that are bound to another creature and must do as they are told-no matter what. They can be beaten, hurt, killed and made to things unfair and unethical... and there is nothing it can do."
She sighed and looked skyward for a moment. "Liza was a slave... he was told to do everything he did. I do not dwell into his past much. I just... assume that things happened...'

"That's horrible!" She said, at least if she was the slave. Her mother told her something like that could happen in this pride, but it was different. Servant was the word, not slave. Were they the same thing just different words? She didn't want to ask her aunt that.
Melusine wasn't sure what her aunt was talking about all, and in doing so she made an odd face up at her. How can slavery be amusing? What was she talking about? Where was this going? So many questions for such a small cub, but that's how it was all the time.

Koi nodded her head slowly. It was a horrible thing. She had never inquired to what ever happened-but she knew it was most likely horrible. She decided that this was enough for the little lioness to handle and would at least-give her something to think about for a while.
"I think it is time you go back to your Mother dear..." She said simply, bending down and giving the girl a lick on the head. Then, she started to lead the way-back to Melusine's mother...

Melusine nodded at her aunt. She wanted to stay longer, but it wasn't her place to say anything. Her aunt was boss when her mother wasn't around, and she never directly disobeyed her mother. "Alright." She followed kinda saddened that their little visit had come to an end. Another time, another place, she'll meet her aunt again. Who knows, maybe cubs will be involved next time. And with that, a slight smile crossed her face. She really wanted more cubs her age to play with.

Koi smiled to herself, padding along through the forest and leading little Melu to her mother. She gave her a curt nod, before heading off to talk to Liza for a while-she was starting to miss him.
But, the one thing she needed to find-would not be awaiting her.
