"Well, some listen better than others," said Laial thoughtfully, and then, blowing bubbles a bit, he sank into the water, to pursue the weights. One tentacle, the one he relied on most, whipped forward and curled around a weight with surprising skill. A few others followed, and it wasn't as if the boy couldn't take his time. It was a little tough, but before too long, he surfaced, triumphant, with a weight clutched in each tentacle, other than one scarred tentacle he kept clutched close.

"How's that?" Laial asked, once he'd filled his lungs with air instead of water, and he waved the weights about a bit, beaming with pride.

Kuyoja watched quietly as the child took his time. Good, he knew better than to rush something of this nature. Pleased he didn't look it though he did nod his head in approval.

"Very good." He swam to the boy and reached for the weights gathering them together. He took note the one scared up tentacle the boy was clutching but didn't comment or ask how it came to be. If the boy felt obliged to tell him then so be it. Otherwise it wasn't really his business to inquire.

"Now I want you to do it again. this time though I want you to pick up only the yellow colored weights with your right tentacles and the red with your left." He continued he was truely testing the limits of these appendages.

"Again?" Laial's nose scrunched a bit, but he nodded, biting his lip as he watched the weights slip into the water again. Okay, this wasn't that hard... Yellow with the right, and red with the left... Darn it, this would be a lot easier if he could see better, but he obediently dipped under the surface, reaching out. The first one was easy as before -- left dominant caught a red, and then the most dominant right one caught a yellow.

It was a bit harder after that -- he nearly tied himself into a knot with deciding which tentacle was on which side, but with some concentration, he took control of them -- it was a task he'd never been asked to do before. It took him longer than before, but he did persevere before he'd let himself come to the surface, exhaling water again.

Kuyoja continued to tred water as he watched his student work through the task given to him. When Lial finally managed to resurface he gave a nod of his head to indicate he did well.

"Good. I would suggest perhaps practicing this sort of task at home. Allowing your tentacles to practice something like this on a daily basis will give you a higher control over them." He stated with a nod. He was just guessing but he was figuring given how long it took Lial to do that task it was a feesable goal to work towards.

"I can see your tentacles being very useful in comabt if you had full control over most if not all of them. " He went to retrieve the weights before he swam to the edge and then placed them there. He dragged himself out of the water efficiently and then went to a box he had placed a bit further away.

"How strong are youre tentacles?" He inquired as he went to get heavier weights from the box.
