My Hollow Gravechylde My Hollow Woah, woah, woah, yes I did. In your eyes stupid, quite possibily, but there is no WAY I am going back on that statement. Unleashed had already released 5 albums before Amon Amarth released their first album. LYK I TOTALLYHAD NO IDEA. Oh wait, I did. They were releasing legit death metal, then started hiding behind the viking themes. How did they rip off Amon Amarth though? They were doing it first.

I still say they are a ripoff. Even the first two albums had some Viking (or at least battle) themes.

My Hollow Digital Malevolence My Hollow Death metal their later material is about vikings and honor and mostly anti-Christian themes and Christ bashing. Wow, they are so cool. rolleyes I realy see no point in them headlining, they aren't folk or viking metal. I think the headlining spots should be reserved for folk/viking/pagan metal bands. Not some barely recognizable death metal band with a few references to vikings because that's the kvlt thing to do now. Oh, thats why I haven't heard of them...I hope they add at least one decent band to the list. But yeah, thats like the concert I'm going to on Saturday, its called "twilight of the thunder god tour" with Amon Amarth, Ensiferum, Belphegor and The Absence. So pretty much Death Metal featuring a Viking Metal band! the concert I'm going to on friday sounds worse then that one though... Just yet another Amon Amarth rip off. Ah.

The War Starter MegaTherion777 The War Starter MegaTherion777 question: does it matter? answer: not really no it doesn't, but it's a ridiculous statement to call them ripoffs because some other band does the whole viking theme, when they've established their sound and made their name before amon amarth even came into conception, AND they've touched on viking themes on nearly ALL of their albums, including the first few before amon amarth's demo. it's music. if you like it, fine, if you dont, fine. who gives a flying ******** who ripped off who, or who didnt rip off who? it's more that i don't want anyone being led to believe that Unleashed are a rip-off of Amon Amarth because it just simply isn't true. ...but does it matter whether it's true or not? my point is who cares if they did or did not rip off amon amarth, it's music and the only thing that matters is whether you enjoy them or not. furthermore, what's with all this talk of "ripping off" other bands? if a band comes out with a sound you like, and your band develops a similar sound, that's not ripping off. that's a tribute. it's called being influenced. all bands are influenced by and pay homage to other bands. compare pink floyd's first album with the beatles early works. early pink floyd has a very early-beatles-ish sound to them, but it's not a ripoff, its just the manifestation of influence. same thing with stevie ray vaughn and jimi hendrix - there's a clear hendrix influence in SRV's work, but that doesnt mean he ripped hendrix off. early misfits didn't rip off the ramones but were paying homage to their greatness. i'm NOT meaning to suggest that unleashed was influenced by amon amarth, idk what they sound like and am not interested enough to find out. but what i am asking is how come, nowadays, if anyt two bands have even a slightly similar sound, one ripped the other off? it's called taking influence from one another. tl;dr - it doesnt ******** matter who ripped who off or if any ripping off took place, what matters is whether it's enjoyable.

IT DOESNT MATTER. IT'S NOT WORTH ARGUING ABOUT - JUST LISTEN TO THE ******** MUSIC IF YOU LIKE IT AND IF YOU DONT LIKE IT THEN DONT LISTEN TO IT. STOP ACTING LIKE 8 YEAR OLDS, ARGUING ABOUT WHO RIPPED OFF WHO.
