Ellie shivered, the hoodie hiding it remarkably well, before doing as Neve 'ordered', paws trembling still. She flushed as his paws stroked her own as he passed her the food he had used to build his sandwich, averting her eyes and quickly shoving the packages into the fridge. As soon as that was done and the fridge was shut, she was once again by Neve's side. She curled her tail around Neve as they moved back towards the couch, clambering up - with or without his help - before curling herself into a tight ball, wedged against his side before she finally released a soft, shuddering sigh.
"...a-a-are you sssure t-they w-w-wo-wo-won't come l-looking for you, L-Lee..?" She questioned, turning her bleak eyes up to him, ears held back. Would they have to move? Flee? Would they be attacked? Yes, she felt safe with him, but...she wasn't the only thing she had to think about. She didn't want to see Liam hurt anymore, and wouldn't stay if there was the slightest chance of them coming to look for him, because she was one of the stolen AIs. If she had to...well, she'd insist he pack up too, and they'd...run. She didn't know where, but she couldn't bear to be separated from him again.

Nev settled himself around Ellie. He paused and thought a moment before gently nuzzling her and sighing. "I don't know, Baby Doll. The circumstances under which I left are about as acceptable as the ones you left under. But I've been out almost a year and they haven't tried anything. And besides look at York and Delta, they ran too and it doesn't appear they've lived under constant attack, since they have children. I doubt they'd have them otherwise. Heck, even Agent Texas and Omega seem to be unmolested, and you and I both know how lethal that pair is." he shifted slightly and pulled her closer to him. "Don't worry, sweetheart. I will do everything in my power to protect you. I won't lose you again." he caressed her face and looked into her eyes. "I can't lose you again." he whispered.
He then took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "So don't fret. I have to make some phone calls in the morning but everything is under control. I would rather die than see you go back, Ellie...I mean it." he put his head against hers and gently rubbed his forehead against hers, his much lighter hair mixing with her dark tresses.
Nev couldn't remember a time when anything had ever felt so right. He'd tried dating after his escape to try and blend back into society, but it had never really worked out for him. They didn't understand what he'd been through, nor could they ever....and when he'd kissed them...well it just hadn't been even comparable to just being able to hold Ellie in his arms. He sighed mentally as it slowly dawned on him, he loved her, this tiny little female. Who cared if she wasn't supposed to be real, that he wasn't supposed to be able to touch her, he loved her anyway...unquestioningly and without reservation. I can't tell her that...not yet...not until she understands emotions better anyway... he let out a mental huff glad that for the moment she couldn't hear his thoughts. Oh, Liam...what have you done to yourself this time? said the cynical part of his brain. Shut up and go to hell... he told it before happily curling himself tightly around Ellie.

"B-B-But...Neve...our circumstances are d-d-differ-erent. Nnone of them st-st-ole their AI f-from st-stor-orage..." Whines, purely distressed, looking up with wide, frightened eyes at his words. "A-And th-they mmmust have f-figured ou-out th-which AIs w-were t-t-t-t-taken. W-Who d-d-do you th-think th-they'll c-c-c-co-ome looking for?!"
Even the comforting contact as he pulled her closer couldn't dim her panic, especially at his last words. "N-N-Ne-NO~!"
Quick and unthinking, she threw her arms around him, clinging for everything she was worth. "N-N-Ne-Neve, y-you c-ca-c-can't die! D-D-Donnn't s-say th-th-that! ....y-y-yo-you ca-can't le-leave m-m-me, L-Lee!"
Her sobs were quick and brutal, shaking every inch of her tiny frame, though there were no tears to accompany her cries. Her paws were clamped firmly around him - one on the back of his shirt, the other fiercely gripping his fur - and she wasn't about to let go. It was as though if she did...well, he would disappear.

Nev wrapped his arms tightly around Ellie. "Shhh....Trust me, I have no plans of dieing yet and as for them finding out..." he shrugged and sighed. "Ellie the odds are that they know where every 'missing' Freelancer went. There is no way to avoid that, its the government, for the Goddess's sake. No one can really hide from it forever." he raised her head enough to look into her eyes. "But I'm not going anywhere any time soon." he caressed her face gently. "Do you trust me, Baby Doll?"

Ellie whimpered and stuttered nonsense, head ducked low, voice cracking as she finally formed some coherent words. "B-B-Bu-ut... W-W-Wh-What wi-will we do ifff th-they c-c-come?"
She resisted slightly as Neve brought her head up, before looking bleakly at him, body trembling. Not only fear now. Not only worry. Her eyes flickered to his and away, then back to his once again as she choked out two words. "A-Al-Always, Lee."
Still, she didn't let go of her grip upon him. It was very likely she couldn't, at that point. Vaguely, she noted her paws aching, but paid no mind to it, clenching them tighter if that was at all possible, ears flicking back and forth sporadically, resting in a swept-back position when they weren't.

Nev held the tiny fem tightly to his body as she clung to him. He was almost afraid that if he tried to hold her any tighter he'd break her. She was so small...so delicate, so beautiful...he wanted to get lost in her green eyes, her silken tresses, her soft body...Nev then promptly smacked himself. Focus! he yelled at himself mentally. She needs you! Not your juvenile half crazed passion driven thoughts.
Nev sighed in a natural way to hide his own inner turmoil. "I have plans if that ever happens. Before I would have gone alone...but now...now you'll go with me." he said. "Where do you want to go?" he asked in all seriousness. "We'll go where ever you want to go, England, France, Brazil, Tahiti." he chuckled and caressed her face. "As long as I'm with you I don't care where we are." he slowly began to lean forward towards her, eyes partially closed. He was just about to kiss her when he let out a breath and turned away. "Anyway..." he said fidgeting a bit.

Ellie shivered and shuddered in his arms, still panicking at the thought of losing Neve. Again. She curled herself to him tighter, flicking her tail to wrap it around him as much as she could, given her position on the couch, nearly in front of him as she was.
"I...I don't kn-know, Lee... I-I think...sssomething like that-t should...be dec-cided...wh-wh...if we have to l-leave..." She murmured, ears flicking as Neve leaned in. She was curious, blinking at him and remaining still aside from her light tremours still. "A-A-Anyway..?"
She ducked her head, burying it against his fur with a soft squeak, a sigh escaping soon afterwards as she readjusted her position to a slightly more comfortable one, though her front paws never strayed from their grip upon him.
"W-what would you like to do, Lee..?"

Nev shrugged. "It hardly matters as I'm with you. I suppose I could turn on the TV though and we could watch a movie...something quiet." he said. "In fact that sounds like a good idea." he said. He reached over and grabbed up the remote flicking on the TV across the room and the DVD player. He couldn't exactly remember what was in it, but he figured it wouldn't be to horrible. He was a little embarrassed when it turned out to be How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days.
Nev coughed and looked away. "I rented this..." he said lamely trying to think of a way to recover from having a girl find out you watched girl movies. "Its a pretty good flick though...I think you'll like it, Ellie..." he said absently. "I...er...uh...nevermind..." he stammered before settling back down on the couch with Ellie in a more comfortable position to watch a movie in. He sighed and played with her hair as they watched.

Ellie nodded, just a little, listening to Neve's voice, turning her head so she could press an ear against his chest somewhat, listening to the steady beat of his heart. She giggled at his cough and shrugged, tail curling around him as he adjusted their position.
She peered at the TV from where she was, arms still wrapped around Neve's neck, holding her flush against him. Her ears flicked, and for a moment, she looked up in question. "What..?"
Her eyes soon half-closed as she felt his paws flick through her hair. With a sigh, she sank against him, eyes upon the screen, watching as the reporter found herself in love with the man she was writing about. She was warm in his sweater, and the feeling of him playing with her hair was marvelous indeed, causing soft, contented murmurs and sighs to pass between her lips as she nuzzled close against him.

Nev shook his head. "Nothing, Baby Doll." he said. He sighed happily as he felt Ellie calm and settle against him. He nuzzled her back and continued to play with her hair as she watched the movie. Nev tried to stay awake but soon found himself nodding off for short intervals. He glanced up at the clock on the wall and was a tad surprised to find it after 9 already. He wasn't much of a night owl and figured that was why he was trying to fall asleep...that of course coupled with the fact that he was usually asleep due to his medication.
"Ellie?" he asked quietly. "Are you awake?" he asked and then smacked himself for the stupid question. Of course she was...she really didn't need to sleep among so many other things. "Its not important really...Its just that...I'm a little tired." he said hoping that would be enough and not wanting to explain the reasons why. And then it struck him...Ellie would want to stay with him through the night...and while Nev wasn't opposed to the idea he didn't think it exactly wise.
She can stay in my room and rest or whatever it is she needs to do. It'll be enough like me I think she'll be alright...I'll stay out here and she can just come get me if she needs too. he thought.

Ellie's ears flicked as he murmured, somewhere along half-way through the movie. She shifted, turning her attention to him and raising her head. "Mmm..?"
She blinked as he mentioned his tiredness, and gave a little jolt. She hadn't realized, but probably should have. Shifting, the small female - with obvious reluctance - very slowly let go of his fur and clothing while smothering a whimper, looking at him quietly as she did so.
"Oh, Lee, you could have said something before..." Gently, she nuzzled against him, flicking her tail gently against his side. "Let's go, then, and you can get some sleep."
Ellie smiled very lightly, gently tugging at his paws to get him moving, tail slowly flicking from side to side.

Nev got up and followed her into his room. "Ellie...." he trailed off. He didn't want to hurt her...but sleeping with her in his head was one thing...sleeping with her physical body was quiet another. "Baby Doll..." he took a deep breath and tried to think of a way to put what he was about to say gently. "Sweetheart...you...you are a very beautiful girl...no please don't get flustered." he said in anticipation of her reaction. "But...I'm a guy...and well..." he let out a long breath. "I'm going to sleep on the couch, okay? Its only proper under the circumstances and the fact this is our first night together here in my apartment. You can rest or whatever you need to do in here in my room...I thought that you would be more comfortable in here as...well its my room as opposed to being on my couch...Please understand I'm not trying to push you away...I just...Its just the way I was raised." he said. "So I'm going to get a pillow and a blanket and go back and lay down...and if you need me you can come get me." he moved over to his beside table and gently tapped it putting it on its lowest setting. "There, now you'll have some light and you won't be in the dark." he said.
He gathered up his blanket and pillow and looked at her. "Please understand...Its not you...Its me." he said hoping she would understand.

Ellie choked upon the words, and Neve continued on shortly after she tried to speak each time, preventing her from stuttering more. She looked up at him, eyes wide, expression pleading. As he moved forwards to turn on the lamp, she skittered with him, attempting to get out some words, but whining as they wound up as gibberish.
"L-L-Lee..." She whimpered, ears swept back. "I-I-I-I'll be g-go-good! D-D-Donnn't le-leave me!"
She had a weak argument, in Neve's eyes...but a very strong one in her own. It didn't matter that this was his room, and his scent was all around...he wasn't. His touch, so new and reassuring, wouldn't be there, nor would his body heat. It didn't matter that the lamp was on. The shadows created by it were reminders.
"P-P-Ple-ease..!" She pleaded, trying valiantly to not give into the urge to cling to him, yet ultimately failing. She clutched at his sleeves, despite the fact that her constant, quick movements dislodged the sleeves and sent them tumbling over her paws. Her eyes shimmered, not with tears, but the binary digits that were there.

Nev felt horrible, but he couldn't give into her. "Ellie, please. I know...I know, Baby Doll...I know you would good...but that's not the problem...the problem is I don't know if I could be...Please understand...I'm begging you to understand...I just...I don't trust myself alright, not right now. And I won't be far...just in the next room. Ellie, please....please, sweetheart. I...care about you so much I don't want to hurt you...please believe me." He begged her looking into her eyes that wanted so much to be able to cry. She may not be able too, but he was and he felt them coming on. "Just tonight...alright...just for tonight." he said. "I promise...I won't leave you again...I just need to get my head on straight tonight...so please...just tonight, okay?" he asked, pleading with her. "Please understand...I'm begging you, Ellie...Please..." he took a deep breath and caressed her face. He didn't trust himself to hold her, if he did his resolve would crumble and he'd never be able to leave her...and as much as it was killing him to do so, he knew that this was something he had to do.

Ellie whimpered and refused to let go, clinging to him in a similar manner as she had earlier. She didn't want to let go, but she understood what Neve was saying, even though she felt a fresh wave of panic. Even one night was unbearable in her mind, but he was so distressed that she nodded, absolutely helpless.
"L-L-Lee..." She murmured, rubbing her face against his sleeve for a moment as she seriously considered begging one last time, but the gentle caresses to her face and his pleas changed her mind. "O-Ok-k-k-kay..."
With a whimper, she finally let go and sat there, letting him go while swallowing the lump that managed to lodge itself in her throat.
"G-G-Go on, Lee..." She murmured, looking up at him. Her eyes still pleaded for him to stay, but she was also pleading with him to go before she changed her mind and clung to him again, which she was so close, if he touched her even lightly, she'd be gone. When he turned to walk away, she bit her bottom lip and firmly smothered the protesting whimper before it could escape. Still, she sat there the longest time, trembling beneath the sweater. She didn't know how long she sat there, eyes fixated on the couch, but she finally turned back to the room, allowing herself a short, soft whimper. Eyes flicking around, she stepped over to his closet, picking up a couple of pieces of clothing from the floor that smelled the most like him and jumped up on the bed to proceed to make herself a 'nest' to surround herself with pieces of him.
