Naeva's grip on the ash blown tree tightened as the voice swept through her mind as if someone had gentle whispered in her ear. She peered out among the others, all gathered, all speaking among themselves like old friends, like they had never been apart. And here she was, hiding behind barren trees, the smoke and ash decorating the trunks black and grey, as the burnt leaves crunched under foot.
"What am I doing?" she questioned as she thought back over her unsteady journey to get here. Her meditation had been broken with images of a red door, an unwanted yearning to see this place had settled deep in the pit of her stomach as she had sneaked out of the Ember's home. The need to be here was uneasy, she hated this place. Was almost glad when it had been destroyed, yet as she looked upon the rubble her heart went out to it. It had once been her home, no matter how much she saw it as the dumping ground for unwanted babies.
...not that she cared, she was more than that now.
Pushing her body away from the scarred tree she started to walk towards the others, her fingers twisting in her hair as her anxiety over shadowed her need to remain calm and collected in these rare 'group' moments. She looked over her shoulder as she saw more people approaching. Had all of them been called? She queried how many legends may walk this earth but her mind was distracted by the opening of the red door. Its light catching her eyes like some enticing present waiting to be opened further.
"I need to know...." Naeva mumbled as the others faded out of context, there chattering becoming distant as she became entranced by this wooden gateway.

[for naeva]The setting was completely different than where she had come from. Everything looked like an old English town, cobblestones everywhere, and everything looked rundown and somewhat abandoned.
To the left and right stood two buildings and behind her a wall made out of piled rocks and covered with growing vines. On the wall behind her was a small bulletin board, there were a few notices posted on the board: Town Meeting this Monday, please come to discuss the underground graveyard situation, Library Book Club every weekend! Come read and talk about your favorite books! juice and cookies complimentary. Also, on the bulletin board is a map of the town.

He couldn't explain it, but, surprisingly, it doesn't bother him that he can't. He just needed to be there again.
Ink stuffs his hands into his jacket pockets, the poor thing worn threadbare in places but too beloved - and useful - to be discarded. It's still warm enough against the autumn breeze to keep the fair haired boy from catching a chill, but, come winter, it'll not do him any good at all. His wooden pendant hits his chest with every hasty step he takes down the path.
The soothing motion of Ink's walking has soothed Suds into a deep slumber, and Ink is all too grateful for the peace it brings him. The hand he now stuffs into his right pocket strokes the sleeping form of his other half in a show of affection he'd never dare let anyone witness. She coils around his hand with a drowsy, sleeping smile, though he pulls his fingers away immediately in disgust.
He stops on the path at the sight of so many people. Interesting, and yet, very annoying. He isn't at all surprised by the condition of the headquarters; nay, he'd been one of the first to know of its destruction. It's the sudden collective interest of all these children that he's really curious about.
Some sort of ritual sacrifice is to take place, he muses morbidly with a slight smirk of bemusement, or maybe someone's tryin'a start up a cult.
Habitually tossing his head a little to push the hair away from his eyes, he squints up at the faces, recognizing a few.

Kitsu noticed him. She hadn't noticed any of the others, to be honest, but she would always notice Ink, merely because the hair on the back of her neck always stood whenever he was near. She hated that blonde boy SO much!
He had made it look like she killed him!
She pranced in anxiousness, then started for the door, intent on going through before he could. The last thing she wanted was to be near him for any longer than she had to be!

Late to the party, as usual, Karan hung back from the rest of the crowd. He still wasn't sure why he'd even wanted to come out to see a bunch of rubble. Maybe it was nostalgia, longing for what had once been. Whatever the reason, he could see that he wasn't alone. And that made him suspicious. Why were they all just standing there? It was too much to be a coincidence, so he waited to see what would happen.
Of course, there wasn't a whole lot he could see from a distance, so he slowly crept closer. There were faces he recognized, and faces he didn't, but he didn't greet anyone. In Karan's opinion, knowing what was going on came first, socializing second. It gave him a bit of a lonely feeling, which he tried to rationalize away, with mild success. His curiosity managed to keep him focused, but only just.

Amidst the chaos of her reunion with Guinny, it seemed as if more of the children she remembered from her childhood were gathering, along with some she had never seen before. The thrill was soon replaced by a chill of intrigue as she heard it.
A call, a call to knowledge.
Not the usual, familiar call of Takoda, no...this was different. The door had opened now, emitting a light in the small gap. To Prana's surprise, she saw a young girl she didn't recognize slip through and not appear on the other side of the scarred opening! Chewing her lip thoughtfully, Prana battled between cautiousness and curiosity. Curiosity finally won, and she steeled her resolve, slowly peeking her head through the opening...

<******** me, that girl's gorgeous.
Ink chuckles softly to himself and looks Prana up and down less than subtly. He starts to walk forward, ignoring the boy hanging back, set forward like a horse with blinders. It's only when his Beastie friend starts a-clompin' that he slows to a stop again.
Seriously? This has to be his lucky day.. minus all the testosterone. He'd just have to lose them somehow and take all the pretty ladies for himself..! Yes, this seems to be a brilliant plan to his twisted mind.
"The ******** everyone so brassed abouta damn ******** door for?" he asks so very casually, stepping up what probably used to be the front steps and maneuvering easily around all the [usually taller] Legends. "Yer all pissin' and moanin' about the damned place being gone, or sommat?"

Loki was fashionably and wondrously late, as per usual; he walked languidly up to the door, stepping around Ink with ease as he gave a small smile. He may have been late, but he was sure there was more to come after him, so it wouldn't really be a big deal, right? Besides that, he'd been tied up with Lue, with some useless argument which they begrudgingly agreed, only to find out that Lue had been right after all. Not that Loki would admit it, but they both knew. Heh.
"Seems like... although I thought one like you would be a bit more observant than that. Tch, a shame." He chuckled, pushing the door wide open as his wings flared out, the teen stopping at the doorway and crouching to scrape up a bit of the ashes and bring them close to his face, rubbing it between his fingers before he tasted it. "I wonder... if this is a work of certain spirits. Lue, any ideas?" He reached up and opened the lantern, a small flaming spider hopping out and rolling across his wings and back, nestling in his scarf for a moment until he hopped on the ground and stretched, sniffing here and there.
It was almost rather comically cute.
Lue glanced up at Loki with wide eyes, giving a spiderlike shrug as he jumped onto the scarf and climbed up, burying himself in it around Loki's neck as he peered over the scarf at Ink, staring endlessly. Lue had a bad feeling about this guy.
"Well... I guess we're about to find out." Loki walked in now, his fingers gripping around his staff hard enough to make his knuckles white. He didn't like walking into things that were unknown, but some situations called for it.

Demare's eyes began to wander a bit as he noticed the door seem to move. He noticed Prana's white hat before she seemed to disappear, unable to see the girl on the other side of the door.
What the hell? he thought to himself, furrowing his brow a little bit. That was unusual... He then watched as Loki approached the door, and also stepped through, not appearing on the other side. That's messed up.
Stepping away from Mayu's side for a moment, the halfling began to move toward the door, wondering what was going on. His wings drew in close to his back as he reached up a hand to touch the door knob, but stopped as though something were preventing him to continue.
"Hmm... I'm not sure I like this..." he said more to himself than to anyone, taking a step back. Maybe it was just his eyes playing tricks on him.

Ink wrinkles his nose at Loki's snide response, not exactly expecting someone to give him a taste of his own medicine. Before he's able to find a witty counter of his own, the taller boy has stepped through the door and.. not come out the other side.
Slightly gape-mouthed, Ink hangs off the frame of the door and swings his body around to the other side, refusing to believe Loki had just disappeared.
"Whoa, the git went and did'mself in, he went and ********, you all saw it happen!" he exclaims unnecessarily, grinning in fascination. He swings back around and regains his footing amidst the others, who largely overbear him in size. "So, who's the ******** eedjit who'll go through next, eh?"

His right black eye twitched slightly at the boy's antics, his hand clenching into a fist for a brief moment. Demare's wings shifted upward a little bit as something occurred to him; he was much bigger than him. In fact, he was at least a good foot taller, and he was fairly certain that he was much stronger than the kid.
The halfling's lips curved into a bit of a smirk. Oh, this was just too perfect.
Lifting his left hand up, he promptly placed it on the blond child's head, and proceeded to forcefully shove the boy right through the door, head first. No, of course he wasn't being MEAN. He was merely... testing the disappearing acts.
"Oops..." Demare shrugged, looking innocently away, "my bad."

[for loki]The setting was completely different than where he had come from. Everything looked like an old English town, cobblestones everywhere, and everything looked rundown and somewhat abandoned.
After the blinding light subsided it looked like he had stepped out from a tree. Because that is what stood directly behind him. The tree was a large willow tree, it was large and sad looking. When looking close the tree seemed to have a sad little face on it, made from patterns and knots in the trunk. Tacked onto the weeping tree was a few signs, one pointing to the south that said Salman's Alley, one pointing to west that said in a rather beautiful script, Barnebie's Frills. Right to the west of the sign was the actual store, a rather superfluous store with elaborate decorations inside the windows. It was hard to see all the decorations because the shutters on the windows were closed. The shop looked like it hadn't been opened in a long while. To the south there was another shop, but there was no sign and the building look long abandoned, far longer than Barnebie's Frills. On the ground there are some folded flyers; One Day Only! 50% off all Pies and Cakes. Inside one of them you find a small map of the town peeking out.

[for ink and prana]The setting was completely different than where they had come from. Everything looked like an old English town, cobblestones everywhere, and everything looked rundown and somewhat abandoned.
The place from which they came from had turned into a solid stone cobbled wall. The wall stretched up for at least 2 stories, and there couldn't be anything seen beyond it from their vantage point. The other side of them is also blocked by a wall, but a decidedly shorter one, one they could reach the top off. The narrow corridor seemed to lead somewhere up ahead. There were some small holes that ran along the wall in random places. It didn't seem like there was any patten to them and you couldn't see out the other side of them. In one of the small holes there is something stuck in it. They pull it out to see what it is.

Having gone into a bit of a daze for a moment, Mayu came back to reality to realize that Demare was no longer standing next to her. Looking around, she spotted him just in time to see the tall teen shove another child through the door. What the heck??
She moved quickly toward where he was standing, intent on finding out exactly what was going on. Demare never usually acted like that, at least... not as far as she could remember. Mayu opened her mouth to confront him as she slipped past another child, but let out a little "eep" instead as the strap on her left sandal snapped and caused her to fall forward. Her pink eyes watched the edge of the door frame disappear, and she could barely hear her friend call out her name as everything seemed to turn white.
She'd fallen right through the door, and couldn't even feel herself land on the ground.

[for mayu and kitsu]The setting was completely different than where they had come from. Everything looked like an old town, cobblestones everywhere, and everything looked rundown and somewhat abandoned.
The place where the two now stood looked like something from New Orleans. (can i say that? do legends know anything about the real world?) There are buildings with laced-ironwork balconies and flowers and plants on all the windows. Even though the place seemed like it was haunted it was still beautiful, and the flowers have managed to survive despite there not being any visible people around. Directly to the west of them is what seemed like some kind of sweet shop, though the name was hard to make out and the shop looked like it was closed indefinitely. To the south of them was a Restaurant named La Gilla there is an alligator on the sign to the restaurant. Behind them to the north they can see a tall wall and some buildings in a tree behind that. To the east there were some windows to another building, but they are too dusty to see inside, the entrance must be around the other way. On one of the windows there are some fliers tacked up, one looks like it could be the map of the town.
