She heard his song stop and felt his movements ceased, she knew the moment was over though she wanted to dance there with him all night. She felt him pull away, but she stood there still, her eyes still shut for just a moment longer. His scent lingered in her nose, his tune still playing through her mind. She smiled, not even thinking that he was probably looking at her as she stood there as a filly in awe would.
Her eyes fluttered open as he was bowing to her. She stuck one hoove forward, lowering her head and shoulders in a return curtsy. Straigtening herself, she could feel the breeze pick up, again wisping through his mane and tail causing the strands to dance as gracefully as the two had just finished. Never had she seen such a sight as he was standing there against the starlit sky and slowly ripping dark waters of the lake.
This couldn't be it, this couldnt' be the only time she would see them. He broke her thoughts as he spoke again, "Moon Lady", she heard...."My moon lady" she repeated in her mind. Was that a message she wondered?
Her parents had preached many values to her as she grew, one of which was to act appropriately and always be a lady. Would it be unlady like if she offered a friendly peck to the cheek, a thankful gesture for this stallion's kindness to her she wondered? Would he get the wrong idea, or worse, would he be offended?

Tiredness gently started to set into each of his muscles and joints as continued to smile happily towards the pretty mare. He allowed his eyes to imprint her every detail into his memory, her hair and the way it flowed like water as it was caught and carried by the win, the patterns that caressed her body gently, and finally her eyes, small jewelled pools of endless beauty. He felt as if he could lose himself forever within her eyes, they twinkled in his soul as brightly as the stars above them. She was a curious creature indeed.
Although it pained him to consider leaving he had to, his duties awaited him and he longed to rest his head for an hour before the sun rose over the world once more. Yet he was determined that this would not be their last encounter if he could help it. She had left him with a great sense of longing and it pressed heavy on him. Smiling he bowed his head low once more, although she could not say anything to him it did not make this any easier.
Raising his head back up once more he leaned in towards her apprehensively and licked her cheek softly before pulling away and turning slightly to prevent himself from allowing his heart to convincing him to stay by her side for the rest of the night. His mind needed to stand strong. He looked up at the stars above him, his eyes catching sight of the Moon; it glowed softly caressing him gently in its magnificent light. She was his Moon. He spoke softly, his eyes still connected with the Moon in the sky above, "I will see you again," he turned his eyes softly to look at her before saying one final word. "Moon."
Spreading his great wings out he allowed them to flap feebly up and down so that they where well stretched and prepared for his flight back to the mountains that’s overlooked the Oceans waves. His mind wandered to images he was unsure could ever come true, yet he was confused, was it possible to have such feelings from one dance alone? He had never known what true love was. All he knew was the love he continued to hold in heart for his Mother, may she rest forever in the glory of the World. This would not be the last time. He was sure of that.

She noted how Maions body seemed to wilt just a bit, he seemed exhausted. Sengdroma hadn't been sleeping long, but at least she had napped a bit before this encounter. It wouldn't be but a few hours time before the sun rose to start the new day, she knew her new friend probably needed sleep.
She closed her eyes as he gently licked her cheek, a small fragile smile crossed her face. The end of the night had come too quickly for her. She opened her eyes, turning to body to face Maion. She took the few steps that seperated them and gently rubbed her face down the length of his neck before softly touching her nose to his own. Her blue eyes blinked then flashed up to meet with the strangers. She thought to herself, that even if this was to be their only encounter, she would be thankful. Silly of her, but her heart had fluttered for a complete stranger. Her parents would be upset with her if they had known of her behavior.
As he said his goodbye, Sengdroma lowered her head for a moment, capturing every word that escaped Maions mouth. "Moon" he had said, he had given her a new name. She lifted her head slowly to look at him as he prepared for flight. She was torn, she should at least offer her name...how would he find her again? She never talked to anyone though....but this stallion....she had to!
...too late, he was gone.
