Chath slipped on the muddy bank but he didn't let that slow him down he had quickly turned around and pointed a hand at Keir, as if trying to scold him. But really he was trying to cast his water spell at the dragon in hopes to distract and snap him out of the bendo n destruction phase he was in.
But nothing was happening, you could see the panic in the teens face as he came to realize his magic feeble as it was, was not responding to him.
Keir had reared his head back as he wasn't sure what Chath was doing, but seeing that the boy had failed in whatever it was he darted his head back down to snap at the kids good arm.
Chath managed to yank it out of harms reach but wuith only milimeters to spare. Never had Chath wanted someone to intercede before....never had he wanted so badly for someone to stop Keir. He usually tried to be fair with his dragon,give him the benifit of the doubt....tried to trust him....but it was really ******** hard to do when it seemed like it was bent on trying to kill you.
"PERI!!"He shouted as he knew he was running out of options.

As soon as the black was snapping at the kid, Peri fired the gun. She was quickly reloading, stuffing another dart in, hoping that it wouldn't take many to calm the dragon down. She fired again, aiming for a fold in the skin. Hopefully, her aim wasn't bad.

The dart hit the thin part of his hide just above his leg. It felt like a small pinch, but it was enough to capture the black dragon's attention. Snapping his head around on his long sineueing neck his gaze locked onto Peri.
Chath fell against the muddy bank in a rush of dizziness. He has screamed for Peri to intervene. He couldn't even handle his own dragon the thought made him feel sick inside, but as he looked up...noticing that Keir was now locked onto a new target.
DAMMIT.
"KEIR NO!" He shouted as he scrambled back up onto his feet, his dragon already diving into the waters although a bit more clumsy than before. The drug was taking effect, but it seemed the black didn't care.
"PERI GET OUT OF THE WAY!" HE shouted again as he dived into the pond as well, using his tail to propell himself forward to try and catch up with Keir.

Peri swore as the dragon locked in on her. Crap. She fumbled with the gun, loading another dart and firing. Unfortunately, the dragon had already dove into the water. Time to run! Hopefully the effort that Keir was putting forward would make the drug circulate faster.... and she was SO asking the techs to make the tranq darts more concentrated after this!

Chath caught onto Keir's tail and yanked though the black was already slowing enough that it took all his effort to drag himself from the pond and onto the shore. He then heavily laid down as if he was too weak suddenly. Chath...drenched his breath caught in his chest was coughing and hacking out swamp water as he dredged himself out of the pond and leaned against Keir who only rumbeled in annoyance. Chath shot his black a dark look before moving towards Peri.
"S...sorry about that...I ...usually forget how ...he tends to lose control when he...is uh..'in the moment'.." He apologized between breaths as he came to stand before the man/woman.

Peri sighed as the black came to a stop and the drug seemed to be taking effect. Well, she wasn't going to do THAT again. And hopefully the Boss wouldn't kill her for this. After all, the boy wasn't hurt... much... and the black had managed to learn... something...
s**t, this was not good at all.
The woman tried to manage a smile at the boy. "I suppose it's just part of his nature. I'll try to think of something else for him in the future... and get these darts made stronger." She looked Chath over. "You okay?" The first aid kit had fallen when she'd had to use the tranq gun, but it had survived the fall and was sitting near where Peri had been previously standing. The teacher went and picked it up, eyeing the boy.
