Well, this certainly was a nice surprise for Persy. Instead of having to give the pep talk, this time the kid just did it for himself. With a half-smirk, she stood, shaking her head.
"There's nothing in the rules that says you can't start a storm of your own. Just give it a few months. I have something planned, and I don't want it disrupted. Or rather, Des has something planned, and he doesn't know it yet."

"You know," said Fish, "I was going to ask if this blackout has anything to do with the Game or if it's just a mechanical malfunction somewhere, but I think you've successfully distracted me and I don't really care anymore."
He shrugged. "If this is the Big Thing, I guess I'll just have to go and take care of it."

"It has nothing to do with the gods--just mortals being idiotic as usual. There were a couple of kids that came by and asked already, so it's public knowledge." Persy moved back to her position behind the counter and pulled out the book she'd been reading before, this time flipping to a page with women standing in dresses of equally garish hues.
"Well, whatever you do, the offer still stands," she added, then went back to her reading, entirely immersed.
