"I did not mean to be .... disrespectful, to either her or her clan. If the problem has grown then it was fault of those who came before her and perhaps a bit of fault upon everyone for letting the roots take hold." Given that there were not too many generation gaps between when she'd been born and when the current queens had been born it could have started with the royal clan joining another. "Perhaps it is a twist of fate ...." The non royal blood and non royal teaching could have easily planted a seed of pollution in the clan's ranks.

She shook her head slightly to try to clear her thoughts a bit. She had to get back into the habit of watching her words around others. She couldn't be as frank with Tejasvi as she could be with Kamaria. "Roots can be dug up at least and the infection stopped."

"I understand, Kichaa," she said with a shake of her head, and she did understand, all too well. This problem was stressful and she knew from talk from the older members what to expect from Kichaa's tongue - bluntness and a cutting edge straight to what she perceived to be the problem. There would be no changing that.

"A twist of fate? If so, it is a wicked one. Perhaps it is a punishment for inviting blood not of the royal line into the royal clan. Though we are taught that such things are guided by fate, and thus, one would think the goddess would put souls in that clan meant to belong to that of the royal one?" Her brows knit as she tried to unravel the knots of the complicated web before her and finally she simply shook her head. "Who is to know?"

She nodded, though, at the last words and brought her green gaze to stare into Kichaa's firmly. "Have no doubt that we will find these roots. We will dig them out and make sure they have no ground to set themselves in again."

"Fate is often wicked like that. It could be punishments for things that we no longer remember happening." She shook her head again as she lifted herself back up to her feet. She had been looking for something, though she couldn't remember at all what now, and she should probably not keep the queen from whatever duties she had.

"I have no doubt that you will Tejasvi." She looked back at the other lioness evenly. "I will support you and the council in whatever you decide to do .... and if you would like an open ear and a unguarded tongue you know how to find me."

"Wicked it is," she muttered thickly beneath her breath, squinting her eyes as she stared up at the canopy of trees stretched over their heads. If the pride was being punished now for things that had happened long ago, fate was more wicked than ever she had imagined before.

"I am glad to have your support. We will only do what we think is best for the pride, though I always fear some may not think we have their best interests at heart." She too pushed herself to her feet, the laughter of her cubs growing quieter and more subdued, and her mind drawing her ever in that direction. The twins could use a lesson today. "If I have need of that blunt tongue of yours to distract me from by burdens again, I will come looking for you." She dipped her head, a smile lingering on her maw even as she did so. "Thank you, Kichaa, and good day."
