Tal seemed to pause in his tracks, he had thought the messenger would be off today. He wondered just how much of a difference two days would make, probably little, yet he still felt a certain sense of urgency. For teh price he had paid he could ask the boy to head off today, yet his mother had arranged for the messengers return trip. If she learned that Tal had made him return sooner, she'd wonder why. Certainly nothing in his letter warranted such haste, so sending him back sooner would needlessly rouse her suspicion.
Coming out of his thoughts Tal nodded at Divintra. "Yes two days, fine..." Perhaps in that time something else would come to his mind, at least give him a chance to reconsider his plan. It had been put together in haste, it would be all too easy for him to have overlooked an obvious flaw or alternative.
When Divintra asked about the second letter, Tal was starring at where the messenger had stowed the letters, shaking his head slightly as he answered. "No, no... Like I said the second is for that woman in Menzoberanzzan, Etheala Eilsvirr. My mothers estates are in a town between here and Menzoberanzzan, you're arranged trip back should bring you through that way."
Thinking things over for a moment Tal held his hand out to the messenger. "Actually since you don't leave for two days I'd like the second letter back, for safe keeping. You can come collect it before you leave." Tal didn't like the idea of the boy wandering about the city with such a potentially deadly piece of magic in his pocket, it could create a mess if it fell into the wrong hands. And Tal was already thinking of a few extra details he could add to ensure his success and reduce the chance he'd be caught.

He seemed to be thinking something over. Divintra assumed he was reconsidering his hasty plans. With two days rather then two minutes to plan, he might come up with something better. Not that Divintra really needed to be concerned with Taliesin's plans. They had nothing to do with him after all!
When he caught Taliesin looking to where he had tucked the letters, he assumed it was due to wondering about the safety of their contents. The request for the second letters return only validated Divintra's thoughts. "Of course Sir. I can do that. The caravan leaves early morning though, will you be cross if I have to knock loudly in the case you are not awake?" Rouseing sleepy magic users could be dangerouse after all! Divintra pulled the second letter from his tucked away spot, and handed it back over to Taliesin.
"I do not think there will be any problems with either delivery. Is there anything else then Sir? I'm rather eager to look about the city before turning in for the night. One of the guards said it was best to be someplace safe before the late hour approched."

Tal shook his head as he placed the trapped letter into a drawer of his writing desk. "Don't worry about that, I'll not let you leave the city without that letter. And just so we're clear, if you try to leave the city with the gem but not the letter, or bungle this in anyway and I'll see to it you're life is measured in weeks, if not days." Taliesin flashed the boy a cold smile, for some reason he always though smiling at someone when threatening them, was more effective than scowling or bearing your teeth.
"Anyway I'll not keep you any longer, I'm sure you'd like to see the city. Oh and pay no head to the guards warning, this city never sleeps... Never lower your guard, it'd be a nuisance if I had to find another messenger because you turned up dead in a gutter." With that Taliesin started ushering the young messenger towards teh stairs down to teh shop below.

He supposed he could counter Taliesin's warning. Tell him that there would be no need for worry about him leaving the city without the letter. Divintra prided himself on being trustworthy in the fact that he did what he was hired to do to the best of his abilities, and he always judged the job to see if he could carry it out before accepting. He had turned down a few jobs in the past simply because he had felt he would not be able to complete them well enough. Though he figured that such boastfulness or rebuke would probably irk Taliesin rather then reassure him. Most drow did not like being told to their face that their threats were really un-neccessary.
However, Divintra himself was irked by the concern that Taliesin would assume his threat held any weight in the matter of him performing his job. Divintra had very few things to be proud of. Being from the Braeryn and all. He disliked having some of that pride diminished in any way. So rather then respond to either threat or smile, Divintra tactfully ignored it by looking down to his shirt and assuring himself that the tied were not so loose as the second letter could slip free.
When talk turned back to his desire to sight see in the city, Divintra lifted his purple gaze back to taliesin easily. "I'll be wary Sir. I suspect the city is not much different then Menzoberazzan when concerning it's citizens. I suspect I will have no problem avoiding harm though. I am quite good on recognizing it." Such a boast was hardly that! With that exciting glimpse he had gained with Taliesin earlier, Divintra had high spirits that his spirtual powers were growing and he was eager to see if he could focus it on others besides those dealing with him.
The ushering was hardly neccessary, as Divintra's feet were light and quick on the way down. His interest in viewing the city was filling him to near bursting with curiousity, but not nearly as much as his desire to practice his Sight. Without any further delays, the moment he hit the bottom step, the young messenger would cross quickly to the shop door and wait for Taliesin to unlock it so he could scamper out on his own.

Taliesin was too busy to notice the boys excitement, not that he would have cared anyway, he was far to wrapped up in his own thoughts, plotting out the finer details of his plan to ruin his mothers latest plot. Once they reached the door from teh workshop to teh shop front, Tal stopped and waved his hand, on command the faerie lights grew brighter and a click came form the doorway. "Alright then be on your way and make sure you return here the morning you're due to leave. I've paid you generously enough that I hope you'll head all my instructions. Avoid my mother, give her the first letter and make no mention of the second. and once you deliver teh second message get as far from that house as possible."
Tal was soon drifting back into his own thoughts and plots. He realised that to guarantee his own anonymity from teh act he'd need to ensure that messengers safety in some way so he couldn't be used to trace the letter back to Taliesin. Unfortunately the spells he had in mind were beyond his own abilities, if he was to carry out his plan he'd need the help of another mage.
Once Divintra was out the door and with a slight smile on his lips, Tal locked up again and turned back to head up to the library. Tal had just teh mage in mind, it was about time he tested to see how strong his new alliance was.
