At the compliment about how he looked Micajah's cheeks turned slightly pink and a shy smile crossed over his lips as he turned his gaze down. Even though the compliment seemed kind of awkward it made him feel proud of himself none the less, considering how hard he'd worked on the blasted dress, and he murmured a thanks before he thought of returning a compliment.
"Oh, you were there Sasha! I didn't recognize you at all in your outfit and we didn't get a chance to talk. I wonder why I thought I hadn't seen you..."
He laughed a little, uneasy, at how easily he'd dismissed the presence of another student.
"You looked good too Nash, I had no idea who you were. I've never seen a costume like that before. did you both make your own outfits or did you purchase them?"

"Thanks..." Sasha replied sheepishly, pushing a piece of fuzz around the the tabletop. "It was kinda fun to be mean and scary for a day..." It had been uncomfortable at first, not sure how anyone else would take it. Would they think it was good or just hysterical and embarrassing. Well it was probably a mixture of both, but he'd like to think his costume had been awesome. And his opinion was the only one that really mattered, so there.
"Ehh... I actually got it made by the uhmm.... mall girls... I think--Nash didn't you get yours done there too? They were a little too touchy-feely for my taste..." Especially in the groin region. They just HAD to keep measure where his crotch started relative to his legs. Riiiight.

Nash blushed at the mention of the mall girl's attacking him. He had been set on getting his own materials and doing the tailoring all on his own after reading a book on costuming and sewing but as soon as he dropped his manga and one of the girls picked it up they demanded to help with his design. He wondered how they even knew he was going to be that character. "Yeah they were a bit... extreme." He ventured to say looking off to the side. "I'm surprised I even got recognized for the contest, it wasn't my goal but I'm happy." He beamed slightly his cheeks brightening.
"Though I wonder if there will be a Christmas party this year. Last years sorta flew by so quickly." He wondered curiously. "Think it will be an open house event again?" Eventually his attention slipped back to his work and the notes he had jot down. Nibbling on the eraser of his pencil he glared at something but returned his attention to the small group after while.

Mall girls? Micajah had the fortunate pleasure of not having met them just yet, though it was probably because of his stick-to-himself type of attitude, though it did him well to know there were more women on the island.
When the topic shifted towards Christmas he also had to add in his two cents, as natural for any discussion.
"I'm not sure if it'll be open again like last year, since this year we've had some major changes. Lots of people have come and gone and ShinKami may not feel like it's ready yet to reopen its doors. At least, that's my take on it."
The youth really was just stating his opinion, as who knew what would be happening later on that year? For all he knew ShinKami might somehow move inland, or there might be in influx of non-humans who came to show them all the proper way to live and do things.
Or perhaps something bad would happen.

Sasha simply nodded mindlessly as his friends talked, not having much to add of importance to the conversation. And he was still so caught up in the fiasco of his lost (or stolen!!) books.
"I really need to find them...." He mumbled to no one in particular, not even aware he'd spoken out loud until the others looked at him. His slack expression and vacant eyes blinked and he looked up to Nash and Micajah. "Oh uhh... I need to find my books. You know... when I find them, I'll let you guys copy my uhmm notes if you want. I jes... gotta like go find them..." Which meant walking into the lion's mouth (or the lecher's mouth). Merrrr...

Nash tapped his pencil against his notebook leisurely listening to Micajah. It made since there'd be less hub-bub this year. He figured as much but was just hoping there'd be something to keep his mind off serious topics. With a shrug he leaned back glancing at Sasha a moment as he blurted out. "Well if it's not here then you should hurry to find it... maybe at the lost and found." It was worth a shot but judging by Sasah's actions all this time it appeared he had an idea of where the book was and didn't like it.
Looking over his shoulder at the clock he frowned. Not much time left and here he had spent his time chatting. Ah well, he could jot down a few more quick notes and go over them in more detail later. If it was one thing he didn't mind studying so much on his own time. Shifting about he quickly gathered his things shoving them in his bag and slinging it over his shoulder as he stood. "I'm gonna head out now. I really need to study this stuff some more but I'll take you up on that offer when you find your books Sasha." He smiled giving a light bow of his head before heading for the door. "Don't forget!" He chimed as a reminder, waving to them both, before rushing out the door just as the clock chimmed the hour.

Man, had he come into class that late after all? the other students Micajah had been talking with were eagerly departing, one to look for his books and the other to go study for something, and Micajah was left sitting in his chair and looking rather...dumbstruck. Which, for someone like him, was a first of what was probably going to be occurring many more times while he was still at this school.
"Ah. Well-"
He started to say something after Nash but couldn't get much out as the boy left the room, shouting back to Sasha about something in regards to how the Russian had offered to share his notes, and it was then that Micajah remembered a promise the two had shared about getting together for some Spanish lessons. Perhaps he'd try and find Nash and see if the boy himself remembered, but for now he turned his attentions towards Sasha and tried to smile a bit more. It was awkward.
"Thanks for the offer about your notes, but are you going to be okay? You seem really kind of...frazzled about your books and getting them back, so I..."
He stopped and bit his lower lip, daring himself to go no further. He wasn't here to solve other people's problems - to become their friends. This was only a chance at observation - nothing more. He rose to his own feet and gathered his items back into his arms, taking care this time to distribute the weight more evenly, and he glanced over one last time at the Russian before he made his way to the door.
"I hope you manage to get what you need back. If you need anything though don't hesitate to call, it was nice seeing you again."
And with that, he stepped out into the hall and made plans to do this class correctly - on his computer.
THE END
