"Like you say, I'm sure we can find something for them to sink their teeth into..." He replied, considering what he could teach the kids, other than hunting skills. After planting another gentle kiss, this time on Duchess' lips, he took her hand and started walking again. "I think there's one somewhere in the First District..."

-Giggling a little more, eyelashes fluttering with the kiss,she happily tightened her grip of his hand, giving it an affectionate squeeze as they walked.
She really didn't remember a whole lot about Traverse town. With exception to that one special night, she hadn't really been here that often, but Gaston seemed to know the way and that was good enough for her. Ivory tail brushing affectionately against Gaston's back, she let herself fall into a soft hum that could barely be heard over her breath. The song she'd written for him so long ago.-

As they walked, Gaston began to notice some very strange, but small, changes in the town. It suddenly felt colder, and the sky became more cloudy and blacker than it was before. The street lamps flickered and dimmed, as did the many lights inside the shops and houses. "Weird..." He muttered, dismissing the funny shift in weather and the possibily of a power cut.
After passing through the door that lead to the First District, the jewellery shop came in sight just ahead. As they walked over, Gaston was scanning the items on display in the window. Much to his dismay, everything looked expensive. 'No worries...' He thought 'I'll just transport home if I need money...' Smiling, he once again turned to Duchess. "Shall we go in love?"

-It was the strange cold draft of wind that picked up around the two, that drew Duchess' attention to the changes that were occuring around her. A strange darkness was sweeping over everything, but she shrugged it off, she hadn't been here that often. Maybe this sort of thing occured regularly?
Leaning up closer to Gaston, a cold shiver going through her, she nodded a little softly as she reached the shop. Nodding a little softly, she lead him the few steps towards the door.- "Mhmm, it's getting a little cold out anyway."

The inside of the shop was pretty big. Everything was set out in their own groups, necklaces in one cabinet and rings in another and so on. Spotting the cabinet that contained the necklaces and collars, Gaston ushered Duchess towards it. "You go pick out something nice, I'll stand over here out of your way..."
Gaston walked over to the cabinet that contained the rings. There was so many to choose from, he didn't know what to pick. He kept glancing over his shoulder, to check Duchess wasn't looking. When he looked back down through the glass case, a ring near the centre of the case caught his eye. It was gold and had a diamond in the middle, and lots of smaller diamonds encrusted into the gold going all the way round. He smiled. 'It's perfect...'

-The soft glow of the jewlery cases were warm and inviting, and Duchess nodded gently at Gaston's words, peering in the case before her. Atleast twenty different collars lay out underneath the glass, and a whole other section contained more necklaces then she cared to count. And nearly all of them were beautiful.
Eyes travelling back and forth, she pondered softly which to choose, standing for far too long as she tried to narrow it. Color was easy enough.. and she was sure she wanted a collar or choker. Glancing indecisively, she called back over her shoulder to Gaston, point at two pink chokers within the glass.-
"Gaston.... This one? Or this?"

Gaston looked once more at the ring, wondering how he would be able to buy it without Duchess noticing, before walking over to her. He blinked a few times as he looked at the two very pretty chokers. "I like...this one best..." He replied, pointing at the choker with the baby-pink beads and the lovely flower-shaped medallion in the centre. "Of course, either of them would look perfect on you, so it's up to you which one you pick..." He smiled at her, before waving over the old man that had been watching them from behind the counter the whole time.
"Can I help you?" He said with a warm smile as he looked from Gaston and Duchess to the glass case. "Ah, which lovely choker does the Lady want?"

-She nodded a little in soft aggreance, eyes lifting to greet the shop keeper as he neared.
Offering a bit of a shy smile, Duchess motioned to the choker Gaston had choosen, musing softly to herself.- "This one please, it's probably better anyway, less likely to break if the little ones get to tugging at it."

The man continued to smile as he bent down to open the cabinet and retrieve the choker Duchess had chosen. "Ah, this is a lovely one!" He took the choker over to the counter and pulled a box from underneath.
Gaston walked over to him and leaned on the counter, glancing breifly over at Duchess to check that she was still browsing over the chokers and necklaces, before turning back to the man and whispering. "I want a ring from that cabinet over there...it's gold and has a big diamond in the middle with lots of little diamonds going round the ring...could you please get it for me? I want it to be a suprise..."
The man beamed and nodded. "You're a real gentleman..." He whispered back in reply, before moving over to the ring cabinet.
Gaston went back over to Duchess. "Why don't you wait outside whilst I pay the man?" He laughed "You don't need to know how much that choker costs do you?"

-Watching Gaston converse with the man, she smiled softly, before her eyes dropped to peek at some of the really lavish and expensive jewelry whistfully.
As Gaston spoke to her her ears dropped a little worriedly.- "Oh dear... is it that expensive? Well alright.." -Stepping up to her tiptoes, she pressed a soft kiss against his lips, before turning and making her way to the door, pushing out into the cool night. The dark town now seemed to have a dreary glow, and strange sights littered the streets. Ghoulish jacko' laterns, a creepy fog.
The wind whipped around her, but it didn't seem nearly as cool anymore, and she didn't even notice the changes that began to overtake her. Her entire body began to fade softly, taking on the eerie transparency of a ghost. Her dress shifted and changed taking on the apperance of a beautiful forest green dress embrodared with Celtic designs and details, before the soft tattered cloak appeared about her, resting gently upon about her shoulders, just as transparent as she.
The soft rustle of the cloak caught her attention first, and as she looked down her wispy hands came into sight. As she openned her mouth to scream, a horrible shriek escaped her, loud and cutting it made the glass windows about her shiver and shake, before she slapped her hands over her mouth, eyes widening. 'Stepping' back with surprise, she turned to view herself in the glass, horrified at the sight before her. She hadn't changed much.. her hair looked perhaps a little more straight, her dress gourgeous and ancient, but the soft dusky sense of color, and the fact that she could no longer see her feet brought a shiver of fear through her ghostly frame.
Where was Gaston? She needed Gaston!-

Gaston was too caught up in his own thoughts of how he was going to propose and Duchess' reaction and all sorts of stuff like that to hear the scream.
When the man returned to the counter, he held out the ring. "Is this the one?"
Gaston nodded and grinned. "I'm going to make her my wife tonight...finally." He peered over the cash register. "Ok, so how much will that cost?"
The man coughed a little. "...That will be six hundred and 98 gil young man."
Gaston blinked and just stared at the man. "Right...erm, OK..." Knowing that he wouldn't have enough, he reached into his back pocket to see if he could afford just the choker. In his pocket, he didn't feel money, he felt something else. He pulled out his mum's credit card, along with a note.
"Gaston. I read your journal and saw that you were going to propose, so I took Masa's credit card and placed it in your pocket. You can thank me later. ~ Broom."
Gaston just stared at it, a grin slowly appearing on his face. "Will this work?" He said, handing the card to the man.
"Ah yes, that's perfectly fine!" The man swiped the card through the machine and handed it back to him, along with two boxes. One containing the choker, and the other containing the ring.
Gaston placed the ring box in his front pocket, and grinned at the man. "Thanks for everything! I'd ask you to wish me luck, but I know I won't need it..."
The man laughed and waved as Gaston exited the shop.
Outside, Gaston came up behind Duchess and placed his hands on her shoulders. That's when he noticed that he could see right through her. "Duchess?" Slowly, he walked round to look at her from the front. There was no possible explaination for what he saw, so the only appropriate reaction was worry. "Duchess what happened?!" He wrapped his arms around her, holding her tightly. That's when his own changes came to his attention. His arms were covered in deep, blue armour. He let go of Duchess just as an incredibly long black bow appeared in his hand and a quiver full of steel arrows appeared on his back along with a deep red cape. "What the hell is going on?"

-Duchess happily sunk into Gaston's arms as he offered them, more then relieved that she didn't sink right through him. Laying silent against his chest, afraid to open her mouth again, she shoke her head softly, eyes widening as he let go of her.
Glancing at Gaston as the change over took him, she felt a soft worry building through her. He actually looked rather dashing, and handsome despite the dark and scary armor, but still... what in the world was going on?
As soon as his transformation was complete, she reached for his hand again, feeling the necessity to atleast be touching him before she tried to open her mouth again, releived when the sound was not that horrible screech, but instead her own voice.. only faded, and distant.- "I... I don't know what happened.. but look at the town. M.. maybe it's some sort of magic, from the town?"
-Hopefully... better that then the thought that she'd actually died. Who'd care for the babies! And the thought of leaving Gaston, and never being able to be comforted and warmed in his arms positively broke her heart. So much so, that she began to cry into her ghostly hands. What if she was dead and Gaston had simply.. grown?-

Once Gaston's transformation was seemingly complete, he returned Duchess back to his concerned embrace. "Are you in any pain?" Gently, he rested the tips of his fingers against her cheek. "Don't worry OK? As long as we're together, everything will be fine..." He lifted her head up and kissed her on the lips, although her lips were very cold, he was glad he was still able to kiss her.
"This all definatly seems like magic to me...I think we should just transport back to the castle right now, before anything else happens..."

"N.. No, I'm alright... " -Giving the cloak a bit of a tug, sweeping it up around her shoulders, she rest against him again.- "I'm not even that cold anymore."
-She nodded gently with his reasoning, trying to brush away the tears that clung to her cold skin. There was no use getting upset until they actually knew what was going on. However her grip on his hand was firm and worried, as if she thought she'd dissapear if she let go for even a second.
Dipping her fingers back into her dress, she was relieved to find the phone, still there despite the change in clothing. Pressing the buttons gently, she awaited as the phone did it's stuff, transporting them back to the castle, though, it certainly didn't look like it had before.-

The castle was all twisted and dark, and the sky was think with dark grey clouds, that only parted to reveal the gigantic full moon. Gaston swore under his breath as he looked around. "This is stupid..." He muttered. Then something came to his mind. "Hey, remember what happened just before I turned into a teen? That Avalar...Avalon? Ava...yeah, anyway, that was all magic...maybe the same thing is happening now?" Still looking around, but keeping a firm grip on Duchess hand, he wondered what they should do next.
