[RP]I smiled and shook my head, as Yaraif slapped yet another rabbit sticker into the pink notebook I had bought for her. She had insisted on pink. Not only was it just pink, but it was glittery to boot. I examined my fingers, which were covered in the shiny fragments, and sighed. "Isht! Prolo's fingers so pretty!" Yaraif giggled. She pressed a sticker into my palm. "Ero make San sooo cowurful!" "Ene, sanuuk," I laughed in broken kunkunese, dusting the glitter off. "Just decorate the journal, sek?" She happily returned to painting tiny rabbit pictures on the cover of the notebook, humming gently to herself. I watched her work for a while, then turned my attention on the many drawings, pictures, and journal entries spread over the desk, awaiting compilement. Pulling the earliest journal entry towards myself, I began to copy it by hand into the notebook. (Yaraif wanted to keep decorating, but I handed her an empty eggshell and told her to go color it) Why by hand? Well, she wanted the journal entries written in her favorite colors of gel pens. Pastel colors. "Yaraif, heke color do san idme?" I called to her. "Light blue!" her tiny voice answered. I sorted through the pile of gel pens. Light blue...light blue.... Finding it, I began to write. ------------------------------
[qute="Miliardo Kason"]Kara: *fliters over to Dazzle and Yaraif* Erje watchy with san? *blinks and flitters about behind them*

[qote="Miliardo Kason"]Kara: Yay! *blinks* Dazzle-pelae, heke we idem looky for?
Mili: ^_^; *cleans up tape and helps with door*
Fenix: *is hideing under a couch watching the kuns* ....I dont trust them....there ploting....[/qote]
[qute="Naien Haigara"][coor=pink]Dazzle: Looking for birdie-pelae![/clor] [/qute]
[qute="Progolo"]Yaraif is momentarily ovewhelmed by the two Kun-kuns so close to her. A bout of shyness comes over her, suddenly.
[colr=violet]"Uh...um..."[/colr]
She tries to remember what Progolo has taught her about meeting new people...something about names...
[olor=violet]"Uh...um...nayme?"[/coor]
With a deer-in-the-headlight-look, she holds out her hand. It's almost as if she expects one of them to bite it off. According to Progolo, this is the part where she says her own name. But her thoughts are quickly jumbled.
[colr=violet]"Ero nayme...Prolo."[/clor][/quot]
[qute="Miliardo Kason"]Kara: *nods understanding* Kara-pelae understandy! Kara: *watches for birdies, when the other kun she didnt know spoke she hid behind Dazzle*[/quot]

[colr=violet]"Ene! Ero Prolo! Saa..." [/colr]she looks over at Progolo, who is dozing at the base of a tree. For the life of her, she can't remember who he is--all she knows is that he's a rival for her new 'nayme'. "Saa...Yauf!"[/clor]
Completely tuckered from tending the Kun-kun all night, the newly appointed Yauf sleeps on.
Feeling a little guilty about yelling at the Kun-kun, Yaraif lowers her hand. [clor=violet]"Heke san naymes?"[/clor] Her face falls when she sees Kara cowering behind Dazzle. [colr=violet]"Fluffy yellow Kun not like ero?"[/clor][/quoe]
[qote="Miliardo Kason"]Kara: *whispers something about being afraid of meeting new kun* [/qote]

[qote="Miliardo Kason"]Kara: *waves shyly hideing behind Dazzle still* [/qote]
[qote="Youkochylde"]Chronos stepped into the main room of the headquarters, nodding softly to those around him. The magic had drawn him here this night, and it was almost as if it called to him. Something was afoot...[/qute]
Progolo Yaraif's forehead wrinkles curiously. [c=violet]"Dasl and Kara? Saa san naymes? Pretty..." [/c]She peers at Kara. [c=violet]"Ene be scared of Prolo, sek? Ero good Kun"[/c] she insists, puffing out her chest. Unaware of his Kun-kun's antics, Progolo sits bolt-upright, drenched in cold sweat. His rather dazed eyes slide over the scene before him. He isn't sure what awakened him...a nightmare? But I wasn't even asleep...He suddenly realizes that he's looking right at Chronos. He frowns sleepily. No wonder...Too tired and disoriented to fear for his life, he staggers to his feet. "Hello..." he mutters dully. [qote="Miliardo Kason"]Kara: *holds out a hand slowly to shake with Yaraifs* Kara-kun shy...[/qute] [qote="Naien Haigara"] [c=pink]Dazzle: *looks at "Prolo", then at her plushie* San looks like bunneh![/c][/qute Progolo Yaraif shakes Kara's hand blandly, but when she hears Dazzle's words she claps her hands over her tail and rabbit-like nose. She looks remorseful. [c=violet]"Sek. Ero look like malv rabbit..."[/c] Her eyes appear as though they are about to fill with tears--and then the chaos ensues. She looks around wildly at all the lights and excitement, and darts to Progolo's shoulder. [c=violet]"Yauf! Save Prolo! Lotsa noise!"[/] it shrieks, ruining the feeling of awe now settling over Progolo. Dazed by what is happening, Progolo doesn't even realize that his name has been changed. "A rebirth...?"

The beginning... [JRNL]Quote: While spending many hours wandering around the minishops section of town, I've discovered another contest. It was for a different type of pet, a creature known as a Kyunru, with the second-place prize being a kun-kun. What a kun-kun was exactly wasn't revealed, but the Kyunru were cat-like creatures with bushy tails, wings, short horns, and hooves on their hind legs. This contest was offering four newly discovered Kyunru, one of which was allegedly a griffin hybrid. I was intrigued. Unfortunately, I didn't qualify for this contest, for various reasons. But I've added this interesting shop to my 'list of shops to stalk'. I've learned that 'stalking' is a popular term used in the minishops to express constant persuing and/or frequent visits. I wonder what on earth a Kun-kun is...?

[JRNL]Quote: I'm becoming more and more interested in those kun-kun... The shop had its grand opening last night, celebrating the merging of the kun-kun shop and the kyunru shop into one (both shops are managed by the same people, anyway). I attended, mostly because I enjoy watching the antics of those peculiar creatures.

[JRNL]Quote: The manager of the Kyunkunru has vanished. Yes, vanished. And it was under the most mysterious of circumstances. It involved blood, some sort of portal, and a large blue object, according to witnesses. It was said they saw her running across the shop grounds, holding the crystal-like thing in her hands, and looking terrified. The last they saw of her was her trembling, fearful figure as she disappeared into the protal. The portal is still there. I was too wary of it to go near, though. Like many of the fellow 'stalkers', I fear for her. What on earth could be going on?

I stumbled dazedly through the front door, still numb with shock. I could feel the cold, misty bottle in my hand, yet I still didn't believe it. It was a cold misty bottle--with a kun-kun gem in it.
And it was mine.
Clumsily, I ran a hand over the smooth glass. The bottle burbbled and hummed gently. As I set it lightly on the desk, it began to emmit an incredible, serene melody. It seemed as if the bottle was so happy to be sitting on my desk at that moment that it couldn't help but sing.
I pulled the desk chair back, and slumped heavily into it. The journal I'd been writing in was still open, just as I had left it when I'd decided to take my evening stroll to the Kyunkunru headquarters.
That was a week ago. I took up my pen and began to write as much as I could remember about what had happened...

[JRNL]Quote: I've not been home for about a week. But I do have a good reason...I was sucked into a portal while visiting Kyunkunru. Strange as that seems, it's all true...and it gets even stranger. Recall that Miss Karasu disappeared a while ago--Well, she was found. As it turns out, her situation was far more serious than suspected. So serious that it required intervention from the Gods. Kyunru Gods. But I'm getting ahead of myself. It started with a normal walk to Kyunkunru HQ. The next thing I knew I was sucked into a dark, strange portal, and then, as soon I was dumped into the alternate dimension, I was being ushered into a seat by a creature more bizarre than I cared to realize at that moment. Needless to say, I was a little mortified. As the woman (that's what the creature had appeared to be at that moment) began to explain, I do believe I fainted once or twice. It became even more intense when several more of the human-looking creatures joined the rather large group of kun-kun/kyunru owners and fellow HQ visitors. They were the gods of this alternate world we'd been deposted in. It was very rough for me. I was rarely awake. But when I did manage to keep myself from passing out from fear, I caught snatches of the story. Kyunru eggs, kun-kun gems, and two children of the Kyunru deities I mentioned had been kidnapped by a spirit-rabbit. After almost a week of deliberation (and a catastrophe involving the woman I'd seen earlier), the deities, called Pantheon discovered a way to get into the thief's hole. They selected volunteers who they thought would be most worthy, arranged them in groups of five, and then sent them on seperate quests into the hole, in hopes of recovering the stolen eggs and gems. I was, shockingly, among them. I can't understand what the Pantheon saw in me...I was so nervous I kept needing to be prodded along by a fellow adventurer named Kia. It was by the light of her Angelic Kyunru's halo that we managed to to get as far as we did in those dark tunnels. At one point, music began to build. It was a haunting, echoing melody that grew and grew as the group continued further. Eventually, we stumbled into a cavern that was immediately illuminated by Subaru's halo. Crystal stalactites in a plethora of blinding colors twinkled from the walls and ceiling of the cavern. Most notable was the Kun-kun gem that had been placed on a pedastal in the center of the room. It was the source of the music. Niyati, the Pantheon who was leading us, insisted that we each try to pick it up. The others tried, and, to everyone's great alarm, the singing turned to a terrible wailing shriek whenever it was touched. Then it was my turn. I remember my reluctance to pick up the gem. After all, who wanted to hear the gem screech again? But I grudgingly wrapped my fingers around the gem and lifted it. To my great surprise, the music suddenly cressendoed into an upbeat, quirky tune. Niyati nodded in approval, and told me to hold on to the gem for her. Deafened and numb with awe, I continued with the rest of the group. At one point, we ran into a small, talking creature that was in the possession of one of the Kyunru eggs. It agreed to hand over the egg if three riddles were answered correctly. A red-haired woman named Chirigami answered all three correctly, and was allowed to take care of the egg. Niyati, at last, told us that all the rest of the missing had been found, including the two eggs of the dieties. We were bidden to return to the surface. When all the search parties returned, we were magically sent back to Gaia with the help of the Pantheon. When we arrived there, those that had been put in charge of eggs and gems were asked to speak to Karasu, who had been found safe. I gave the singing gem to her. She put it in a bottle, filled it with stormy mist, and, smiling, handed it back. I thought I was going to die from pleasure.

[JRNL]Quote: I awoke this morning to find something missing: My Kun-kun gem. At first I thought it was a trick of the light, but after I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and examined the bottle more closely, I realized that it was, indeed, empty--gem, mist, and even the cork were gone. Frantic, I began to search everywhere for any sign of the kun-kun. After I had checked under my bed and paced the entire house ten times, it was clear that the fairy-like creature nor gem wasn't anywhere inside. I dressed quickly and took my search outdoors. Keeping my eyes trained on the ground, I slowly retraced my steps back to Kyunkunru headquarters, which I visited just last night. I soon discovered that it's difficult to find anything if you don't know what you are looking for. I've never seen it before, after all. I hoped against hope that the cork had merely slipped loose on my way home--and although that would mean all the mist had left it, the creature would still be salvageable. But if the Kun-kun had hatched without my knowing, it could have flown off anywhere. I couldn't help but think Oh, Karasu is going to be so disappointed. I can't believe I LOST it!I arrived at Kyunkunru headquarters, still empty-handed. But when I stepped inside, I found a note directing owners to report to the Ieldi Headquarters, another home run by Karasu. By then, I was quite sick to my stomach. I etched the directions to the Headquarters onto my wrist and set off, trying to decide what to tell Karasu about the lost Kun-kun. After following Karasu's directions, I was surprised to find myself at a structure that looked remarkably like a circus tent. Nervously, I stepped inside. It turned out that the directions had been correct, and I arrived just in time to hear Karasu announce that all of the eggs and gems had hatched. All the Kun-kuns, baby Kyunrus, and even the young Pantheons were safely within her care. I was so relieved, I didn't even stop to ponder how on Earth the Kun-kun managed to get away from me. Oh well...at least I know that I didn't accidently drop it somewhere... Now, all there is to do is wait!

[JRNL]Quote: I find that I'm having trouble sleeping. The reason is either because I'm so excited to see the Kun-kun that I can't rest, or perhaps I'm having Kun-kun-music withdrawls. That little gem sure makes a lot of noise, but once I became used to it I found its song very soothing. Now that the bottle is empty, my home seems deathly silent. It's difficult to sleep when all you can hear is the ringing in your ears. I tried sleeping with normal, human-made music, but it wasn't the same. There's something very peculiar about that gem's singing, and it's almost addictive. Unfortunately, Kurasu has not deemed it a worthy time to meet the kun-kun yet, so I suppose I'll just have to suffer. Curses.

[JRNL]Quote: I've been invited to some kind of party, scheduled for the forteenth. According to Karasu, I'll finally be able to meet the Kun-kun! Oh, I can hardly wait! You'll have to excuse my handwriting, I'm so excited I can't keep still... The 'party' is going to be held near or in the Ieldi Village Tree, which is, as of now, completely shrouded in mist. The mist should dissipate on the morning of the get-together, revealing the escaped Kun-kuns, Kyunrus and Pantheon children. I'm sure Neruheru and Siff will be there...which doesn't exactly thrill me. As I've mentioned before, I tend to become rather edgy around them. They're gods, for crying out loud! Well, that is all I can think of to write now...I suppose I'll go back to pacing and waiting for Wednesday.

[JRNL]Quote: The party was delayed slightly. And I was late! All of my sleepless nights finally caught up with me, and I slept in. When I got there, a few of the new creatures had already been revealed. The owners were being led up to the strange Ieldi Village Tree by Karasu, who presented their companions to them. I wasn't aware of this until I was urged to follow her by some fellow owners. And now I have it. It's incredible...words can't describe how mesmerizing it is...I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't give Yaraif (as I've decided to call it) as much attention as I should of on our first meeting; I was too busy being absolutely horrified by Siff and his child. Pathetic, I know. But enough of that--I quickly realized that Yaraif is quite a handful. It has wild pink hair and a very pale blue skin, and its face looks like a rabbit's. But it doesn't act like a rabbit...it keeps biting me. I swear, its like a ticking time bomb! Its personality and emotions change so quickly it's nearly impossible to keep up! Like, for example, I tried to study the tiny egg it always keeps with it. But when I touched the egg, Yaraif started yelling and swearing at me in Kunkunese. (Do you know how bizzarre that is?!) Then I handed the egg back, and it cuddled up against my cheek and started to...purr? I left the party shortly after I received Yaraif. I wanted to get to know it better without fearing for my life while I was around Siff. I didn't get a chance to talk to it much, though...As soon as I got home, it had a fit of hyper-activity, and then fell asleep. I guess I'll just wait until morning.

Yaraif decided she was tired of sleeping, so she threw her egg at me to wake me up as well. I admit it--when I felt that shell hit my forehead I screamed and jumped out of bed.
Yaraif thought that this was extremely amusing.
"Nenemne! Nenemne!" she squealed. She was laughing so hard that tears were streaming from its eyes. I was still disoriented, and it wasn't until Yaraif almost toppled off the bedside table that I returned to my senses.
"Careful!"
I dived across the bed and steadied the Kun-kun with my hand. She merely continued laughing, kicking its hooves and holding its stomach. Disgruntled, I handed her Easter Egg back to her. Her emotion changed immediately.
"ENE! Saa Erhi! Idme egg, Herie ero!" She tried to snatch the egg from me. I held it out of its reach.
"Ene," I frowned, partly out of disgust and partly because I was trying to remember how to speak Kunkunese. "Ene 'naante'?"
Once again, her face changed dramatically. Looking pitiful, Yaraif dropped to her knees and began to whimper. "Yureshe...ero iktet..." She started to cry. "Ero idme egg, egg ahmer...ero iktet. Naante herie?"
"That's more like it." I hadn't understood half of what she had said, but she'd said 'Naante', and looked remorseful to boot. That was enough to satisfy me. I handed Yaraif the egg.
She...purred...? Then she crossed her legs, put the egg in her lap, and just stared at me. Very unnerving. To fill in the silence, I sat back down on the bed and tried to speak to her.
"Aamha?"
She smiled blankly at me.
"Yaraif...sleepy? Are you tired?"
Her grin widedned and she shook her head. But then its smile faded. "Heke...Yawaf?"
I pulled out the notepad that I had written Kunkunese on and studied it.
"San Yaraif."
"Ero Yaf?"
"Sek...Yaraif. That's your name."
"Yauf? Saa ero...naym?"
She can't pronounce her own name, apparently.
"Right! Well...close enough anyway."
Yaraif scooted closer to me and continued staring. Her nose twitched like a rabbit's. "San...nayme? Heke San naym? Ero nayme Yauf!" She puffed up her chest proudly. At least she likes her name.
"My name is Progolo. Ero name Progolo."
"Isht! Prolo?"
I raised an eyebrow. Not only does she think my name is weird, she can't pronounce it either. "Pro-GO-lo."
"Sek! Prolo!"
I tried to teach her correctly several more times, but 'Yauf' soon grew bored, and she started to sing. I give up for now.
It's going to be very interesting to raise Yaraif.

"Heke...Jugre?"
I was kneeling on the edge of my bed, still staring dumbfounded at my very, VERY angry kun-kun. She was hungry, I knew, but I had no idea what to give her to eat. I'd completely forgotten to ask Karasu in my excitement.
"Juuuuuuuuuuugre! Idme ero juuuuuuuuuugre!" Yaraif wailed, writhing on her back. I thought she was over-exaggerating at first, but then I realized she hadn't had anything to eat for about twelve hours.
I thought. If I was a five-inch fairy, what would I eat?
I studied the itty-bitty tooth marks in my hand. They looked like human teeth marks. Did that mean she was omnivorous? Would she eat meat if I gave her some? Or would she rather have plants? What if I accidentally gave her something that she would choke on? Or something poisonous for kun-kuns? Or something she couldn't digest?
That thought brought me to another question; how in the world did kun-kuns excrete wastes?
Would I have to potty-train her?!
"Jugre!" Yaraif reminded/demanded.
"OK! Sek!" I said frantically. "Let's find something you can eat," I leaped off the bed and ran to the kitchen, my mind scrambling to think of something to feed her. "Nerae!"
I heard the soft hum of her wings as she floated onto the cupboard. Her tiny face was screwed up in anger.
I opened the fridge and began to search. "...Bread?"
Not knowing what bread was, she just folded her arms and scowled at me, tapping her hoof lightly on the cupboard.
"Here...try. Jugre." I told her. She took it, studied it, and gave it an experimental sniff. Her nose twitched a bit. She looked up at me, her eyes glowing. Yaraif murmured a phrase in kunkunese, but I didn't catch what she said.
Finally, she licked the bread. Then she stuffed the bit of bread into her mouth greedily.
Along with a long stream of shouted kunkunese oaths, the bread was immediately spat out.
"Ene?" I asked meekly.
She shuddered in disgust.
I sighed. "I suppose we must try something else."
* * *
We went through fifteen items in the fridge before Yaraif and I finally settled on something she could eat. It was a citrus juice I'd forgotten I had. It was way in the back of the fridge. As soon as Yaraif smelled the overly sweetened juice, she just started slurping it up. She seemed to really like it. Unfortunately, it made her hyper. Once again.
Ugh...

[JRNL]Quote: Well, I've discovered what Yaraif eats. Juice. I figure she likes juice because it's so sweet. Almost like nectar. That would make sense, wouldn't it? She's part butterfly, after all. I've read that small, quick creatures, like kun-kuns, need high amounts of sugar to keep them going. I'm so glad she eats something cheap like juice, and not something like rodent eyes. That would be disgusting and difficult to fetch for her. I've purchased several different flavors of juices for Yaraif, along with some very sugary powders, just in case she needs solid foods. As her English improves, she may have an easier time telling me what she needs to eat, what she can't eat, what she likes to eat, and what she won't eat. Yaraif already seems to be really good at telling me what she wants and what she doesn't want.

Eventually, I'll have to figure out some way she'll be able to take care of herself while I'm busy. Now that I think about it.... Nevermind. I'll write that later. Anyhow, I stayed with Yaraif. I wanted to teach her a little English. I started with colors. ...And ended with colors. She loved learning their names. She was constantly zipping all over the house, finding new objects, and yelling, "PROLO! Heke saa cowwur?!" I followed her obediently for hours, trying to remember the names of the more obscure colors like chartreuse and cobalt. Fortunately , my house is rather lacking as far as color is concerned. Yaraif wants see to it that this is changed...

[ Rec.RP]Progolo carefully rung the water out of his long hair, muttering blithely to himself. So much needed to be done...that wooden flute the drow elf had ordered still needed to be tuned....the violin needed to be sanded...he needed to play through Movement One of the latest symphony... He stepped from the shower, pulled a towel about his waist, and continued to carefully brush through his hair. Drying his hair was such a pain. It was so thick and... "Saa cowwur... black!"Yes, and black too. It wa... "Yaraif!?" Progolo yelped in surprise. "What are you doing in here? Out!" Yaraif just continued to ogle his gleaming, pale skin. Then she burst into excited gibberish. "Prolo change cowwur! San cowwur PEEEACH! Sek!? Prolo was gray, now san is peeeeeeeeeeeeeachhhhh!" She continued to burble in kunkunese triumphantly, gesturing at his hair, towel, his sopping wet body and his alarmed, puzzled face. He couldn't think fast enough to translate it all. He backed into a corner, pulled the towel more securely around himself, and pointed at the door. "Tamal!" Progolo ordered, without realizing what he had said. Yaraif spluttered to a stop, mid-word. "...Heke?"Progolo smacked his own forehead with his palm. "Ugh! What am I thinking...Yaraif, tabas!" She shouted at him angrily. He argued back hotly in English. Unable to understand each other in the least, they simply continued to bicker. o-Raichu-o Rae cocked her head quizzically, staring at the door to Progolo's house. He'd invited her to visit, yet he wasn't answering her knocking. Flicking her tail back and forth, she stepped over towards the window. "Progolo?" she called. She shaded her eyes and peered into the glass. It appeared he wasn't home... Hm. There sure was a lot of noise coming from inside, though. Rae's strangely-shaped ears perked up slightly. It sounded like voices... Sliding back towards the door, she gave the doorknob an experimental twist. It opened easily. She leaned into the room cautiously. "Proooooogolooo~?" she sang out. Now she knew it was Progolo's voice she was hearing. He was arguing with someone. Someone very, very small... "Hey, Prog? Can I come in?" she called, louder this time.
